The battle of the USSP
The Battle of the USSP
Load Full StoryOnce upon a time there was a red unicorn stallion who spoke with a funny accent. He gained power through the years and finally became head of state and would soon begin the attack…
As Josef Stallion rechecked the maps and various charts that lay across the table. He made sure the landing of troops in Stalliongrad was still on schedule by radioing the reconnaissance plane, that was over the city, asking if they could see any more changling guards inbound to stop the ground attack. The plane radioed back with a quick, “Negative commandant.” Much to Josef’s relief.
“None of my comrade’s blood needs to be spilled,” Stallion sighed out in relief. As the command to charge the beach was given, the battleships rained hell from the sky. Nearby towns thought it was an earthquake and promptly ducked for cover. When the Soviet Ponies reached the town the shelling stopped only about half the city buildings stood unscathed. Back on the beach head, heavy armor divisions were rolling towards the infantry at the front. They took the city by storm with minimal casualties.
After eight hours of fighting, the Changelings surrendered, but Josef had given a strict order to “Take no prisoners,” so they were disposed of quickly. When Stalliongrad was liberated Josef went ashore, he surveyed the damage to the city. “They’re going to have my flank for all this,” He said.
General Buckov, commander of the invasion and close friend to Josef Stallion, approached Stallion with a smile on his face, “Well Joe, we did it, we have a foothold on the enemy. so what is out next move?” He asked. “Dimitry, You of all people should know this. Fortify the front, search the city for survivors and move forward. Same as the last one.” stated Stallion. “Sorry, I’ve started the victory celebration early if you know what I mean,” said Buckov. “Oh, I almost forgot, radio our allies, tell them the city is ours!” shouted Josef as Dimitry trotted back to the command tent.
In three days their forces would split in two. Half going east to Seaddle then to Salt Lick City and the rest south to The Emerald City and then on to Los Pegasus. Everything had gone according to plan.
The Third Day
Invasion Group 1
As the city of Seaddle was coming into view, the troops were boarding the landing craft and preparing for launch. General buckov took command of this half of the army. He was ready for this full frontal assault on Seaddle.
The Changelings were completely oblivious to their imminent demise. There were only about 10,000 of them and over 500,000 Soviet ponies were just a mile of the shore. When the first wave of soldiers hit the beach the Changelings just stared at them in disbelief at the sheer amount of ponies headwing towards them. The Changelings had no such modern weapons to fight with so the shot bolts of pure magic from their horns. It was of no use, The new soviet pony uniform was laced with anti-magic fiber... and kevlar, just in case. All of which were sporting a black, grey, and white digital camo. (Very fashionable darling.) (Damn it Rarity, stop using my computer!)
After the Changeling surrendered, General Buckov looked over the city and smiled at his handiwork. Only four buildings fell, and a little over one thousand Soviets injured. “Today was a good day,” He smirked.
Invasion Group 2
Josef stallion stood on the Conning Tower of the command submarine, he saw that the city had been surrounded by obsidian towers and in the center a staircase, a really tall staircase. This did not match the intel he was provided with. Confused at the sight, he decided to go ashore alone to see what was going on. But there would be no climbing of stairs. He boarded a smaller boat that would transfer him to the Leninhoove, a short deck helicopter carrier. When Josef got to the flight deck, his personal Hind attack helicopter was waiting. A young sergeant came up to Josef, saluted, and said,” Comrade Stallion, your helicopter is fueled and ready to go sir.” “Thank you comrade Muscovitch.” Josef climbed into the hind and fired up the engine, thinking how ridiculous it would be to take the stairs in this day and age.’I take helicopter, buck your stairs,’ He thought to himself before takeoff. The wheels lifted off the deck with ease and in no time he was headed up to the top of the stairs.
Ten minutes had passed and he still had not reached the top of the structure. “How tall is this thing!” He yelled into the headset. “Sir, the recon plane reports one heat source at the top of the tower,” stated a young soldier manning the radio on the Leninhoove. “Roger that,” said Josef. He finally reached the top after five more minutes of flight. At the top stood a magnificent obsidian palace with a large courtyard out front. Josef landed the helicopter and got out. As he approached the palace, he heard a roar from inside. “GO AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!” Shouted an evil but familiar voice. Somehow he knew this pony, he could not for the life of him remember where he had heard it, but he knew it.
“SHOW YOURSELF COWARD!” He demanded as he raised his golden Kalashnikov.
“Me, a coward, HA I think not!” The voice shouted back. Josef watched af a figure appeared in the doorway, the pony did not exit, however Josef Stallion finally knew who it was. All he could see was the green and red eyes of King Sombra.
“Sombra, I know its you. Come out here so we can talk.” Josef said while lowering his weapon. “There is no point in talking, you're just going to banish me just like Celestia and the one who is controlling my old empire.” “No one is going to be banished, we’re just going to talk.” “I’m still not coming out!” “SOMBRA, get out here at once! I will not be asking a second time!” Demanded Josef. Slowly, King Sombra walked out of his palace and sat across from Stallion. “So”, Josef started, “how did you gain power of the Emerald City?” “Chrysalis said I could have it if I helped,”Sombra began. “Help with what?” Stallion asked. “If I tell you, i’ll be banished,” Sombra said. “Sombra, just tell me what happened,” Sombra hesitated “Well... okay, Chrysalis found what was left of my horn and brought me back, but she wanted me to help with the takeover of equestria. If I refused she would have destroyed me in my weak state,” explained Sombra, “I chose life!” “ I understand, You got a second chance. But now it is time to set things right.” The only thing giving Sombra mercy is that he and Josef were allies before the Crystal Empire disappeared.
Inside the Obsidian palace hung old tapestries from his old rule of the Crystal Empire, along with portraits of himself. The two sat by a large oak table, looking over charts maps and other various documents that Sombra had laid out. “How many troops do you have total?” inquired Josef. “About 300,000 , but they are not as well trained as I would like them to be,” told Sombra “ Thats alright, the more bodies the better. sometimes just the sheer number of the force is greater than the small and well equipped,” Stallion replied. When their meeting ended, Stallion got back into his helicopter and flew back to the carrier. He would meet sombra in the morning on the way to Los Pegasus.
7 o’clock am
The entire soviet pony army had landed on the beach just outside of the Emerald City. They were ready for the march to Los Pegasus. Aspland, Sombra and his troops met them, they were loaded in to armored personnel carriers and the trek began.
Noon
“Take those tarps off and load the guns! We have enemy air units in our A.O.”, shouted First lieutenant Mirrov. She was a jet black mare with a silver mane. She Finished 1 out of 43 in the moschov academy. Mirrov was in charge of The Radar and Anti-Air Support Division. “First team to shoot down 100 changlings win a round of drinks!” The radar showed that there were about 100,000 bougies inbound. ‘We’re in for one hell of a fight’ though mirrov as the thunderous roar of the flak cannons began. There was 50 flak cannons, 20 40mm bofors, and about 100 .50 cal machine guns in her division.
“Oh fuck! Fuck Fuck Fuck” Mirrov looked at the radar monitor. The screen was nearly red with enemy dots. Now the ground troops joined in the fight. There ak-47s coming to life, no matter where in the sky you shot you would not miss. Even the artillery were firing into the air. Mirrov looked to her left and saw ten changlings barreling towards her. She fired at them taking out five of them and sidestepped the others. “Where do these things keep coming from!” she cried as she emptied the mag on her rifle. The Lieutenant flipped the switch on her radio and said, “This is red team leader to any available air units in the sector. I am calling shaddard sickle, authorization code charlie echo niner niner two.” For the longest time there was no response.
“shhhhhhh Red team, this is papa bear, get into cover, we are bringing the rain, ETA 30 seconds, over” Mirrov was behind an apc when the message went through. she scurried under it just in time. Suddenly the sky burst into fire.
Lieutenant Mirrov surveyed her remaining troops. Only three battalions left out of ten, the losses were heavy and her radio was broken. “What next, a dragon attack?” she groaned. Mirrov heard something above her, she looked up to see a hind gunship landing near her. ”Hes’ here! ALL TROOPS! COMRADE STALLION HAS COME HERE TO CONGRATULATE US ON OUR VICTORY!!” All three battalions cheered. It wasn’t everyday that your divine leader stopped by for a visit.
The helicopter touched down and Josef looked out to see Lt. Mirrov. She waved at him, and he waved back. What was this ones name? “I think I need more vodka if I'm going to remember, uggg… I’ll wing it.”, he said to himself as he exited his hind. Stallion walked over to her, they saluted. “Greetings comrade Stallion”, Mirrov stated. “Hello comrade… ” he tried to look at her tag but it was singed off. “ahhh… Hello Comrade It appears you ran into a bit of trouble here, but it looks like you handled it quite well." he stated as he looked around at all the chard changeling corpses. "It looks like they use the new fuel air bomb here." said Stallion. "I think it was more than one." Mirrov added rubbing her mane with a hoof. " ok, you replacement troops should be here in a matter of days, until than you will be moved to the back of the convoy.
