Unexpected love

The mothering sun's beaming rays shone brightly through the narrow window. The shining beams rudely interrupted Vinyl's otherwise peaceful slumber, she awoke with a quiet yawn, slowly sitting up while tiredly rubbing the remaining sleep out of her gorgeous, magenta eyes.

Vinyl swiftly slipped out of her now messy bed, her small bare feet hesitantly touching the old, wooden floor.

Just then her bedroom door slowly creaked open, revealing a tall, slender woman with long, light blue hair, "Vinyl, honey? Are you awake?" She asked sweetly, gently pushing the wooden door open a little more taking a few hesitant steps inside.

"Yes mummy" Vinyl replied with a smile, the little girl was very fond of her mother, they were very close, ever since Vinyl's dad died, the only thing she had left was her mother and the faint memories of her father, she remembered his sort, spiky dark blue hair and his content smile most of all. He was a knight, one of the best, he died protecting the kingdom from King Sombra, he saved the king's life using his own, he jumped in the way of the dark magical spell that was aimed for the royal, he died a hero, a brave one.

"Sweetie your breakfast is at the table, be sure to eat it quickly then get change we don't want to miss the coronation now do we? Vinyl's mum smiled, swiftly exiting the young child's room to make her way down the cold, stone stairs.
