The Siren Death Knight
The beginning of a new life
Previous ChapterChapter 2: The beginning of a new life
Sonata landed face first outside of Orgrimmar. The gates were massive and was made of stone and the guard towers were made of wood while the roofs were made out of leather and cloth. Each side had a large emblem of the horde on a red cloth. What Sonata had landed on felt like she was in a desert and rightfully so. Orgrimmar is a city in a desert region named Durotar. Sonata looked at the wall in wonder. "I guess this is the place where that Darion guy said I should go." She said to herself. She kept the letter to Thrall in her bag.
A few steps in and she felt something hit her. "Owie!" She cried. She looked down and saw a piece of rotten fruit. This brought some bad memories and how she ended up here.
-Flashback-
Adagio and Aria were in the changing rooms getting ready. Sonata was already done changing as she didn't need much other than a change of shirt and a tie. Adagio looked around to see if anyone was around and began talking to Aria. "This has to be perfect, Aria. So that means, when Sonata fails to pull her weight, you step in and cover for her. Got that?" Aria groaned. "Adagio, every time we sing, I am always the one picking up the slack for Ms. Dimwit. Why can't we just cut her from the equation? We could be just as effective as a duet, rather than drag Sonata around like a lost puppy."
Adagio looked in the mirror as she was putting on make up. "Because, with three of us, our voices are strong enough for my plan to succeed. Once we win this and the school ours, we will get rid of Sonata. But we won't kill her as I have a plan afterward." Aria looked at her sister. "And what kind of plan is that?" There was a moment in silence.
Sonata had just forgotten her snack and was heading back to the dressing room when she heard them talk about what they would do once they succeed. She fell silent. Se didn't know what to think. Why would Adagio be willing to get rid of her even if their plans went off without a hitch? Aria was typical seeing as she would always be the one pointing out her faults and criticizing them, but that was Aria. But Adagio? The brains of the operation? There was no way she would ever consider such a thing.
Aria spoke out. "Well? Aren't you going to spill?" Adagio didn't pay attention. "I said too much as it is, it is for me to know, and you to butt out. Besides, it is merely a contingency plan should we fail, which I expect we won't." Adagio bared her teeth at Aria before leaving the dressing room. She ignored Sonata and headed straight to the backstage for the show. Aria however, stayed behind. She took a knife from her purse and looked at it with a scowl. "Too long have I had to babysit that worthless idiot while I worked my voice endlessly just to get by on scraps of energy that she had no right to even have. But tonight, that will all change. Adagio be damned if she expects me to keep her alive after this performance. Whatever you have planning better not involve her, because that little crybaby is going to have a little "incident"." Aria placed the knife in her boot.
"Aria! You coming?" Adagio shouted. Aria rushed out of the exit to join her group just as Trixie and the Illusions are about to finish.
-end flashback-
Sonata heard a voice coming from the entrance and saw a guard saying something to someone. "Looks like we're going to have an execution!" He shouted. Sonata didn't know what he was spouting about until another fruit hit her. This time, a female's voice that shouted. "My family was wiped out by the scourge, you monster!" Sonata then looked up and tumbled on her butt at what she was seeing. This was the first time she had actually seen an Orc and from the looks of them, they were intimidating. She had to get the letter to Thrall, but she got nervous all of a sudden as she was facing what appears to be like they are guards.
"Excuse me," She said meekly. "Just let me go by. I got a letter." Sonata tried to run while dodging food and spit being thrown at her. This was happening so fast for her to comprehend. One moment she had failed her sisters in the battle of the bands competition, then she got stabbed to death by Aria, then she went on a murder spree for her so called master, and now she is running for her life from fruit and spit as well as harsh words coming from the guards and citizens. Sonata wasn't paying attention to where she was going and ran smack into a mailbox. She got disoriented for a second before running again. "This is too much for me to take." She yelled. The yelling brought attention several random Orcs and Trolls as they watched what looks like a crazed Blood Elf running blindly throughout the city.
Sonata had no sense of direction as every time she hit something, she would run either to the left or to the right depending on where her body was leaning. It had taken her about two hours to reach what looks like a keep or something. Sonata has had a hard time remembering what such places look like and with the way the structures are built, it could be any ones guess until she ran into what seemed a wooden statue. Sonata took a moment to relax as it doesn't appear to be anyone around. She looked up and felt a sense of fear running through her as she was looking what may be some form of demon. "I should not be here." She muttered as she backed away from the statue and walked towards a large building.
She grew even more nervous seeing as more guards stared at her with hatred. Sonata had no choice but to run in and deliver it to whoever this Thrall guy is. What she didn't realize is that she accidentally tripped and broke the bonfire that was set up in the front room. thrall was watching from his throne and decided to investigate. Sonata got up only to be slammed with a hammer to the gut, sending her flying out of the building. "You got a lot of nerve coming to my city, Death Knight." He spoke. Sonata groaned and struggled to get up, only to be slammed back down by a hammer throw. Thrall used his shamanic powers to have the earth hold her steady whilst he approaches her.
Just as Thrall was about to smear Sonata all over the street, a piece of parchment fell out. Thrall decided to read what it was before anything else. After reading it and re reading it, he released his grip and lifted the hurting Death Knight. "My apologies, I had not realized that you were sent here by Tirion Fordring. He saved Eitrigg from Stratholme which was a rare occasion that a human would go out of his way for an Orc. You are welcome to the horde as well as your allies, Blood Elf."
Thrall used a healing spell to cure the injuries that he had caused on Sonata before turning around to give a message. Sonata no longer felt like she was hated anymore. She followed Thrall into this throne room where he made his announcement to everyone. "Citizens of Orgrimmar! A heavy blow has come to our enemies of the scourge! Death Knights, once under the control of the Lich King has now broken free and are willing to fight for our cause! Welcome these new brothers and sisters as if they are one of us. LOK'TAR OGAR! FOR THE HORDE!" Thrall finished his speech and turned to Sonata.
"I would like to see you fight. From this other report that your Highlord gave me, he says that you were merciless while under the Lich Kings control, but is curious on how you fight on your own. And I agree. From what I have seen from you, you lack... grace." He pointed at the pile of logs scattered across the room. "We have plenty of time to train you to be ready to take on the Lich King, but for now, you got training to do. I would like for you to demonstrate me your abilities tomorrow morning outside Silvermoon City. Reagent Lord Lor'Themar has offered you a place to stay for the duration of your time." Thrall handed Sonata what looks like an orb like key.
Sonata was about to run out until she realize. She doesn't know where Silvermoon City is!
