Fifteen years after the defeat of Tirek, Sunset Shimmer asks Twilight Sparkle and Princess Celestia to train her daughter to use magic in Equestria. Twilight takes Solar Shimmer on as her private pupil, and later finds out that Solar is as powerful, if not moreso, as her mother. With the help of her friends, Solar must learn to control her magic while dealing with constant homesickness and the threat of destruction.
