A series of poems about the villains of MLP. They are all sonnets, because I like sonnets. Oh, and I usually like to play around with the rhyme schemes.

Discordian

A resting evil a millennia old
Petrified like Medusa’s fate
A mind wanders when serving time
Through the passing of moon and sun

A spark of chaos, a sight to behold
Cracks in stone show power great
A chimeric form still at their prime
Released once more to have their fun

Six heroes must let a plan unfold
A villain’s pawns yell out “checkmate”
Unpunished goes an epic crime
Abandon all hope, for there is none

Deus ex machine, harmony has won
Arrivederci, this story is done

Metamorphosis

A perfect day, it was meant to be
A grand affair of great expense
Threats create a strong defense
But one slips in and takes up bed

Suspicions arise, friends are misled
A bridle sham awaits the hour
Her evil plan begins to flower
Duplicity rears its ugly head

But when exposed their skin is shed
An invasive battle can commence
Love is taken without recompence
Six heroes have fallen for all to see

But a couple triumphant declare a decree
Love will banish, those who took it for free

An ancient darkness awakes from rest
Bringing forth a society oppressed
A student sent to take a test
Six friends embark on an epic quest

In a frozen empire a couple stand guard
One of them keeps evil’s entry barred
The other infected with a crystalline shard
A mist of shadow leaves both of them scarred

The cavalry has come to put life in the air
The past returns to create a grand fair
A student and friend climb a great stair
To find and conquer darkness’ lair

A hero is trapped, an underdog gives heart
A darkness destroyed letting a monarch restart

In the dead of night a purchase is made
A weapon obtained that has been forbade
A beaten foe comes back for a fight
Mad at their shameful and sorrowful plight

With power anew a hero is beat
Forcing them to fall and retreat
With friends and mentor now out of reach
A hero turns to one with rhyming speech

Training commences to save the day
While back at home their friends are made slaves
Try as they might the hero continues to fall
But their friends’ information escapes a great wall

With tricks up their sleeve, a plan is enacted
Six friends ban together, a foe’s power redacted

Behold a princess newly ascended
Her friends and she attend a meeting
As they sleep there is a thief in the night
An artifact stolen to a world apart

A solo mission the princess must take
A stowaway friend tags along for the ride
In a new world they find hard to describe
The princess and friend are not too late

Five friends found without their spark
Awkward encounters mean acceptance denied
A common factor provides new ways of seeing
Six friends come together and make amends

The friends are together but there is still more to come
An ex-student turned tyrant, has a trap to be sprung

Tyrant

A princess under utilized, called upon once again
To enact a very simple task, in which she has to grin
But in past years a guard did slip with impact yet unknown
And now the time is right to strike for a power which has grown

With evil on the rise again a princess is called in to play
But instead an ancient foe redeemed was sent into the fray
But evil is quite crafty, over time their skills did hone
And foe reformed was convinced to help them win the throne

As the duo’s power grew, the land severely weakened
But the princess’ time had finally come to be a heroic beacon
Unaware the duo conquered, their victory set in stone
Knowledge is found through fickle trust, for evil works alone

A battle ensues, a barter is made, an evil is beaten once more
Six friends are all together again, a princess was allowed to soar

A trio in exile, their lives they hate
A raging hunger, unable to sate
But on one night it seemed to be fate
A battle was viewed that gave them a way

A band of friends eager to play
A friend redeemed unable to stay
A trio’s song ensnares a school
Six friends unaffected, retain their cool

A friend is called that bends the rules
A song of battle ringing out
Causes friends to scream and shout
A leader has, a growing doubt

The battle continues, of hope there's a glimmer
But the spark within them is growing dimmer

Tricks for the friends are set into place
Trapped together their problems are faced
A silent hero appears wielding epic bass
The hero then leads them into the fight

Six friends are losing, try as they might
A friend on the sideline joins their plight
The friend sings out matching the beat
Their power united ensure evil’s defeat

With their power gone the trios on the retreat
Peers realize what was behind the grand feature
A friend is no longer viewed a vile creature
Friend becomes student, student becomes teacher

Unknown to all an adventure’s set sail
For a studious counterpart is hot on their trail

Nightmare Night

The moon doth rise on eternal night
Marking the end of an olden dawn
A bringer of darkness instills a fright
That topples even the greatest brawn

The stars in the sky aid in her plight
To bring a voice to an unheard cry
A target of power is now in sight
A forgotten traitor, in bed they lie

In a far off tower there is a fight
In eyes of green a grudge renewed
A monarch falls against her might
Darkness falls and chaos ensues

But all is not lost and hope takes flight
Six heroes remain to shed their light

Demonic Rebellion (Part 2)

A song and dance win back her peers
But fame is fickle as she has been framed
A valiant knight clears her name
But the clock is ticking and she needs to switch gears

With catastrophe avoided the night arrived
A competition between two rivals was had
But the foe was not ready to raise the white flag
The theft of a friend leaves the princess surprised

A chase ensues, the fight is taken outside
The villain bluffs but is exposed
A game is played while tension grows
The upper hand is lost, will the six friends survive

The she-demon’s power and reign were short lived
But friendship remains, as a welcoming gift
