Rarity sat at the creek, her usual hiding spot from the terrors of the world that haunted her in everyday life. This was her hiding place, her sanctuary from the entire world, her one place to find peace in herself. Today was going to be very different for her. As she lay in the grass near the creek, she listened to the water rush by. She couldn’t help but get the feeling that someone had stalked her, watching her from a distance.

“Hey, look! It’s the rat!” came the voice of a pegasus colt. He was joined by a unicorn filly and an earth pony colt. His name is Kicker. He had a sky blue coat, an even lighter shade of blue mane and tail, and purple eyes. His cutie mark was a hoofball. His friend Dug had a mustard yellow coat, a dirty brown mane and tail, and red eyes. The filly Annie has a snow white coat and a platinum mane and tail with lavender eyes. Rarity knew those three foals were trouble. They started tormenting her on her very first day at school. The day they got suspended for a week. When they came back to school, the torment became relentless. Now they cornered her in her sanctuary, defiling it with their taint. She had nowhere to run except the Everfree Forest. Which she knew was a bad idea, as the Everfree is filled with the most dangerous creatures ever known. She laid herself down out of fear of what is going to happen to her as the three bullies converged on her.

“What shall we do to a little good-for-nothing rat?” Dug asked his friends.

“Let’s teach her a lesson she will never forget,” Annie replied.

The three proceeded to kick and buck Rarity relentlessly, hurting the defenseless filly. As Rarity cried and screamed in pain, the beating continued. They continued as she pleaded for it to stop. After two minutes of the abuse, Rarity couldn’t take it anymore. She unleashed a fury of magic that sent the three foals flying backwards.

“What the buck!?” Kicker exclaimed as he hit the ground hard. He looked at Rarity, who, for lack of a better word, had changed drastically. Her blue eyes were now glowing, her teeth now razor sharp teeth, her wicked teeth bearing grin showed said teeth, as the upper teeth bit into her lip and caused it to bleed. Then her hooves turned into clawed feet with razor sharp talons where the hooves used to be. Rarity had changed into a horrific shell of herself. It scared the three foals. This monster Rarity levitated a rock with sharp edges in her magic and hurled it at Dug as hard as she could throw it with her magic. The rock nailed Dug hard into the Adam’s apple. Cutting off his air supply and even cutting into the jugular vein. It killed him instantly. Kicker didn’t have the time to react as the rock was tossed aside and Rarity broke into a full gallop towards him. He knew she was going to ram into him and he braced himself for impact. However, she didn’t hit him head-on in her charge. Instead, she leaped into the air, brandishing her clawed right foreleg, then bringing it down onto Kicker’s neck. Severing his head completely from his body. His head flew over and landed in front of Annie, who naturally screamed in pure shrill terror. But Annie didn’t have time to unsee the image of her friend’s decapitated head. Instead she saw Rarity making her move towards her now.

“Please don’t do this, Rarity! I’m sorry for bullying you! Kicker and Dug pressured me into it! I’M SO VERY SORRY!”

“One, two… Azrael is coming to claim your soul…” Rarity said in a deep demonic voice, as she walked closer and closer to her final target. “Three, four… There is no where to hide…”

It was then Rarity in a cold sweat in her bedroom, letting out shrill shrieks of terror as she woke up from her nightmare. Her mother, Cookie Crumbles, slamed open the door as she rushed to her daughter’s side.

“It’s okay sweetie… Shhhh… It’s okay. You were just having a terrible nightmare,” she said in a comforting voice.

“It felt so real, mother…” Rarity said.

“Well, it’s morning now. You have nothing to worry about.”

Rarity trotted down the stairs to the dining room for breakfast. Her mood was no better while she was getting ready for school. She sat down at her spot at the table. Her mother fed her younger sister Sweetie Belle her bottle formula per usual. Her father, Hondo Flanks, sat at the table, reading the newspaper as he does on a daily basis. Rarity looked at the pancakes in front of her. As always, her mother put fruit into the batter, if they had any.

“You okay kiddo?” her father asked her. “Heard screaming all the way down here.”

“I’ll live, father,” Rarity replied. “Hopefully this breakfast will help my mood.”

“Remember, you have school today,” Cookie added.

School… She knew who will be there to torment her again as they had for the past couple of months. It saddened her she couldn’t get a transfer to another class of Mrs. Chalk Board’s, the only teacher in Ponyville, who taught at the small Ponyville School House. Rarity shook the thoughts out of her head and enjoyed what would be the only thing to brighten her day. She levitated her fork and dug into the pancakes.

Cheerilee and Applejack, her only two friends, waited for Rarity to come out of her house so they could walk to school.

“I had the most terrible nightmare last night,” Rarity said.

“Pray tell…” Applejack said.

“In it, I became a horrifying monster and killed Dug and Kicker before I woke up. It was truly awful, darlings.”

“That does sound like a terrible nightmare, Rarity,” Cheerilee said.

The three came up to the school house, where police had gathered and a foal psychologist was comforting some of the students. It was confusing for Cheerilee and Applejack, but Rarity had a dreadful feeling that her nightmare may have been more than a nightmare. Rarity saw Annie sitting, talking to the psychologist Brain Storm about her friends. Tears streamed heavily down Annie’s eyes as she sobbed and talked at the same time. Upon closer inspection, Annie was talking about her nightmare that she had before she left to go pick up Dug and Kicker for school. However what she said next really disturbed Rarity.

“The last thing I knew before waking up was Rarity slowly stalking towards me, thirsty for my blood and my soul. Then I woke up, thinking nothing of it and ate breakfast with my parents. Then, when I went to pick up Kicker and Dug for school, as we always go to school together, I was told by their parents that they both died in their sleep.” Annie said before sobbing more. “It was only a dream, right? You can’t die in real life, right?”

“Definitely!” Brain Storm said. “You can only die in your dreams and real life in horror movies.”

Annie took notice of the disturbed and horrified Rarity.

“Rarity…? Are you okay sugarcube?” Applejack asked. Rarity just broke into hysterics, sobbing and crying as she realized she had the same dream. Then Dug and Kicker died in real life, just like they did in the dream.

“Officers, please restrain her!” Chalk Board exclaimed. So nearby police officers grabbed Rarity and did their best to restrain her.

“IT WAS JUST A DREAM! IT WAS JUST A DREAM!” Rarity repeats as she continued wailing. It took a sedative from Brain Storm to finally calm her down while they waited for an ambulance to arrive and took her to the nearest mental hospital.
