Octavia let out what she thought was her 100th sigh since starting her journey this morning, and it surly wouldn't be her last. She was trying to figure out how her life had come to this. Sitting in a carriage outside a large set of gates waiting to be let in. She knew vary well how this had occurred but she still didn't have to accept it.
The gates would have been beautiful had it not led into what was called "sunset valley spa and rehabilitation center". Such a beautiful name for a nut house. Octavia let out a small little chuckle at her inappropriate joke. This would be her home for the next four months. Worst of all she wasn't allowed to bring her cello. All this because of a breakdown after the Grand Galloping Galla and the pink terror of a pony forcing her to play the pony pokey. All she wanted to do was keep the princesses happy and to do so she thought pleasing the close friends of princess Celestia's number one student happy was the way to do it. But that had turned out all wrong for her. Not even (other members of orchestra playing) had suffered the kind of backlash that she suffered afterwords and all thanks to her breakdown in such a public place. She was ordered to undergo four months of treatment for severe social anxiety disorder. That wasn't even the worst of the problems, with that brake down came the inevitable fall out. The pointing the hushed whispers behind her back she could deal with. No the biggest problem was going to be the the snubbing and the black listing from almost all things involving the classical world within Canterlot.
the Canterlot nobles that would have hired her for garden parties, high tea and there nightly balls would now all think not twice but three times before hiring her. After all the other disasters of the night had come to a close and she was sitting around one of the tables in what was left of the gala two of the most respected nobles approached her, Hoity Toity and Photo Finish. They approached she new this was either going to be bad news or terrible.
She was suddenly brought out of her memories and she felt the carriage come to a sudden lurching halt and not a few seconds later the driver opening the door for her. She sighed again and stepped out of the carriage. It took her eyes a few seconds to adjust to the light change from the inside of the carriage. When they had adjusted she peered up at the building that would be her home for the next 4 months. The front looked like an old Victorian home complete with vines climbing up the front the windows were bright and clean some open to let in the cool summer breeze. This was something that struck her as rather odd. One would expect that the windows would have bars over them preventing any completely crazy pony form trying to jump out them. She did not expect them to open. Maybe the front housed all the administration offices and personal offices of the doctors and the ones in the back were for the patents. Those would certainly be barred. coming down the polished marble steps came four ponies. Two earth ponies a unicorn and a pegasus.
The two earth ponies were of mild build lean and very toned. the only way to really tell the difference in there dark brown almost black coats was one of them had a white streak down the front of his muzzle. Octavia really didn't get a good look at there cutie marks as they were wearing long white coats. The unicorn had on a tie and a collar not dis-similar to her own collar. His coat was a apple red and a cutie mark of an very uncomfortable looking couch. The pegasus wore nothing at all. she would have been more surprised if she had been wearing something. She was a light gold in color and the tips of her wing feathers were dyed a pale green color, Octavia wasn't sure weather this was natural or if it was dyed this way. Her cutie mark was that of an oddly shaped "U" with an "I" in the middle.
The two earth ponies walked up to her two suitcases and picked them up and started to head back inside. The unicorn approached Octavia with a light smile while the pegasus beamed brightly. The unicorn stopped just in front of Octavia and held out a hoof while introducing himself "my name is Dr. Psyc the head day psychologist and this is Dr. Psyc or head night doctor and before you ask there is no relation just and odd coincidence. I must say it is a pleasure to meet you miss melody. It's a real honer that you have chosen to stay with us during you recovery."
Octavia took the offered hand and gently shook it "I am sure it will be an enjoyable stay" she said rather awkwardly. What else was she to say when she really had no choice but to be here. It's not like she could say she was looking forward to it. That would be a bold faced lie and they would see right through it. Thankfully she was saved from trying to come up with anything else to say by the other doctor stepping in.
"Yes it's wonderful to have you here. Would you like to come inside and we will discus you stay with us over a light lunch and cup of tea" the bright smile never leaving her face.
Again for the up tee-nth time that day she sighed. there was no going back now. "Sure that sounds like a wonderful idea" she said with as much cheer as she could muster. Now or never i guess.
