My Little Guardian

When John Milton wrote Paradise Lost, he spent the first lines invoking the muses because it was too big a story to tell for a single being. Or, something along those lines. But I like the idea myself, and I can't help relate.

I haven't written on this site before, and my first submission is to be a grand epic (or so I intend). The thing is, I don't believe in muses. I do believe in really, really good stories, and the MLP fandom has had some really fantastic ones. The first time I read Fallout: Equestria, I laughed through the first few chapters because I couldn't believe a story could combine candy-colored ponies with post-apocalyptic survival. I stuck with it, and to this day hold it to be a better story than a lot of the ones I studied in my 300 level courses. I remember desperately trying to study for tedious midterms, riiiiight after the next chapter of The Immortal Game. And I think I spent more hours watching Friendship is Witchcraft than I have the show it's based on in all its seasons.

So to Kkat, AestheticB, Sherclop Pones, and all the other producers of intoxicating action, drama and comedy... thank you. I would never have committed to telling a story if I didn't have your shoulders to stand on.

And thank you, Destiny, for not really having a story whatsoever. It really gave me a lot of room for artistic license! But you guys made Halo so I still love you. And yes, you guys are charging thirty five bucks for expansions so we can fight and kill the same guys we've been fighting and killing since the beginning of the game... but it was either a crossover with you, or Armored Core. I chose this game because it was new and I'm too dumb to write anything about giant robot mecha. Space magic, it is.

Now, let's read a story about a mary su... original character... and hope that some literary technique rubbed off.
