Silence

The Pegasus sat in his temporary jail cell when the barred door opened.

"Your turn." a guard said solemnly. The other six guards were carrying chains and a chestplate. The pegasus stood up and stayed still as the chestplate was put on him restricting his wings from moving. A guard lifted up the blue pegasus' eye patch when he stopped him.

"Please, my kids are out there." the pegasus said in a calm tone. The guard scoffed but left the eye patch. The chains were connected to loops on the chestplate and each guard except the one that spoke first clipped the chain on their chestplate to restrain him from running away.

"It's time." The guard said solemnly again but couldn't meet the pegasus' eyes. He nodded and walked forward and the six marched along a distance away from the sides of the pegasus while the one guard who spoke the most walked in front. The chains clanked each step he took. They walked through a hallway to a bright light - so bright that the pegasus had to stop so his eyes to focus. After his eyes had settled he walked forward and looked up at the guards standing on top of the raised platform. He slowly trotted up the stairs and towards the noose. One of the guards walked over to a lever.

"Ladies and gentlecolts! We have here the father of the worlds most wanted pirate!" A loud and bellowing voice echoed through the courtyard. The pegasus walked forward a little more and let the guards tie the noose around his neck. The six guards connected to the chain unlatched themselves of all the chains.

"This man raised a brutal killer and thief. Stealing millions of supplies each week and killing anyone in her way! Shouldn't he pay for what he's done?" The same voice shouted. There were screams and cheers of joy.

"NO!" A unicorn screamed. She was locked up in a cell with another young pegasus and a unicorn foal left of the pegasus. He smiled gently then looked forward again.

"He should be HANGED for his crimes!"

The pegasus looked up. He closed his eyes and let his daughter's song flow through his lips.

"years will pass and our hair will be grey"

"Pull the lever!"

"But I'll still remember this glorious day."

"I said PULL THE LEVER!"

"The light shines brightly ahead of us all,"

"But why sir? This man has done nothing!"

"We won't stop until all of them fall."

"PULL THE LEVER OR I WILL SHOOT YOU!"

Two trapdoors opened up underneath the pegasus.

Silence...

The wind blew the cold, dead body slightly making it sway slightly from side to side.
