Author's Note

Well, there's the Prologue. Hope you all enjoy, and if not, feel free to leave any form of criticism down in the comments... just please don't be too harsh.

As for the cliffhanger, I can't give away too much of the story, and I need to think of what to happen next.

One more thing. I am accepting OCs, and ideas of how to continue this from anyone who's interested. Say you want a romance, tell me who it is. Say you want him to fight for his life, it'll happen. The choice is yours.

Prologue

Isaac Clarke rushed through the structures of the planet, intending on getting to the ship before Kendra flies off in it, and so he wouldn't be left there for dead. He was still feeling pain over seeing Nicole kill herself, tears still running down his cheeks behind his Military Suit Visor, and the Pulse Rifle in his hands. He knew there was no configuration in the video, and that every second was real, which made it all the harder for him. He hasn't said a word throughout this entire thing, going everywhere people told him to go, and doing his best to do what they said was needed. But after that, and what Kendra did... he didn't know what was right anymore. The whole mission felt like a simple distraction so Kendra could get that Marker... and it could have been for all he knew, but he wasn't going to let her drag this horror to Earth. There was no room in hell for that, only enough for her and anyone who held her ideas.

Isaac punched the switch to the door blocking his path, making it open with a groan, and revealing the small dock for the ship he got here with. He then ran out to the large clearing, but ended up almost falling over from the ground quaking under his boots, forcing him to grab hold of the wall to his side for balance. But instead of keeping to the wall, the ground shook even more, sending him rolling across the ground with a few grunts and groans. Once he was steady, albite on his back, he saw Kendra running up the catwalks to the shuttle, and then Isaac saw a massive tentacle slither along the ground.

Isaac rolled a little for getting to his feet as Kendra was in shock and horror. "Oh my God!" She ran for the shuttle, but the tentacle slapped her off and onto the ground, all the while Isaac was holding his arm in the air. Once the tentacle slammed onto her, ripping her apart, he lifted his arm in front of his visor, to keep the flying blood from hitting it, and out of shock of what just happened. It flung the rest of her aside, and went back below the docks, all the while Isaac got to his feet, and readied his Pulse Rifle. Nothing came at first, making him take a few steps forward out of caution, but then went wide eyed when another tentacle slithered onto the docks, wrapping around him so he couldn't go anywhere, and another tentacle slithered onto the ground. And that was when he saw it.

The Hive Mind.

The massive creature was horrific, and monstrous. Isaac was horrified such a thing even existed, but he knew he wasn't going down without a fight.

The creature then roared at Isaac, which made him see the five yellow orbs, causing him to remember that they were the soft tissue, and aimed his Pulse Rifle. This was also noticed by the creature, who pulled back, but immediately roared in pain when Isaac began to unload his rifle onto it, tearing away yellow tissue until it exploded. The creature roared a wail that sent ice down Isaac's spine, all the while it waved back and forth in pain.

It then lifted a tentacle high in the air, making Isaac's eyes widen as it came down in full force. Isaac managed to roll out of the way, but ended up stomach first on the ground. He quickly got to his feet, which wasn't an easy task in his suit, but it gave him a chance to put the Pulse Rifle away and pull out a Contact Beam. He took note of it roaring at him again, which made him fire off his gun, and the soft tissue of another yellow orb exploded, making it send out that wail once again, and freezing Isaac in his place. He was immediately hit by one of the tentacles, throwing him into the larger one, and sending pain throughout his body while giving out a scream.

Isaac groaned as he pushed himself away from the tentacle behind him, and the RIG was in the yellow now. This caused him to use a medpack quickly, and felt the pain stop to a simple throbbing. With this done, he aimed his Contact Beam at the creature again, and fired it, causing the third soft tissue to explode, and making the creature send out another wail. It then slammed a tentacle next to Isaac, wrapping around his foot, making him go wide eyed, and slammed him onto the ground. He felt the pain immediately begin again, and he dropped the Contact Beam, loosing it as he tried with no success in pulling his leg free of the tentacle.

The monster then pulled Isaac across the ground, making him try to grasp it all the way, only to be held in front of it's giant mouth. Isaac groaned as he grabbed the Plasma Cutter on his waist, and aimed it at the soft tissue, firing off as many Plasma Blades as he could, until one of them exploded. It roared in anger as blood shot out of the hole in a massive pool, before it looked at him again, an even bigger want to eat him quickly. But Isaac managed to shoot the last tissue, making it explode after a few shots. It roared in the worst wail yet before tossing Isaac onto the ground, and pulling back.

Isaac coughed a few times as he looked towards the monster, seeing his Plasma Cutter on the ground next to him, and grabbed it as he watched the monster raise high into the air, exposing the yellow tissue against it's chest. This made Isaac go wide eyed, look to his side, and saw the Contact Beam laying a few feet away. He quickly holstered the cutter, dove for the beam, and got to his feet as fast as possible before he charged it, and fired.

One of the many tissues exploded, making it wail in pain, then look down at him, slamming another tentacle close to his side, before another beam was fired, hitting another of the tissues. It wailed again, and slammed it's tentacles at Isaac over and over again, trying to rid itself of his life. Thankfully, with quick thinking, and lucky timing, Isaac got out of the way each time, and fired again, hitting a third orb of tissue. Three down, three to go.

After two more times of what was beginning to feel like cat and mouse, Isaac wasn't so lucky when he was slammed onto the ground by a tentacle, making him scream in agony as he felt blood leaking from his forehead. He used all his might to look at the monster, seeing the last orb in view, which made him use as much of his will and hope as possible, aimed the contact beam from under the tentacle, and shot it, making the last explosion.

It roared in pain, pulling the tentacle off of Isaac as it struggled to stay up, swinging back and forth, before finally it's entire body fell forward, landing right in front of Isaac, and finally slipped off of the docks, finally disappearing down below.

Isaac coughed harshly as he pushed himself to his elbows, using one of his remaining medpacks to get rid of the pain and wounds, and leaving him somewhat better than before. He groaned as he slowly got to his feet, placing a hand on his helmet, and was thankful that it was still in one piece. Isaac then limped his way to the shuttle, through the majority of the ship, quickly hacked the door, and sat down in the pilot seat. He then quickly began to run his fingers along the holographic controls, and got the shuttle into the air.

The ship lurched harshly to the side, spinning wildly as Isaac grabbed the controls, and braced himself as the ship continued to spin, until finally it stopped, and he could see the planet through the window. He then saw white ice rushing at his shuttle, and covered his eyes for the impact.

...

Isaac pressed a few buttons, while the only thing outside of the window was the stars of space. After a little bit, he began to unseal his helmet, pulled it off, and dropped it on the ground, slumping against the chair, and sighing heavily. Fresh tears began to run down his cheeks as he remembered earlier, causing him to place his hand against his face, and ran it down until his thumb and point finger were against his eyes, and he began to rub them. He still couldn't believe all that happened... but he knew he'd never forget it, no matter how hard he tried to.

With another sigh, he removed his fingers, and looked at the screen, seeing the video he watched earlier playing. When it started, however, he turned it off, activated Light Speed, and then shut off the holograms, shaking his head as a few more tears ran down his face.

Just then he heard someone breathing, while the sound of a suit made his eyes narrow. He slowly turned his head to the co-pilot seat, and gasped when he saw the blood covered face of Nicole lung at him, screaming in a high vocal, and then everything went black.

...Unknown Location...

A lone, alicorn mare stood alone on the balcony of her Palace, and sighed heavily as she looked amongst the land she called home. She was a tall, white, and regal mare, with a flowing rainbow mane that drifted in an invisible breeze, and soft, magneta eyes. Her white, furled wings were well groomed, and soft to the touch, and the sun on her flank symbolized an unknown element about her. Her golden crown glimmered ever so slightly in the moonlight, while her eyes scanned each town and village across her fair land.

This, was Princess Celestia.

Princess Celestia gave out another sigh as she looked among her land, before her gaze shifted upwards, seeing the Moon, which held the dark shadow of a mare's head. Said Moon stood in the sky, it's unknown origins to the ponies still casting either haunting or curious emotions throughout the land, but none of them held the amount of sadness that Celestia held in her heart. Many memories of what laid there swam through her mind as she whispered in the softest of tones.

"I'm sorry..."

Princess Celestia shook her head, knowing there was no point in dwelling over this matter, and turned to her quarters, ready to get some sleep, and hope for a wonderful day tomorrow. She knew the Summer Sun Celebration will be held tomorrow until the day after, so she needed to keep her thoughts under control for when the day comes.

However, she did stop when she felt something enter the star system of her home, which made her cast a glance towards the sky. There was nothing that she could see, but she felt something, she wasn't sure what, but it felt like... almost like Discord's Chaos... but much darker... and much more dangerous from what she could feel. She didn't know what it was, but she knew something bad would happen if not investigated eventually. She will have to figure it out tomorrow, but tonight, she needed some sleep.

...

Deep in space, almost right above an unknown planet, a single, white hole opened up. It seemed to just stand there, unmoving aside from the shifts of the white rim. But what came out of it was the most intriguing. A single shuttle.

The shuttle stopped just outside of the hole, which closed behind it, and just drifted there, moving ever so slightly towards the planet. It seemed to be lifeless. But that didn't stop it from entering the planet's atmosphere, and begin it's flaming descent towards the surface.

The shuttle hurtled itself into the dark forest that rested just outside of a small town, and crashed deep inside, continuing it's journey a few more miles, then settling down in one of the more dangerous parts of the forest. Many metal pieces of the shuttle littered everywhere, almost everything having fallen apart, and many chunks of metal dug into the ground.

Amongst the wreckage, a lone arm laid under a massive pile of debris, and looked to be connected to whatever was under the debris.

And then, a single finger twitched, before the hand closed.
