The Pain Never Truly Fades

Soarin let loose an inarticulate yell of rage as he surged forward, allowing his momentum to carry over into a fierce kick below the ribs. “Don’t you dare talk to me like that! I see you for what you really are: a monster, an abomination to Equestria!”

I think, once Dash finds out you were working with him all along, I can get her back!”

With a crack of keratin on flesh, the hoof struck my jaw, splitting my lip in the process. “If you won’t admit it and fix all the things you fucked up, I’ve got a plan in motion to make sure you spend the rest of your life miserable and alone.”
For once, I managed to hold my tongue; provoking him would only earn me another kick. A trickle of blood began to seep from the corner of my mouth as I sat in silence. It was a bit alarming, but I couldn’t spare more than a moment’s thought to ponder where it came from—probably a broken tooth or cut to my cheek.
“Now, Dawn, tell me why you really took over Dash’s body,” he demanded, the volume of his voice rising with every syllable. “Tell me why you mocked our courtship by sleeping with me. Tell me why you had to go and steal her from me!”
When I didn’t respond immediately, he slammed his hoof on the ground mere inches from my face. I knew he wouldn’t accept the answer, but with a defeated sigh, I looked up at him. “I woke up in her body, and I did everything I could to get out of it. I slept with you because I wanted Dash to be happy and I wanted you two to be together, even though I wasn’t comfortable with it at all. She was fully aware of it every waking moment,” I said before baring my teeth. “Turns out you were too big of an asshole for me to even try to fix; you sabotaged yourself!”
Soarin snorted, rearing up on his hind legs to tower over me. I knew it would hurt like fuck, and couldn’t help but flinch as his hooves came down. Thankfully, the sheer agony was enough to force all conscious thought from my head.
I can’t deny anything; it didn’t take me very long to lose track of how long I spent in that cell. The psychopathic bastard was just too intent on forcing a confession out of me. After being beaten hour after hour and being splashed with icy water every time I tried to closed my eyes, I was very nearly ready to give him what he wanted, even if it was a lie. If I could just refuse to eat it, I knew I could deprive him of any more fun in torturing me... So what if that was the coward’s way out?
I couldn’t do it, though. Even if I could have conquered my starvation, the thought of my leaving my friends alone just to spite him was too much to bear. My death would hurt them more than Soarin beating me within a hair’s breadth of death repeatedly ever could.
With a defeated sigh, I crept toward the bowl and struggled to get my mouth over the bowl. Though it was cold, the broth and vegetables were just too tantalizing to pass up. Besides, if I were to get out of this, I’d need my strength; Soarin had to slip up eventually, and my friends would come—they had to. Either way, his day would come.
It felt only like seconds since I’d taken my first mouthful, but I was now greedily licking the last remnants of the soup from the bowl. “Why was it so good?” I could barely whisper, before my stomach began to seize. “Damn it!” I shouted, condemning my own gullibility even as the soup began to tear at my insides. Of course a coward like him would resort to poisoning me! That’s why he kidnapped me... that’s why he beat me while bound... that’s why...
As what little light was present in the room drained away, I prayed that I might never wake up again.
I guessed I wasn’t so lucky as to die when I came to. My body was draped haphazardly over a wooden table. Hyper-extended to the point I thought they might dislocate at the shoulders, my forelegs were bound and stretched out in front of me. Some of you are probably wondering why Seven of all people is doing a reimagining of events that have already happened in Kaidan's 'Dash of Humanity' canon. I'd like to think that it's no great secret that I consider Kaidan a friend here on FIMFiction, and that the two of us share a mutual appreciation for each other's work. When it came to the Launch of the first two chapters of 'Consequences', there seemed to be at least some people expecting a cloptional side-story. Kaidan himself seemed rather unsure that he was even going to write them this time around, noting in a Skype conversation that he felt they detracted from the second story.
I had a twofold reason for wanting to write this. The first reason is nothing special; I like dark stories, and I was rather disappointed that the emotionally scarring rape scene was Smash Cut and skipped—because I am a horrible person—and of course was inspired to write. There was also a part of me that was kind of put off to see people expecting clop side-chapters for a story where the central character was brutally raped in the opening act. I wanted to hammer in that rape is traumatic and that you are a horrible person for expecting a recent rape victim, one that is now bearing a child who may very well be her rapist's, to be involved in anything other than therapy and receiving support from her friends.
So of course, I brought it up with Kaidan, and offered to write the rape scene in his stead.
