Rainbow-Dash was walking around the local candy store looking for something to satisfy her sweet tooth. After searching and searching, she couldn't find anything. Why in equesria did they never have anything she wanted? It bugged her so much. After a few more minutes, she still couldn't find a thing she'd like. So she stepped out of the store, said 'bye' to the store clerk, and began to fly home. She reached her house and instantly, like always, saw the big pool of strange rainbow-juice-stuff. She didn't think much of it and went into her home, and just flopped down on her bed, her tooth getting more agitated every minute.
"Dang it," she said to herself. "This is starting to get me mad. What can I do to satisfy my swee-EUREKA! I've got it! I'll make my very own candy! It will be a hit! Now all I have to do is go to Pinkie-Pie and maybe she can help me out with a recipe to make my candy. IMMA MAKE A FORTUNE!" And with that, Rainbow was on her way to Sugarcube Corner.

"Really?! You're going to make you own candy? I'm so excited I can,hardly breathe!"Pinkie exclaimed. "I mean its so cool that you are goi-"
"Pinkie-Pie!" shouted Rainbow-Dash.
"Yes, Rainbow?"
"I need your help making a recipe for this candy. I want them to be small, come in all kinds of flavors, and be really chewy. Do you think you can do that?"
"Well, I'll try. I think I could come up with something. What flavors do you have in mind?"
"I was thinking strawberry, green apple, orange, grape, and lemon. Colors being, in that same order, red, green, orange, purple, and yellow."
"Okie-dokie-lokie! Ill think of something. I'll tell you when ive found the recipe."
"Awesome! In the mean time, I'll try to think of a name for the candy."
"Sweet! I'll see you later!"

"No, that name's horrible. Speedies? No, that's worse. Rushers? Oh, what am I thinking?! I just can't think of a word and modify it! I need my own, new, original word. Now what is there..?" Rainbow was in a deep state of thought. Searching the deep recesses of her mind to find a name. "I've got i- no. The name needs to be about twenty percent cooler. Huzzah! Now ive found the perfect name! Skittles! Yes! Ive gotta tell Pinkie-Pie!" And with that, Rainbow-Dash sped off to Sugarcube Corner.
"Pinkie-Pie! I've found the per-" No sooner had Rainbow walked in the door, Pinkie-Pie shoved a hoof-full of chewy, gooey, sugary things in Rainbow's mouth. "Hmmm! These are delicious! Thanks, Pinkie!"
"No problem, Dash. Although, I do have to say, these things are the first sweets I've put in my mouth that I didn't like. Oh well! To each his own, I guess."
"Hmmmm. Oh well! I'm sure others will love these things! How many are made?"
"Well...about...I'd say...25 batches."
"Cool. I guess before I sell them, I had better give out a few free samples."
"Good idea!"

"Come and get it!" Rainbow-Dash yelled from her little display of her brand new candy. "Free samples of a brand spankin' new candy! Who'd be brave enough to give it a try?"
After about two hours of ponies coming over to her display, tasting the candy, and not liking it, Rainbow realized that every pony in Ponyville, except Twilight, who didn't come out of her library today, had tried her candies. Instantly, Rainbow ran over to Twilight's library and furiously knocked on the door.
"Hello?" Twilight said when she opened the door. Right then and their, Rainbow-Dash shove a bunch of Skittles into Twilight's mouth and said:
"Tell me what you think!"
With a shocked, suprised look on her face, Twilight began to chew the candy, then swallowed it. "Eh its good, but not enough for me to try it again."
"What's going on?" Spike asked as he walked into the room.
"I've invented a candy and I'm seeing if anypony around here likes it," Rainbow-Dash said.
"Well, I'll give 'em a go."
"Really? You will?"
"Sure! Why not, right?"
As soon as Spike said those words, Rainbow-Dash shoved a hoof-full of the candies in his mouth. She waited in anticipation to see if Spike would like the candies.
"Ehhhhh...I guess it's sorta good."
"UHG! Fine. Twilight, please just get rid of these stupid, dream-crushing candies in a way where I can NEVER see them again. EVER."
"Umm, ok." Twilight said as her horn glowed. Then she opened a strange portal, levitated the Skittles, and threw them into the portal. "Well that takes care of that."
"Twilight? Where did they go?"
Twilight scratched her head for a moment before replying:"I don't know."
"Good. That's all I need to know."
Meanwhile, somewhere in London
Mr. Skittle was walking down the street one day when he looked up at the sky and saw a rainbow. He wondered what a rainbow might taste like. Suddenly, he was knocked onto the ground by something hitting his head. When he looked at the bag in front of him, he picked it up and looked inside, saw what was in it, and ate it, the strange stuff looking like food. "Amazing!" He yelled. "I shall call these wonderful treats Skittles..."

I made this dumb story on an impulse. I hope all of you like it anyway, so please enjoy this story! (Oh yeah, in case any of you were wondering, a man named Mr. Skittle actually, in real life, invented Skittles. Look it up. I did.)
