His mind strayed to the possibility of the newest update and what it entailed. It had been announced some weeks previously and was due to open up in the next minute. Tereth, like other players,  has been extremely excited. A notification pinged on his computer. Heroes of Equis Greetings Heroes! We are proud to announce the latest update! * New Hero Classes * New NPCs * New Armor When you log on you will be offered a new choice of class! Your levels will not change, and all your items with stay. However, you will have your armor reset depending on your choice of class. Have a nice day! -Moderators Tereth opened up the game and the choice was offered. Choose your class! Mage Cleric Warrior Scribe Tank Assassin Samurai Swashbuckler Guard Healer Angel Priest Thief Paladin Tereth clicked Angel out of curiousity, and suddenly his screen glitched out. The chat for the game opened up. Player tags spoke rapidly. "Whats going on?" "Why's it doing this?" "Man! I was so hoping to join!" "And then I said, 'The chickens never loved you!'" Tereth groaned and private messaged his guildmates. "What's going on?" asked the little bubble with his name. "Game's broken at the moment, dude," said another one marked Blitz. "Why?" Tereth asked. "Must be corruption in the files. They're working on it right now," answered Blitz. Suddenly the game screen loaded and all the avatars appeared in the city plaza. "Great!" "Finally!" One bubble stood out from the rest. "I fixed it?" Then the screen went black along with every players vision. Tereth opened his eyes to see the exact plaza from the game. It was the plaza of the player city, referred to by NPCs as Heron, home of heroes. To all the players it was a hub of guild, party, and shopping. It would be wrong to say that Heron wasn't all that important. Like all the players Tereth recognized it instantly. Looking around there were many different reactions ranging from, "Cool..." to total freak out. Tereth made his way towards what was the guild hall when he stumbled over something. He felt different and checked his reflection in the mirror. An image something similar to this gazed back. Tereth gaped. So Angel was a female class... She touched her face. "Wow..." spoke a melodious voice. In fact it was her voice. Tereth looked around. Her armor, being only level one, would need to be updated quickly so she made her way to the nearby Armory merchant. "Good afternoon miss! What can I get you?" "Just-" she cut herself off. In the middle of the weapons was a new weapon and it was marked as Angel class. That wasn't what caught her eye, the name was. The weapon was called Caliber. She tapped it and an information box appeared. The Weapon would only present itself to someone with both Angel class and dual wield. This stopped her again. Dual-wield had been dreamed and was possible to acquire but she had never gained it. She tapped it and the total, a disturbingly affordable one, rang up. She still had more than enough for armor so she purchased the weapon. She only just finished equipping it when someone ran by. "I can't believe it! They're saying that Stirl of The Star Briganda is opening to challengers for the first time!" The person called to his friend. Intriqued, Tereth followed. When she got to the combat ring, Stirl was dealing the dual ending blow. The dual notification for End appeared and the Briganda cheered Stirl on. "Who's next?" he called out. His murderous gaze pierced the crowd and no one stepped up. "No one? Fine I'll choose myself." He scanned the crowd again and his eyes came to rest on Tereth. "You there. Girl with the wings. Come on up." Befpre Tereth could speak up Briganda members pushed her forward. To accept a dual in HoE all anyone had to do was enter the ring. The notification rang up and gave Tereth time to equip her first weapon but not her newer sword. Stirl pushed forward driving the sword into her own. She pushed back and swung. Her sword moved faster than it had in the game due to her being the one to move it. Stirl's overly happy faced became serious. They rapidly swapped blows. Stirl never landed a blow but Tereth landed multiple. Finally he backed off and switched weapons. Tereth we equipped Caliber. The crowd gasped. Only the best players had dual-wield. Not even Stirl himself. The man flew forward and out of instinct Tereth dodged and then brought her swords together in a swing. Suddenly the Win notification appeared. The crowd went silent. Slowly clapping started. "Amazing! She beat Stirl flawlessly!" People flooded forward and started clapping Tereth on the back. A figure made his way through the crowd. It was Stirl. "Good fight miss." He shook her hand, "Cn I interest you in joining the Briganda?" "No sorry. I've got a guild," Tereth said looking slightly uncomfortable. "Which one?" Stirl inquired. "The Ranger Corps," was her answer. A figure behind her clasped her shoulder. "Yup. Isn't that right Commandant?" She turned around and before her stood Blitz, a shorter man of the assassin class. He had dark black hair and blue eyes with a scraggly beard on his face, clearly, he never shaved. That aside he had apparently re-crafted their signature cloak and was handing one to Tereth. She took it and equipped it. "That's right Blitz." She turned away from Stirl. Several Weeks Later The people had adjusted well and The Ranger Corps grew quite fast. The original group now waited in the throne room to greet the Princesses of Equestria. After a trumpet, three alicorns stepped out from the back of the room. One white, with the sun, one blue, with the moon, one pink, with love. Celestia spoke up first. "I've waited some time for you heroes to send a representative. I assume that's you?" She turned to Tereth. "Wha- Why would it be me?" She asked, tilting her head. "You look to be most powerful and that's how you heroes judge isn't it?" She asked, seemingly convinced. "Fine, fine. Its me. I am Tereth, Angel Class, Commandant of The Ranger Corps. Representative of Heron," Tereth spoe this with conviction. "I am Celestia, Diarch Princess of Equestria and, Lady of The Sun. This, she pointed at the blue alicorn, "Is my sister Luna, Diarch Princess of Equestria, and Lady of The Moon. Finally we have Cadence, Empress of the Crystal Empire, Alicorn of Love."
