The morning sun was lifted into the sky as its beams of light hit a particular set of curtains. The rest of the house was open letting in the morning light, inside the room next to the shut off room there was an gray earth pony finishing her morning routine. After drying off her silky smooth coat she leaves her mane wet, not dripping more damp than anything else, like she does every morning. A little trick she learnt from Rarity about hair or something, (I don’t know i’m not a stylist.) She continues her morning activities in her room, tidying up, making the bed and all that kind of stuff before she then drys her mane completely, (I don’t know why there’s a focus on the mane there just is :p .)
After finishing all that she makes her way out of her room to go downstairs and sort out some breakfast for herself and Vinyl. At that point something dawns on her.
“Where even is that unicorn?” She says aloud. Turning away from the stairs she makes her way to Vinyls “study”. Before entering the room she glances at the things stuck to the door. From top to bottom it reads Vinyls study, all ponys keep out, this is where the magic happens. Octavia giggles to herself a little after reading them.
“If any pony looked at this they would think this was some kind of work room. She paused for a moment before letting out a little sigh.
“Instead it’s just her slacking off and hiding from social events room, the only magic that’s ever happened in there was when her and myself…” She stopped, her face taking a pale red blush as her mind began to remember those activities. Octavia then shook her head to get rid of the thoughts as she slowly pushed the door open, just incase Vinyl was asleep as she didn't want to wake her.
As the door opened the light from the hall burst into the room instantly lighting the dark place.
“Hey close that!” The unicorn snapped at Octavia.
“Sorry.” she replied sounding slightly confused and pushing the door closed again returning the room to it’s dark state.
“What are you doing?” Octavia asked looking curiously at Vinyl.
“I’m working on the greatest thing you could… could…” Vinyls voice failed as she continued to to fiddle about with her dj equipment.
“How long have you been awake?” Octavias face looking a little concerned.
“Ha, sleeps not impor… I just got to finish thi… I’m so in the zone and I…” Vinyl was unable to make full sentences, she was just stringing some words together with long pauses in between.
“UHH!” Octavia grones in an over exaggerating manner.
“So why are you working in the dark?” Her voice now just sounding annoyed.
“Because… I... it helps with… stuff…” Vinyl mumbles out.
“Stuff.” Octavia replies sarcastically.
“You know… focusing and all that stuff.” Vinyl answers still never stopping whatever she’s doing on her dj equipment.
“Oh sweet Celestia.” Octavias hoof hitting her face as she spoke. after her hoof returned to the ground she made her way over to the still closed curtains. With a firm grip she pulls them open letting the rays of light enter the room.
“OH CELESTIA MY EYES!” Vinyl screamed as both her front hooves came up to cover her eyes, the force from her reaction knocked herself to the floor. All Octavia could do in this situation was was watch and giggle slightly as Vinyl got back onto her hooves. Octavia trotted over to the piece of equipment that Vinyl was using a looks at it for a moment.
“Uhh Vinyl.” She started glancing over to her.
“What.” she said rubbing her head looking like she was in a little bit of pain.
“What’s this about, It’s called to a special…” She started reading the title but was interrupted.
“Don’t look at that! It’s supposed to be a surprise.” Vinyl panicked as she spoke.
“A surprise?” Octavia said sounding confused again. A surprise ment a secret, and Vinyl was never good with keeping secrets.
“Yes… you see I kind of… well…” Vinyl was unable to get the right words out. She let out a small groan before trying again.
“I had this big plan for are anniversary, It was going to be this big thing with a romantic dinner at this fancy place and the highlight of the night was going to be this.” She pointed at her piece of equipment, her face looking a little embarrassed.
“But then while setting up everything else up I kind of forgot about this bit and then the anniversary was in a couple of days and I panicked thinking that I wouldn't get it done so I kind of stayed up all night to try and finish it.” Vinyl finished explaining, completely out of breath she was just staring at Octavia waiting for a reaction.
“Vinyl I…” The earth pony was stunned, unable to think of a reaction.
“I know I messed up, I’m sorry but I really tried to fix it and…” Vinyl tried to keep explaining as her eyes teared up a little before she was interrupted.
“You stop those tears right now.” Octavia said with a little giggle as she trotted over and hugged Vinyl giving her a little kiss on the muzzle.
“You’re trying too hard.” Octavia said with a reassuring voice.
“What.” Vinyl said sounding really confused.
“I thought that you were supposed to make a stupid big deal out of an anniversary.” She continued.
“Well that is the normal thing to do and I love that you are putting so much personal love into this but you really don’t have to freak out like this. If you were really worried about not being able to finish it in time you should have just told me.” Octavias voice having a happy tone as she smiled at the teary eyed unicorn in her arms.
“Now come on, dry those tears and sort yourself out it’s about time we had some breakfast and probably get you some coffee.” Octavia said letting Vinyl go as she got up and walked to the door.
“Right, ok i’ll be ready in a second.” She smiled at Octavia as she left to room and trotted down the hall. Vinyl sat down thinking to herself for a minute.
“I am so lucky to have her.” She said with a smile as she got up and made her way to the bathroom. She had a quick shower, not really to clean herself more to just let the water run down her body as she didn't want to keep Octavia waiting. She got out and dried herself off fast before heading downstairs to meet Octavia again in the kitchen. Breakfast was had as they discussed various little details about what they would be doing for their anniversary.
“So where were you planning on taking me?” Octavia asked Vinyl after breakfast was done with.
“Well I was kind of thinking that you know it was a surprise.” Vinyl explained with a simple hoof gesture.
“Considering you already told me everything else I didn't think it would matter.” Octavia giggled.
“What’s up with all the giggling, you’re normally super serious, especially in the mornings?” Vinyl asked after taking another sip of coffee.
“Well first of all I think in the past year I have really learnt how to chillaxe.” Octavia continued with her little giggles.
“Never ever ever say that again, EVER AGAIN.” Vinyl protested Octavias choice of words.
“Why not Scratch? What’s wrong with the word chillaxe? I was just being cool.” Octavia said in a playful tone.
“There is absolutely nothing cool about the word chillaxe, plus it sounds odd coming from you, I expect some fancy word I don’t know the meaning of.” Vinyl started to rant before getting back on track.
“Anyway why are you so giggly?” Vinyl asked back on her original point.
“Humm, I don’t know, it might have something to do with the fact it’s are anniversary tomorrow but I guess it could be anything.” Octavia said sarcastically with a playful smile.
“Right right point taken, don’t get me wrong i’m dead stoked for it to but setting all this stuff up and keeping it a surprise was hard for me.” Vinyl explained.
“I understand, so come on I want some details, what do I need to do?” Octavia asked keeping her smile.
“I already told you it’s a surprise, all I need you to do is look pretty and be ready by eight, I’ll handle the rest.” Vinyl cracked a seductive smile at Octavia. The two looked at each other, smiling and with a nod they proceeded there way up stairs to Octavias room where they had sex.
