Chapters "Wake up! Wake up!" A high pitch voice yells in Sharp Blade's ear. It was Ray Of Sunshine. Ray Of Sunshine, or Roy as as some ponies called her had the job to wake up every pony.
Sharp Blade rolls of her bed and lands on top of Roy's hooves. Sharp Blade opens her heavy eyes and stares up at Roy's awake and bright eyes.
"Time for Defender's classes!" Roy says. Then she turned around and went of to wake up more ponies. Sharp Blade picks herself up with a loud yawn. She did a push up and pulls out a water bottle from underneath her pillow. She dumped the bottles contents on her head. She felt refreshed. She was ready for any challenge Defender set for her; stupid or fun she would do it. She wanted to sing, but she didn't. She just rushed to Defender's classroom.
"Hello dear student." Defender said when she came to the door. "You almost came late."
Sharp Blade cursed under her breath. Defender was strict teacher. She blushes and ran inside the room. The room inside was empty except for a couple of statues in the corner of it and the students.
"Hey Sharp Blade!" Someone yells. Its Rose. How did she never notice her in her classroom? "I wanted to join your class." That answered some questions. But why. "Don't like your the only reason I switched. Some my other friends are here." That made sense to her; even if it made her seem like trash.
A few minutes later the class was ready to start. "Ok class I'm going to animate these statues and you can battle them. I'll watch and come on if you need my help. Go to the that wall." She said pointing he horn. We did as she said. Then she pointed her horns and the statues ran to them. A metal earth pony clanked toward her. The pony slowly moved. Sharp Blade took this to her advantage. She rushed forward and bucked the statue at the neck.
"Good job Sharp Blade!" She calls.
`The statue didn't move. Sharp Blade guesses this was how Defender programmed it.
Three hours later a bell rung. It was time for lunch. She gets together with Shield and sits down. After a couple of seconds later Rose came came over with a couple of popular ponies.
"Can I join your table?" She says smoothly.
"Yea why not." Sharp Blade says. They sit down.
"So Rose; what do you think about the class switch?" One of her friends ask her.
"I like almost all of the teachers, but I want to be one of Defenders students. She over sees every pony." Rose replies.
A door opens in the front of the room reviling a interesting sight.
Sharp Blade was ready to fight. She'd trained for ages and her phoenix friend Kindling was helping her. Her enemy's was a changeling and a dragon.
"Your not going to hurt the members of Ponyville!" She screams. Then they attack. She tackles the changeling; sending it up, up and away. She turnes to Kindling who was diving at the dragon. "I'm going to get that guy!" She yelled. Then she turned around and ran towards the dead or alive changeling. Kindling turned to the sound of her voice, but a giant dragon talon knocked him down. He cawed and screamed, but Sharp Blade was out of earshot.
Sharp Blade found the changing curled up in a ball. "He's done for." She murmurs to herself. She was wrong. The changeling picked himself up, turned into her and left at her. Sharp Blade cursed. She turns around and bucks her clone in the face. The changing reacted to the blow by flipping head over feet on to the ground. "Time for the blade." She murmured. She pulled out a sword from her bag and swung it at her enemy. The changeling laughed; just like her. Sharp Blade rushed up ready to surprise the changeling. She tossed the sword the away and bucked the changing against a tree. The changing gasped surprised. Then the changeling became really quiet. "Lnocked out. Hopefully." She says. Then she turned and ran back to see how Kindling was doing. Kindling sat atop a knocked out dragon.
"Are you ok?" Sharp Blade asks.
"Fine.." He caws. Then they both start to walk home. Their home was a huge cottage. In front of it their friends stood. Two ponies rush forward. One was a unicorn named Healer Hooves; that could heal (duh) and the mission leader, Last Standing who was a zebra. "Are you ok?" The unicorn asks. Kindling raised a wing and showed it to her. On it there was a large wound. "Can you heal this?" Kindling asks.
The unicorn bends down tapped the wound and it healed. "Did you defeat them?" Last Standing asks. "What do you think?" Sharp Blade replies. Then she trotted off to the cafe witch was inside the cottage. Inside ponies chat and chew. Some ponies call congress to her. She finds a seat and slips next to her brother, Shield. Her brother was a tall stallion with a green mane and tail. He also had a light blue body color.
"How was the mission?" He asks.
"Ok.." Sharp Blade didn't like jugging missions. All they where was a way to help others. In her option there was no way to measure help to others that they didn't know about, but her brother had different ideas. He measured it by how safe you are and how you took down your enemy's. Some people may call it insane, but she didn't.
"Hello!" The voice came from a little filly with a tray with food atop it.
"Can I have that?" She asks.
"Sure!" She tosses it up in the air. Sharp Blade lunges forward and grabs the tray.
"Thank you."
"Welcome!" She screeches. Then she turns around and trots of.
"What a cutie." Her brother says with a smile. Sharp Blade got ready to reply, but the room grew dark.
"Hello!" Last Standing screams. He walks to the front of the room with a unicorn and a Pegasus. The unicorn was the trainer of the group. She made sure every pony could defend themselves. Her name was Defender. The Pegasus made sure the cottage was top shape. Her name was Fixer.
"Today," Defender say, "we will play paintball." The café cheered. Paintball was rarely played. In the game paintball every pony got a paintball gun. If you got shot you where out. Last one in won. "Ready, set, go!" She screamed. Then the air above glowed mustard yellow and guns fell from the sky, and the chaos began.
Sharp Blade flung her hooves up in the air and grabbed a gun. She fit her hooves around it and spun around shooting pink paint. A glob of paint hit her brothers face.
"I'm out." He says with a laugh.
"Yup!" She got out of her chair and ran about ducking under flying paint. She wanted to try something. She rushed down a hall. It had to be there. It all ways appeared after a mission. It was. A tall golden door stood before her. She steppes inside. In the center of the room there was a large pool. Sharp Blade walked to it and stared down at it. In the water there was always a image, but this time there wasn't. CLICK, something screeched. Sharp Blade felt wet paint on her back. "Your out!" A voice says. She turns around to see her attacker, but she was gone. Sharp Blade thought about washing the paint of but she decided against it. She turns away from the water and leaves the room. At the door there was a small group paint coated ponies.
"Hey." She says.
"Come with us." The leader of the group says. Sharp Blade had a feeling these where the popular pony type. She never paid attention to the popularity chart. This made her unpopular. Why where they asking her to come with her? It could be trap. Or it could be honest. She wanted to expect the second. She always liked expecting the best from people. She followed them up a staircase around a corner and into a room. Ponies walked around the room tracking paint. They started doing popular kid things. Sharp Blade shifted her weigh from hoof to hoof. The door then glows and opens. A unicorn enters. She levitated a open book in front of her and a gun beside of her.
"Rose!" One kid says. "You got out this early! You can do better." The book shuts with magic and fell to the floor; showing the ponies face. Sharp Blade gaspes, and felt horrible for doing it. Some ponies at the cottage had scars, but this pony had like.. a hundred scars. Other than the scars the pony had a short tangled blue mane and tail and a gray coat. The most disturbing about her was her cutie mark. Sure some members of the community had symbolic marks, but most had ordinary objects or weaponry. Her mark was a glowing rainbow egg. Suddenly a question came to Sharp Blade's mind; was this Rose an egg head or a jock?
"No. I didn't get out. You inspect me if you want." Roes says. The pony who had called her out ran over and tested her statement and realized that she was staying the truth. He laughed.
"You just want hide out here. Predictable of you!" She turned her head so the other pony could get a mouthful of hair.
"True that." She says loudly in a soft upbeat voice.
Three hours later no one was left except for the winner, Rose. Everyone went down to the cafe, and Rose got a golden medal. After that everyone heads to bed.
At the door there stood a Pegasus named Misty. Misty lay on the ground bawling. Next to her Healing Hooves stood. Defender and Last Standing rushes forward; they didn't like seeing sad ponies.
"What a cry baby." One of the popular kids says.
"I would agree with you on that, but this morning she got sent on a mission with Firefly. He is not here so I assume that something bad happen to him." Rose says.
"Misty what happened?" Last Standing asks gravely.
"It-"
"Misty, just go. I'll tell him all of it. You shouldn't say it. It will make you feel tons of renewed pain." Healer Hooves says. Misty ran out of the room with eyes on her. "You all Probably want to hear this. This morning we sent Misty and Firefly got sent to stop a cockatrice. They didn't have a plan so they hided behind some bushes. Suddenly Firefly tackled the monster and got turned to stone. The beast threw Firefly at Misty. It knocked her out. When she woke the beast was gone. Then she came here."
The room grew silent. Defender and Last Standing both had looks of surprise.
`"Ponyvile needs protecting." Last Standing says. "In a few minutes I'll send a crew."
"No." Defender says strongly. "They can handle themselves." There was a long pause then Last Standing replied.
"Fine." He says as sharp as a knife. Then the room started to buzz again.
"Poor Firefly." One of the popular kids says.
"That's the hard part about being a hero." Rose responds.
