//-------------------------------------------------------// The awakening -by Rainbow___Dash- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1 I awoke to shouts of joy, screams of pain and cries of sorrow. My eyes were blurry and my ears were ringing with a painful frequency. I had no idea what was going on but when I gained focus of my eyes, a sharp metal knife was just a hoof away from my face. Quickly, I jumped up but dull, grey rubble was securely held onto my right wing and without a thought, I pulled and tugged at my dust covered wing. The rubble rolled off and crashed onto pieces of metal and the sound was like shattering glass. All that surrounded me was rubble, metal and bright colours dotted around but its source was unknown to me. My ears were still painful but I could hear something, loud but horrified shouts and chanting like phrases that were produced by fellow ponies. They came closer to me with weapons in their hooves. I had no idea what to do. I tried to fly away but my limp, crooked wing had every single bone shattered making it impossible for me to fly. My instincts told me to run, run as fast as I could so that's what I did. On the way, I spotted so many colts, fillies, mare, stallions dead. So, so many. Some were lying with faded out manes and coats, knife wounds in their chest and fear in their faces. Others were simply crushed by the now destroyed, popular building. As I passed them, I examined them to prove my theory. They were all pegasi which then concluded that this building had an origin of home in the now dark, storm like clouds. Tears filed my eyes on what monstrosity could of caused this pain and grief on fellow ponies. My heart pounded at the sound of the hooves not far behind but it soon stopped after a pony of purple mane and orange coat stared at me with a knife in their hoof. "Please help me! I can't fly and-" my words were soon cut short when the pony pinned me down to the ground. "Another failure then? We both know what we do with failures!" she spoke harshly, raising the knife above her head. I covered my eyes and expected a solid, cold piece of metal to plunge into me like when you cut fabric with newly bought scissors. Nothing. I hesitantly, moved my hooves and opened my once more blurry eyes. She looked me in the eyes and viciously threw the rusty knife to the side. "You disgust me for you have done... That's why I'm not going to repeat your actions!" she held her hoof out and i grabbed it. She pulled me up and spoke "Leave... Leave now and stay away from here!" This mare who was going to kill me was now telling me to leave and stay away. Her protection seemed so familiar as if she was related to me... As if she was my sister! I looked her in the eyes and nodded then continued to run. After much running, I finally arrived at some sort of forest, one that seemed to spark fear in my mind but why? I ignored it and cautiously, roamed around inside this forest. The same trees repeated over and over again until a blue box was there. I walked up to this box with curiosity on what lurked inside. I reached for the shiny, golden handle when a voice drew my attention behind me. "Hey! Who are you?" the stallion shouted running over me. He was of brown coat, darker brown mane and sparkling blue sea-like eyes. He stopped and looked at me with a kind, gentle face. "Well?" he questioned. I had no idea on my name... Nothing! "I-I don't know..." I spoke fearfully, stuttering. "Really? Huh... Well, I could help you if you want?" he spoke the way he looked. "How?" I questioned feeling confident. "I've been working on something! You would be a perfect test subject for it!" he screamed in a childlike manner. I slowly nodded clearly seeing he was mad. "Come on then" he spoke, pulling my front hoof and entering this strange box which grew in size as we stepped in. "Just stay still and it will be over faster than err... Lightning I guess?" He placed a strange gizmo onto my head. I sat there and looked him up and down. "An earth pony! I'm so glad to see one not trying to get me!" I laughed. He turned around. "Indeed I am and why would someone-somepony try to get you? You seem a nice pegasi! Oh, by the way, I'm the Doctor!" he spoke shaking my hoof vigorously. "Doctor who?" I questioned. "Close! But its Doctor Whooves!" he laughed again. "Now shhhh! I'm getting something!" he said quickly getting glued back to the glaring screen facing him without an answer for his question concerning me. "What the? Ermm... Pegasus mare, you might want to see this and hear it in fact!" he, as calm as possible, spoke looking at me. I wearily rose up trying to avoid my broken wing hitting something, walked up to screen and he turned to volume up. "Ms. Dash! We're under attack! Everything is shutting down and-" "Shut up you pitiful fool! Can't you see I'm trying to sort this out?" my voice snapped at an unknown stallion on what was a memory but now a crooked, disgusting view of somepony's imagination. I backed up from the screen but the Doctor kept his eyes locked firmly in place on what was once a memory. As the seconds passed his kind warm face slowly turned to a disgusted face full of horror and disturbance. Screams echoed through the box that was projected from the speakers and the Doctor cringed and he soon shut it off. He turned to me and I expected a face of angry, betrayal or disgust but nothing. He still had that warm glow to his face, that gentle expression on it and the soft, childlike manner. "Well... We kinda know your name and... What I hope, was not your memories but your disturbing imagination." he spoke struggling to grasp his words that lingered in his mind. He cautiously walked over to me trying to still see me as somepony who is nice but what was shown on the screen chilled us both to the bone and made us see the world and each other completely differently. He took the gizmo off and looked me deeply in the eyes. "Ermm... Dash?" he quietly spoke. "How dare you address me like that! I am your superior!" I shouted at him but looked down apologetically to show I didn't mean it. "hmm... Guess it was a memory but Ms. Dash, what was going on for you to be 'attacked'?" he spoke with a sense of fear with the thought of asking. "Just call me Dash... And I don't remember..." I spoke softly and quietly not wanting to scare the only stallion who would actually stay, to run away with fear. "Okay Dash! I hope you do recover what you lost and I wish you luck but I must go now!" he shouted with cheer again. "Oh... Sure! But I'm guessing this is a machine to get you places?" I questioned. He looked at me with confusion on me guessing such a ridiculous thought. "How-how did you know?" he cautiously asked. "The technology seems understandable for me... Its like I've learnt about this stuff!" I answered him with a sense of pride of having some sort of knowledge of my damaged memories. "I see... Well, I should really go! My Tardis is telling me to get somewhere else... Hmmm" he said looking behind him to a different screen. Willingly, I walked over to the door and placed my hoof on the handle. "Wait!" the Doctor called over to me. I spun around excitedly for that warm, welcoming feeling he projected. "May I ask... Where exactly is Hoofington?" he questioned with a puzzled face after trying to pronounce the town properly several times. I did in fact remember that place as I recall flying there with a young filly that looked similar to the mare I mentioned that had purple mane and orange coat but this fillies name, if I remembered correctly, was Scootaloo but that mare couldn't of been this filly. "Ermm... Yeah! Actually, here's a deal! If I tell you where this place was, do you mind taking me with you?" I questioned walking over to him. He looked at me with a positive look for I just succeeded in getting a trip. "Of course not!" he joyfully said bouncing over to a lever. "That bounce... I-I saw it before..." I mumbled to myself, thoughtfully as I had saw it... Somewhere but I didn't know where from. The Doctor turned round and of course asked what I said then I just told a little white lie and luckily he believed me! So, he pulled down on the shiny, silver lever and, what he called, the Tardis shuddered and was filled with life. Soon later, we stopped. He smiled with accomplishment and ran over to the door and burst it open with excitement. "A new adventure, new place and new challenges! Unfortunately, this is goodbye for us... Some time, I would like to meet you again!" he called over to me and shook my hoof as I walked out into new grounds. "We shall! And thank you for this, it was great help!" I shouted as I walked away into open grounds. He waved and we parted ways. Now to fathom out my broken memories... I thought walking cautiously on this new ground I never knew existed below my flight paths. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2 Since my arrival in Hoofington, nothing happened just that the place was desolate. No talking, no laughter just nothing. I had no idea what was happening until I did meet somepony. Cautiously, I wandered this new land trying not to think of what had happened with that demented memory of mine. The words lingered in my mind forcing me to remember this against my will. My head hurt from the force of me trying to remember anything that I could possibly of remembered but since arriving here, all I could remember was the similarities between that filly that I could remember and that mare, the one who told me to leave. The similarities were endless and the differences were limited. These thoughts were soon cut off for a scream could be heard. Automatically, I ran over to the source and its source was a dark purple mare gripping onto the cliff with one hoof. I looked down to her to find her wings spread out but I was curious on why she would not just fly. She glanced up but soon coward away at the sight of me. Quickly, I stuck my hoof out trying to reach for hers before she plummeted down hundreds of feet. "No, please! I'm so sorry! Please don't take me to the factory!" she cried out, refusing to take my hoof. I looked at her with curiosity on why she would fear me and this factory she talked about. "Take my hoof! Quick before you fall!" I called out ignoring her cries. "I didn't mean to be a failure! I don't want to go!" tears streamed down her bruised, dirty face. "I'm not going to do anything! Just take my hoof and I'll pull you up!" She looked up and saw that I was truly trying to help her. She swung her other hoof up and grabbed mine and with much effort , I pulled her up. Without a thank you or anything, she ran not looking back. I sat there thinking about what she just said. Failures? I'm sure that familiar mare said something about failures... I thought thinking about what these failures were. After much thinking, I looked up to find the mare I just helped, cautiously walking up to me and sitting in front of me. "Ermm...thank you Ms Dash," she softly spoke, cringing after speaking. "Please, just call me Dash and I did what any normal pony would do... Speaking of ponies, where are they?" I questioned lowering my volume to not scare her away again. She gave me a confused look knowing what has happened. "Have-have you lost your memories? You don't seem to understand any of my actions," she spoke, carefully choosing words that won't infuriate me. "Yeah, I remember nothing and I need help... You seem to know a lot about me though, may you tell me information on myself?" "Ermm... Of course, but if you promise not to send me to the factory please!" She spoke as if demanding it. Confused but I was determined to get as much information as possible, I nodded. "Okay, lets start with basics. Your full name is Rainbow Dash and you live in Cloudsdale which is pretty far from here. Ermm... Lets see... You have a job in a factory, a dark, disturbing factory, called the Rainbow Factory... And from what I've gathered after esca-visiting it, you turn ponies... Oh god, well, they blood into rainbows..." she fearfully spoke, dreading the response I would give. "I-I remember some of it now but something is blocking it... Wait... You escaped it as no one could visit that part of the factory... Why were you there?" I questioned as if I had a hunger for more information. "My wings... I can't really fly as they can't go in so they are always sticking out... They've made my life hell with all the bullies but that moment me and them bullies were sent to the factory for being failures, something changed... I kinda enjoyed watching them die and it gave me such adrenaline, that I felt immortal and I could do anything and that's how I escaped as I managed to fly!" she spoke but when she got to how she escaped, she cheerfully spoke it. "Hmmm... Well, now that's all cleared up, back to the original question where is everypony?" I questioned, proud and happy that I've found out more of my shattered memory's. She was about to answer when a stampede of ponies rushed over to us cheering and screaming, yet again with smooth, silver weapons in they hooves. "Oh Celestia... Come on! We've gotta go!" she spoke, grabbing my hoof and running. "Guessing you can't fly either with the state of your wing!" "You are very observant, you might come in handy... well if you agree of course!" "In the factory? Haha! Hell yeah! It would be fun! Oh, by the way my names Obscuro! It mean darkness!" she spoke, speeding up and smiling. My attitude was changing and my thoughts were too. She had unlocked so many memories but also thoughts. We had been running for about 10 minutes and the ponies were still behind us, but we met a fellow friend of mine. "Oh! Hello, nice seeing you again!" The Doctor spoke cheerfully with his sonic screwdriver in his mouth making it hard for us to understand a word he was saying. "Sorry no time to talk! Unless..." I spoke stopping in front of him. "Hey! Obscuro! He can help us!" I called to her and straight away she came back. "What seems to be the- oh god... yeah, I'll help just quick, get in the Tardis! I don't think them ponies are friendly!" The Doctor spoke sprinting into his blue box. We both ran in and closed the door. Obscuro's eyes widened at the view inside and she refused to believe this was real. "Ermm... Dash, who is this stallion and what is this?" Before I could reply to her predicted question, the Doctor charged in with rambles of words to her which gave me time to think on what we should do next. After much thought and marvellous planning, I knew what to do! "Hey, Doctor! May you take us to the closest clothes shop please?" He gave a peculiar look towards my request but nodded knowing that it must be important. He started the Tardis up and this was the start to the biggest mistake he ever made! //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3 "So, why do you want to go to a clothes shop?" the Doctor questioned cautiously walking over from the futuristic devices he activated not long ago. "Well, I'm not just going to go out to be killed! I need a disguise of course if I want to continue my legacy!" I joyfully spoke, smiling as if I lost all sanity. Obscuro looked towards me with concern on if my plan would work or not but the Doctor looked frightened as if I was about to harm him. "Err... Dash, what do you mean 'legacy'?" he questioned, slowly but surely, backing away from me. "Oh you know, being that Pegasus who can do many of amazing things!" I replied and I was sure that I was going back to my old ways but I had to make sure he wouldn't know of the factory. "of course, not bad stuff just being good!" "hmm... Okay, well it'll be a while till we get there so wonder around if you want, better then sitting here haha!" he laughed turning back to his strange device. I rose up and signalled to Obscuro to follow me. After 5 minutes of walking and peaking through a small quantity of the Tardis' rooms, we settled down in a small room. The room had sky blue walls, a bright green carpet and a two cozy seats. We sat on them and I looked towards Obscuro who was trying to make her wings go in. "Obscuro!" I shouted at last, jumping from the seat with anger. She fearfully looked up. "Y-yes?" she stuttered. "Well you stop bucking playing with your wings! The rustling is getting on my nerves!" I angrily shouted towards her. "Sorry..." I sighed "well anyway, I want to talk about the factory... Why did it get destroyed? And don't say the obvious!" "Oh, well, a few years ago, Celestia found out and changed the way you make rainbows and everypony was happy! Well, that's what we thought but Dr Atmosphere, I think his name was, went back to his old ways and then strangely you did even after you protested against him! Still confuses me but anyway, more ponies went missing over time and Luna noticed that the factory was still going at night so she told Celestia... Of course, Celestia went over straight away and saw what was happening so ordered the factory to be closed down but other ponies thought that they should do more... Then you kinda know the rest..." Obscuro spoke getting quieter the more she talked. I looked at her, speechless on what to say but the only thing that came to mind was that mare I saw earlier. "W-was there once a mare of orange coat and purple mane there?" I questioned. She gave a confused look but soon nodded. "Can you not remember her?" "No, was she important?" "She was your sister! Sadly, she died before Celestia found out... Some ponies managed to come out of the factory and told us that her name was Absentia but once they described what she looked like, everypony knew straight away who this pony was and her real name was Scootaloo... She was a nice filly, I was a friend of hers but I was sent away to Hoofington with my parents..." Obscuro looked down with tears in her eyes. ... "Any last words?" "You have beautiful eyes..." ... "No... She's not dead... I saw her! She can't be!" I screamed punching the wall. "Dash, she's dead! I killed her!" Obscuro shouted. I quickly turned around and ran to her, pinning her down to the ground. "Why? Why did you kill my sister?" I screamed with tears down my face. Obscuro's eyes widened and her face flooded with fear. "D-dash, what are you talking about?" "You said that you killed her! Why did you do it?" I shouted hitting her in her all ready bruised face. She broke down crying and I soon jumped back known she didn't say anything. My brain was messing with me. "I'm so, so sorry! I didn't mean it..." Obscuro got up and walked towards me. "Whatever happened to you has really messed you up! You've been hearing and seeing stuff haven't you?" she gently and calmly spoke. ... "Come on Dash, join me! We can control the skies together!" "No! Stop this madness right now!" "You're not just going to do it the easy way are you? Well fine, if that's how you want it!" "Ahhhhh!" .... "Dash? Dash! Come on get up! Oh Celestia... Ermm... Doctor! Help!" ... "Now don't struggle Dash! Let the machine do its work!" "Stop it! Just stop this!" ... "Come on Dash! Get up, please!" I opened my eyes, screaming with sweat dripping from my face. "Dash, are you all right?" Obscuro spoke bursting in to the room. I looked to her with relief that I was still in the Tardis. "What happened? I can't remember anything but you screaming..." I questioned sitting up. "You passed out but you were hitting the air as if defending yourself but also screaming! What was that about?" "I presume it was flashback of some sorts between her and a stallion... I did some analysing on the situation if you're wondering how I came up with that conclusion!" the Doctor spoke interrupting me and Obscuro. "Where the buck did you come from?!" Obscuro spoke jumping up. "None of your business!" he retaliated back. "So anyway, was my prediction correct Dash?" "I-I don't know... I think it was but I can't tell... I need to find out!" I spoke climbing out the bed I laid in but I soon stopped and looked towards Obscuro. "Obscuro, do you know when I said you might come in handy, what did you say?" She gave a bizarre look but willingly answered "I said that I couldn't go back there as its too disturbing!" "What about when you saw them bullies getting, you know?" "That it was horrible to see and I was so desperate to get out, I flue out as best as I could." "B-but you... I think I'm going mad!" I hysterically screamed looking down at the floor. A few moments passed and the Tardis shuddered signalling that we've arrived at our destination. "Come on, time for you two to leave! I've got to go! But nice meeting you two and I hope to see you again but Dash, you shouldn't keep secrets bottled up... Just remember that!" The Doctor firmly spoke shaking my hoof. I didn't understand what he meant until I realised that he knew all along about the factory... If I told him earlier he might have helped me but its in the past now. "Yeah, I'll remember that and thanks for everything!" I joyfully spoke walking out of the room and into the twisted corridors with Obscuro by my side. We got to the bright, main room and said our goodbyes and left. "So, where are we?" Obscuro questioned looking around the dark scenery that surrounded us. "Hmmm... Ponyville I think... Ponies must've wrecked this place in the hunt for me, after all, I did come here constantly!" I replied looking around myself trying to recognising any buildings that survived the brutal attack. "Well anyway, we're here so I guess you need that disguise don't you... I'll wait out here for you!" Obscuro smiled. I nodded and walked in to what seemed to be the last intact building there was. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4 One question has been lingering in my fractured mind of mine after leaving the clothes shop. What happened in there made me question who I really am; a victim or a monster. Me and Obscuro still can't comprehend what happened. "I'll be about ten minutes maximum! If you need anything, just come in!" I called to Obscuro while I entered the sturdy building. It was strangely clean compare to the other buildings, the lights were still bright and that home like feeling was still trapped in the four baby pink walls that surrounded me. I glanced round to see if anypony was there or any sign. I was about to call out when I realised that if somepony was there, and I did call out then I would've just sealed my own death sentence! I quickly messed my mane up and dusted my self off where dust and rubble still clung to my fur then took a deep breath. "Hello? Anypony still here?" I called out with me changing my voice to sound different. Shortly after, I heard something crash and hoof steps coming from the back room. "Hello... Please don't ruin my store please! Its all I have!" a white unicorn spoke out showing her face. Her pink and white mane dropped down to the side of her dusty and dirty face. "I'm not going to ruin your store, that's not what I do! But let me introduce myself, I'm... Cloud Chaser! I know, it's not the best name but that's what I got called haha!" I laughed hoping she would believe me. "Oh, hello, I'm Fleur De Lis! Nice meeting you, would you like anything?" she gently asked with the most poshest accent I've ever heard. I nodded as I did need something, anything really! She walked over to me and walked around as if examining me. "All right, I'll see what I've got that might fit a Pegasus like you, of course not in a bad way its just since your wing is broken you would need something a bit different!" she smiled and walked to the back room. "Have a look around if you want, something might suit you there!" "Thank you!" I called to her but I knew she was now out of ear shot. I casually walked over to a mirror that was firmly held onto the wall. I glanced to my wing to find it bandaged up then I knew the Doctor did it for me. "Huh, no ones helped me like this before! Well, not what I remember that is..." I span round then headed for some clothing that was folded neatly on one side of the wall. So many colours were used to make these good quality clothes, the sight was magnificent with the vibrant colours. "Every colour from the rainbow..." I mumbled to myself picking some red silk clothing up. ... "You stupid, pitiful failures! You are nothing compare to me, you are a disgrace to the Pegasus name! Why don't you just accept your fate and die in the Pegasus device!" I screamed to a group of young pegasi. "Stop please! We don't want to die!" a young blue stallion called from what seemed to be a black abyss below me. ... "I remember something... Why would I say that! The last flashbacks, I just heard but this one... Who am I really?" I whispered to myself looking down to the ground. "Did you say something?" the white unicorn walked back in with a few items of clothing but none would work as a disguise. "Huh, oh just think out loud! I have a tendency to do that!" I spoke quickly glancing in her direction and back to the clothe I held in my hoof. "How about this? I like the hood on it!" "Oh darling, don't get that! That's for them common ponies like that disabled Pegasus out there! You'll be the laughing stock being like her haha!" she laughed pointing to Obscuro who was unaware of her doing this. After she said that, something snapped in my mind. I looked a pair of bright, shimmering scissors that were lying not far from me and automatically, I grabbed them. "How dare you ridicule my friend! You have no right to say something like that in front of your superior!" I quickly spun round and plunged the scissors deep into her chest. I had no control over myself, it was if I was somepony else. She let out a deafening scream that shook me slightly. "Stop, stop please! I didn't mean it! Ahh! Help, somepony please!" She screamed trying to push me away but all of her attempts failed. Not soon after, Obscuro burst in with shock and fear on her innocent face. "Dash, stop this right now! She doesn't deserve this!" Obscuro cried out trying to make me release my grip. I ignored her cries and pulled the scissors further down Fleur De Lis' perfect body. Her skin ripped so easy and ruby red blood splattered from the gap that separated two halves of her. She squirmed and wriggled to set herself free but it was useless. Joy surged through me like electricity and it blinded me on what I was doing to her. ... "Now, which one of you pitiful failures will die first? It's a marvellous experience! Well, for me that is... hmm... you're all going to go through this process so why not just get it over with? You'll be helping the company if you do!" I called out walking towards the group of 'failures'. "Please, Ms. Dash, I didn't mean it! I swear! I'll work here if you want! I just don't want to die!" a grey young mare called out. "Hmm... All right, we need workers but be prepared for once you get to work, you will have to make sure that not a single soul gets through!" I clearly spoke walking to this pony. "I will be!" ... "Not a single soul gets through!" I screamed to Fleur De Lis, pulling the scissors out but quickly, plunging them into her heart that only had a weak heart beat. She gave a shriek but soon closed her eyes and all signs of life got flushed away from her. Obscuro stood speechless looking over me, scared on what choice she will do. Run or stay and help me get through this. My eyes widened and I gained control over myself. "What have I done? Oh god! I didn't mean it, I swear!" I glanced up to find the mare of purple mane and orange coat that was presumed dead and named Scootaloo, my sister. "This how we all felt when we got sent to the factory! 'I didn't mean it, I swear!' is a familiar phrase to all your 'failures'! I begged you to keep me alive but you refused to save me! So what did you do? Locked me up! You're nothing to me, not even my sister but until you awake from your fake world, I've got to help you... Prove to us that you didn't mean it before it's too late!" Scootaloo, well that's who I presumed it was, spoke to me but soon left. "I'm so, so sorry..." I whispered looking down. "What happened to me is something I need to find out!" "Dash-Ms. Dash, I'm staying with you as you need all the help you can get but you must tell me about what you saw when you passed out and why you said what you did to her!" Obscuro, as calm as possible, spoke pointing to Fleur De Lis' limp bloody body. I rose up and looked Obscuro in the eyes then told her everything. A few minutes later, she finally grasped what just happened and everything I told her. "We need to find Dr. Atmosphere now! I may not know what truly happened to you but I know he's behind it all! Come on, let's go!" Obscuro shouted running out of the store but I was reluctant due to having blood all over me. "O-Okay, I'm coming!" I called out, chasing after her. This was the start for one epic adventure! //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 5 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 5 "So... What made you do that in there?" Obscuro gently spoke but she still had a tone that made you think that she was demanding to know. "She kept say-wait... Why do you talk like that? You don't seem like the mare to have a tone like that!" I spoke, surprised to have just noticed then and not earlier. "Ermm... Hey, stop changing the subject... Please! Now may you answer my question, please?" she said calmly. I shook my head thinking I was hearing stuff again but I was sure of it but I just passed it off as nothing. "Well, she was saying stuff about you and you don't deserve to be treat like that! But when she said that something just snapped inside... Its hard to describe..." I looked down to my bloody hooves that were constantly moving back and forward forcing me to continue ahead. "Well, now I know what capable of... But in a way, thanks!" she spoke looking off into the distance but she soon ground to a sudden halt. "D-d-dash!" she shouted while pointing to a black stallion running towards us. He seemed familiar to me but I couldn't put my hoof on who he was. I stopped but I didn't run as he was alone. "Ms. Dash! You're alive!" he called to me and stopping right in front of me. "Wait... I remember you! The Doctor showed me some of my last memories and you were that stallion! Haha, finally somepony who I recognised!" I joyfully screamed at this achievement. "Ermm... Ms. Dash, are you all right?" he softly spoke with a shocked face. I stopped suddenly knowing how improper I looked to him, after all, I am his 'superior'. "Of course I am... Err... What's your name again?" I said standing tall but soon lowering after asking him his name. "Bloody Wings, one of your workers! I'm guessing something happened to you when the factory exploded. Slightly obvious the fact that the amount of pressure that would have been exerted onto your head might of caused temporary amnesia... Am I correct?" he spoke as if he was a computer and it slightly freaked me and Obscuro out. Obscuro turned to me with an expression that clearly read as, the only way I can describe it, the 'sweet Celestia' expression. "Hmm... Logical explanation for my injury... Yeah, you seem to be correct!" I spoke calmly and clearly. He smiled but something didn't seem right. ... "So, what features shall he have since he is going to be that 'perfect' worker!" Dr. Atmosphere spoke looking down to a set of blueprints. "Hmm... Respect, courage, selflessness and lets think... Intelligence! Respect to obviously respect me, courage to do what most ponies fear to do, selflessness to willingly do anything even if it's risking his own life and intelligence as that will come handy!" I spoke looking towards the machine that was loaded with parts to create a Pegasus. "Hmm... But mind you, with those features, he might become rebellious to us and try to escape which could lead to a revolution!" "Don't you think I know that!" I snapped at him with anger. ... "I remember you! That perfect worker..." my words drifted off into the nothingness that surrounded us. "Perfect worker? What do you mean?" Obscuro questioned with curiosity looking towards me. I turned to her and pulled her a certain distance away from Wings. "He's the perfect worker as he was created, he's not a real Pegasus, he's just pieces of metal disguised and he doesn't even know it." I whispered to her trying to make sure Wings couldn't hear us. Her jaw dropped and she was speechless. "Don't say anything, now come!" I spoke with a strong voice, walking back. "Ms. Dash, I know it's none of my business but, what was your conservation about?" Wings questioned looking at me and Obscuro. I gave him a stern look but I knew that I had to say something. "Errmm... Hearths warming eve! Weren't we?" I replied looking to Obscuro so she knew why I was doing this. She quickly nodded. "Yep! That's all we were talking about, nothing else!" she gleefully shouted but it seemed too suspicious and I prayed that he wouldn't work it out. "If you say so, and sorry for asking Ms. Dash, I had no right to ask!" Wings sincerely said. "Well don't do it again!" I viciously shouted towards him, slamming my hoof down but as I did, the ground trembled below us. "Not to be funny but either they was an explosion of some sorts, an earthquake or you are god damn powerful!" Obscuro laughed but was soon silenced when I shoved her gently but I soon gave a small smile. "Haha! So you do have a sense of humour!" "Shut up! And it was most likely an explosion but still the possibility that i'm very powerful haha!" I laughed for the first time in a long time. "Well we should investigate the source of the explosion and my guess is that it's not that far from here! But Ms. Dash, why are you covered in a funny red substance?" Wings questioned with the most serious tone and I was about to make an excuse but I was quickly interrupted by a familiar voice. "Oh my Dash, I see you're back to your old ways!" it laughed like a psychopathic. I quickly spun around with fear that suddenly came to me after hearing the voice. "No... Not you... It can't be..." I trembled slightly at the sight of him and I struggled to even speak never mind stay where I stood. "Oh come on Dash, aren't you not glad to see me?" Dr. Atmosphere joyfully spoke. "Hmm... Another failure? Why don't we work together on dealing with her, Dash?" I shook my head but he soon ran over to Obscuro. "Obscuro!" //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 6 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 6 I just... I just don't understand why this happened... That decision was one of the hardest to choose from but this just went off the rails! It got taken too far! I hate him... I hate him... I wanted to kill him! "Obscuro!" I screamed with a shaky voice from my fear of my old friend, Dr Atmosphere. The earth felt like it froze... What should happen? Should I sacrifice myself or let her perish? I was soon about to react when Wings sprung in front of Obscuro. The blade Dr Atmosphere sneakily hid in his hoof, plunged into Wings' chest but Wings looked down and pulled it out. "No blood..." Dr Atmosphere mumbled with a face the was overflowing with shock. I walked over with pride in my stride and patted Wings slightly then went face to face with Atmosphere. "Well of course there's no blood! What use would I need for blood in my perfect worker?" I insanely laughed. "You see, you helped make this kind stallion but I might of altered his wires... Slightly, but it was worth it!" Just after saying this, Wings lept at Atmosphere, throwing him to the ground. Atmosphere let out a small yelp at this action. "It's actually very clever what I did! Haha! One of them things might make him a killing machine if he got harmed!" "I programmed him not to attack us!" Atmosphere growled at me. "Oh no, no, no! Do you think I'm stupid? Seriously? It was never us! I changed that to make it only harm you not me because it was always you who needed punished! I know what you are planning, I knew all along and I knew it was you who broke my mind! Play as innocent as you want to the princesses and the citizens but I can see right through you!" I shouted slightly pushing Wings off him. He grinned like a maniac. "Haha! Oh my, you were always quite the comedian. Giving me a bit of a laugh through them gory, horrifying days you created!" "I never created anything!" "Oh, you always did! I remember the day you killed your sister, your loyal friends, your loving mother and fath-" I slammed my bloody hoof into his jaw to quiet him from speaking such lies. "It was never me! Always you! Always! You killed everyone single one but I was just your puppet: following your directions you implanted into my mind! You were that tumour I had! No pony else would do something as disgraceful as that but you would you monster!" I ferociously screamed at him. "No...it was me...I was just doing my job...the way you told me..." Obscuro spoke walking towards us. I turned to her with confusion at this bizarre confession. "You personally told me that I should be prepared! I was prepared!" Atmosphere rose his bloody, battered face with shock. "I knew I recognised your tone... I put you in a high rank, ordering others to...kill..." I struggled to comprehend this new discovery. "Huh! You were that very selfish pony that once ventured to me asking if you could access Ms. Dash's office!" Wings joyfully said. "Wouldn't call myself selfish! Well I suppose my disguise has been blown! Let's see how long the moron will realise she originally wanted to kill me!" She cheekily spoke looking towards me with a smile on her face. "Tik, tok!" That was the final straw, the fuse was up and I was about to explode but the thought of Scootaloo came to mind. "I remember but I'm not going to do anything. Nothing at all. I know what you did... Killed my friends and family but not Scootaloo." I calmly spoke expecting an attack, verbal or physical but I just got the same phrase repeated over and over again. 'I never wanted this!' That phrase I've heard many of times but I never bothered me or even made me feel sympathetic to the producers of this phrase however, this felt... Different. ... "I never wanted this... Take me home please!" Scootaloo called out to me, clearing on a white, fluffy cloud. "Come on! Trust me! Just spread your wings and fly! If you fall or panic, I'll catch you... I promise" I replied smiling cheerfully at my young, scared sister. ... "I promise..." I muttered slightly. "I promised her and I broke it... No... I didn't want to break that promise but you little, snivelling idiot made me do it! You!" I screamed with anger turning to Atmosphere who was just centimetres away from me. "Me? I think you're mistaking! I'm just the one that stopped you doing anymore damage to anypony else!" He smugly spoke. I was about to brutally attack him in the similar fashion I did towards Fleur De Lis but he grabbed the same blade from before and gently but quickly, pointed it on my throat. The point was almost at the stage of tearing my flesh. I fearlessly stood there, barely breathing at all. "Am I right?" He grimly spoke. I slowly backed away. "Not the slightest!" I announced. His face quickly filled with rage for disobeying him and not agreeing the way I was programmed to, and he rushed to me, blade aimed for my chest. That shiny, silver blade red to be ruby red. His face to be soon filled with joy at his soon accomplishment. His sanity to be completely lost. "Ahh!" Obscuro shrieked with her fragile body slamming into the hard, grey floor. "Oh god..." Wings mumbled under his breath. "You stupid, stupid mare! Why did you do that? Why?" I cried out sitting by Obscuro who was shuddering with the pain. "You don't need me... And I wanted you to live..." She quietly muttered. "You've got to end this... But please promise me you will" "I don't know how! Come on, don't do this to me! Don't!" I shouted to her, almost crying. "You do but just remember... You never wanted this but they did... Well, I guess this is it, the end of me..." She calmly spoke looking at me with hope. I nodded. "Thank you, I wouldn't of made it to where I am... Let's hope that I do end this... For you! Goodbye my... Sister," I spoke holding her close. She smiled but soon all of her life was drained out of her body. "Leave now... Just go while you have the chance because as soon as I look up, you'll be lying in your own pool of blood!" I screamed at Atmosphere with hatred. "See you soon then!" He spoke running off into the distance, towards the main factory that still stood in its place. The very original home of all of this mayhem. Cloudsdale.
