Ponyville high

   I was woken by the screaming of the old, dented alarm clock. It wailed trying to get me up and ready. I quickly smack it with my wing to get it to stop. My name is Autumn Spark and today, is the day I move to Ponyville.

The clock on the stand next to me read 2:30 A.M. I look out the window to see that Princess Celestia has yet to raise the sun. Due to the lack of sun light I can't see a thing. i hate being up this early. I think to myself as I make my way to the light switch. As I stumble around too get to the light switch I think about how Ponyville's going to be different from Cloudsdale.

The reason I'm leaving is for two reasons. one,  Ponyville High has a better education opportunity then Cloudsdale Prep; And two it's to get away from all the bullying I've been going through. It's hard enough being a blank flank in your sophomore year of high school, but add that to the fact I'm being made fun of for something I had no choice over, my sexuality

I came out as gay last year, and since then I've been the subject of ridicule. The school board refuses to do anything about it, so my mom thought it would be best to go to a school where nopony knew me. With my cousin, Rainbow Dash, living on her own in the nearby town, it was decided that I would transfer to Ponyville High . At least I won't be alone, Rainbow dash may live on her own, but She's a sophomore same as me. The only downside is that RD doesn't have a clue about my preferences. I just hope that I don't have anypony figure out my secret.

I put the thought in the back of my mind as I reach the light switch. In an instant I got from seeing pitch black to the blindingly pure white of light reflecting of the cloud walls in my room. It takes a second for my eyes to adjust to the new lighting.

When I look around the room, sadness hits me like a buck to the face. I look around to think of the good memories I had in this room, but there aren't any. Mostly I came up here to keep myself from the outside world.

I walk out into the hallway so I can get a look of my self in the mirror. And no I'm not egotistical I'm just self-conscious. As I see my reflection I notice that my mane. Well let's just say it's seen better days. I use my wings hands as a kind of pseudo brush to tame my purple mane so it's not so out of control.

After what seemed like for ever I finally got done with my mane. A few seconds later I hear my mom say "Autumn Spark, the cab will be here any minute."

  I look at the clock in the hallway which says 3:30. "How could I have spent so much time in there" I say to myself. I fly down the stairs as fast as my wing can carry me, which isn't very fast.

When I get down stairs I'm scolded by my unicorn mother.  "AUTUMN!" My mother screamed "WHAT HAVE I TOLD YOU ABOUT FLYING IN THE HOUSE." She said. My mom and dad met at the grand galloping gala and she wanted to move to Cloudsdale  but could cause she's not a Pegasus so the went to princess Celestia who cast a spell on my mom so she could walk on clouds.

"that it's dangerous and ill break my neck" I say. That'd probably be the most pathetic way to go, breaking my neck on a cloud.

  Bit I can't blame her for being this stressed. My dad is a major in the royal guard, and once your promoted to major your given extreme training for one year to see how well you can defend Equestria. Many soldiers are sent home early because of broken limbs a extreme injuries.

"Mom" I say "you've got to stop worrying about dad. He is the best soldier I know."

"I know" she says, "I'm just scared for him" she looks down and starts to sob.

I feel bad for her. She's found her special somepony and is sprayed from him. "But worrying isn't going to bring him back any sooner," I say "just take care of yourself while I'm away okay"

She looks at me and nods. She stands up to give me a hug just as the cab pulls up being drawn by a white mare with a blue mane. Just as I go for my bag she levitates it with her magic. "Be safe" she says "and don't forget to write."

I look back at her and say "I will." And just like that I'm off on a new adventure.

I walk outside , Luna's moon still visible in the sky. I take one last look around the city of clouds that was once my home, the usually white clouds looking a more grayish color due to the darkness of the night. I walked up to the cab and put my bags in the trunk. After I enter the cab it doesn't take long for me to fall a sleep.

The trip only being twenty minutes, I was still some what awake when the cab came to a sudden stop at a cloud house with rainbow water falls which stop a few dozen feet after they leave the cloud. I looked down at the meter in the cab. It said 10 bits, as I exited the cab I walked back to get my bags, then back to the front to give the mare her ten bits. The mare looks at me and gives me a polite "thanks."

I watch as she flies away in to the night. I look up at the house and head towards the front door. As I knock on the door I'm excited to see Rainbow Dash again, but at the same time I'm nervous cause I haven't told her yet that I'm gay.

Unexpectedly I'm lifted in to the air right as the door opens and in front of me I see a blue mare. She gives me the biggest hug she can manage and says in a squeal "it's great to see you Autumn."

I have a hard time breathing and barely get out the words "rainbow,...can't ....breathe ."

She almost immediately lets go and says " ha ha ...sorry." She looks at me with a bright smile on her face. She looks down at my flank to see my lack of a cutie mark. "Still no cutie mark huh?" She says trying to be sweet but ultimately failing. Rainbow Dash is the sweetest pony I know but she still has some work to do before she can be as sweet as sugar.

I look down in shame and let out a meek "yeah"

She lifts my head so that I look at her she smiles and says "Hey, don't worry you're not the only sophomore to not have his cutie mark."

"Really?" I say skeptical.

"Yeah" she says in a cheerful tone "well there's only one other I know of, but that's beside the point."

"What's his name" I ask her.

"Lightning Blast" she says with a grin "he's on the aerial track team with me." I studied her and couldn't see any signs that she was lying so I guess she's being 100% sincere.

"At least I won't be the only sophomore who's a blank flank." I say with happiness.

"Well we better get inside and get some sleep need to pick up our schedules at !0:00 am." she said pointing to the cloud house.

"Yeah you're probably right" I say following her into the house. We enter to find a living room with medals and awards all over the place.

"Wow RD" I say with amazement, "you won all these from one year of aerial track."

"No." She says "most of these are from my years of middle school aerial track." I look around to take in all the awards. The walls lined with silver medals but no golds.

"Hey RD?" I ask

"Yeah" she responds

"What's with all the silvers?" I said "I thought you would win gold with that sonic rainboom of yours."

Rainbow dash looks up and simply says "all aerial track participates are required to wear weighted vests during races to prevent a rainboom of any kind, causes to much destruction if in close range."

"So who beat you then" I ask still wondering how she came in second place but never first

"The guy I was telling you about, Lighting Blast" she said a bit of disappointment in her voice.

How is it possible for someone to beat Rainbow dash? I think to myself, I figured she'd be damn near unbeatable. not wanting I start get up from my seat on the cloud couch. "Well I'm gonna go to sleep, where is the guest room?" I ask her

"up the stairs, down the hall second door on your right and the bathroom is the one across from it." She answers pointing to the stairs.

I head up the stairs and go to the guest room which has nothing but a wall clock, a bed, and a lamp. But I don't take much notice. I sit down on the bed, and painstakingly try to take out my contacts so I can just lay down on the bed and enter dream world.

I wake up and head down stairs to look for rainbow dash. I find her in the kitchen with her looking out the window

She quickly turns around with a look of anger. "When were you gonna tell me." She says with an almost malicious tone

I look at her confused as to what she's talking about. " what do you mean Rainbow" I ask wonder why she's angry

She gets closer and shouts "don't play dumb I know all about you nd how you're a colt-coddler!"

As that word hits my ears I fell hurt at the thought that she would even use that kind of word "rainbow I thought you of all ponies would accept this kinda thing"

"So It is true," she said her face turning from one of anger to one of disgust "I bet that's why your mother sent you away. Cause her one and only child is a bucking colt-cuddler."  Tears form in my eyes as I try to run, but I'm pinned down by rainbow dash who looks at me with an evil grin. "Well I guess I'll just have to beat it out of you." The next thing I know I'm being kicked and punched by my cousin. After what fells like an eternity she stops and leaves me one the ground

I wake up in a cold sweat and look around the room and see I'm in the guest room. I take one check at my body to see nothing is bleeding or injured.

Thank Celestia it was only a dream.
