Fate
Dawn
Load Full StoryThis was the first thing I remember and the last thing I want to bring up, but for the sake of your crude, sick entertainment. I was only a colt when, my mother and father where slaughtered by an ursa major, they just protecting me and myself just cowering just like a small feeble child (not like now). The only reason I survived was by the fact that my mother's body through the chaos fell over me. In a small sick humorous laugh, I realized that even in death my mother would still protect me.
About five years later, to present day, I try not to think of that very much anymore because I cannot face the memory of my family dying to protect a child like myself.
I was making a routine trap check, hoping to find a meal, when I heard voices behind me. Looking behind me I saw six mares. One particular one caught my eye, she looked athletic and healthy, and a firm appearing... they looked my direction. I melded back into the shadow of the tree still keeping an eye on the six ponies and a small purple thing.
It seemed to keep to one particular pony. I was not able to make out her face because it was inches from a book. I made several mental notes on the mares. One pony was acting very strange, jumping and jumping and talking in a kind of annoying voice. Another pony was well-groomed and seemed rich and snobby, shrieking when she stepped anywhere near mud or a puddle. The second to last of the ponies seemed to be afraid of her shadow, it was quite amusing watching her yelp at every moving creature, yet I felt a little bad for this particular pony because she seemed to have an enduring life, I could see it in her eyes. The last pony looked like she had spent her life working to achieve little money-wise but, in the same respect she seemed to not need money unlike the white mare with the purple mane, I would like to assume that she has a good size family and loves them dearly.
Just as I was about to make a read on the reptile, the pink thing jumped behind me in such a quick movement I almost didn't notice. The pink thing announced in a loud, pronouncing voice to the others, "I found something!!!". The others had looked over and started moving towards us, I had to act quick, so I leaped up towards the lowest hanging branch, a futile thing considering the pink one had grappled my hind leg and threw me to the ground with such astounding strength.
The one with her nose in a book was the first one over to where I landed. The first thing that she had said was, "What are you doing here in the forest?" before I could answer the bookworm, the athletic one asked me yet another question, "Where do you live?"
I spit out a few incoherent words, my head was killing me, "I jus... then you..." that was the last thing I remember before everything going black.
I awoke a few moments later, or so I thought, in a small home with loads and loads of animals. I started to get up but was told to stay, by some kind of witch doctor or whatever it was. The striped horse was speaking in riddles, saying something about the forest and something else and wherever. She told me to rest, so I took the seemingly friendly advice and slept for a few hours.
The next time I woke up I had six faces staring at me and I was still in that house with the animals and I heard the mares mumbling about various subjects. I shifted and the active pink one jumped on my chest, I flew off the bed and onto the floor with a striking pain, then the bookworm said, "Pinkie!!! Cant you tell that that hurt him?". Two other ponies came to help me up but I shook off their grip and got to my feet too fast and I almost fell over, seeking help from the nearby counter for stability.
After I got stable I was told to sit down, I was a little hesitant because of course I didn't know them. I eventually decided I would take a spot on the purple sofa in the middle of the room.
"I can only stay for a while... I have to get back to my... err.. my home" I said, a little timidly. The girls insisted I told them everything about me, where I came from and who I am, so I gave them a short and just answer, "My name is Lucco and I am from the Everfree Forest." The girls gasped, then the one called Pinkie said, "Wait you actually live there... like seriously?" I simply nodded not knowing why she was making a big deal about it, I mean seeing as I lived there for five years on my own.
"Whoa" said the timid pegasi, "That sounds scary"
"That is so Awesome!" Interjected the rainbow-haired one. I smiled at the comment because, to me I thought it was lame.
"Wait how long have you liv-" tried the Pink one.
"That sounds like a whole load of apples" Interrupted the hick pony
"Apple Jack!! That is very rude" said the yellow pegasi, "Now say you're sorry"
"No I will not, ain't nobody in the history of ever would have been able to live out there in the Everfree Forest for more than an hour or so."
"Well what about Zecora?" asked the brainy pony.
"Zecora is different. She has all sorts of hibbie jibbie mumbo jumbo freaky magic stuff" replied the orchard pony, "And even if this Lucco did survive how long and just how? I mean seriously he has no magic or approachable skills."
"I can tell that you have small faith in my.. uh abilities and me being able to survive, but let me assure you, I haven't just spent the last five years of my life in a hell-hole by just shear luck. I am fully capable of surviving, that is what I do best." I finally had enough of these ponies I dont even know judging me, "I thank you for your hospitality but I'm going to go" I stood up and started walking towards a random direction hoping that it was the way to the door.
"The door is that way" said the rich pony whom I forgot was still in that room. I nodded my thanks and as soon as I touched the door knob, something strange happened.
