Data log entry: 4023 Journal of the Brotherhood Chapter in the state that was named Minnesota.
Entry made by High Paladin [REDACTED] of the Brotherhood of Steel in January 2279.
I have failed the Brotherhood.
Not just the ideal's, but the mission itself. I, High Paladin [REDACTED], am hereby exiled of the Brotherhood of Steel chapter in Duluth Air National Guard Base by the order of High Paladin [REDACTED] for allowing it's chapter to die by not following the Codex rules concerning with technology. However in recent events of discovering new technology, I shall be pardon of death, and shall be exiled instead. Therefore before High Paladin [REDACTED] leaves, I will take all technology available to the last wire and undergo a trial of repentance. As the last member of the Brotherhood Chapter in the Minnesota, I will take the Codex with me to remind myself the laws and belief of the Brotherhood.
However I shall locked the base down until a new chapter comes from the Brotherhood in the West to this location. I shall also send this to the High Elder, as he will understand the decision I had made, despite allowing the Elder to die in recent events. However I cannot give this technology to the Brotherhood by usual means as it can be used by a Pip-Boy 3000A model, which I have acquired from Vault 66.
Therefore I shall use this prototype of travel through space and time which Vault-Tec were hoping to use in recent events in case the Great War would happen and they would transport the residence of Vault 66 back in time, or perhaps to another location. The data wasn't clear on this matter, however if by chance anyone of the Brotherhood is alarmed, do not. For I have the schematics in the Pip-Boy 3000A model, and shall give freely to the Brotherhood back in the West, and all weapons, other schematics, and other things my former Brotherhood chapter has founded over the years here in the cold.
I shall also relieve my power-armor and await judgement of the High Elder. Perhaps the sentence the High Elder will give me will ease my mind of the troubles I brought to this forgotten chapter. And as the Codex indicates, I have put in every name, every rank of this chapter, except for myself. I shall put myself in exiled status and my name struck off the Brotherhood name until the High Elder ordered my existence to be remembered.
I shall leave this computer as to explain why a Brotherhood base is empty of both members and technology.
This is High Paladin [REDACTED] signing out.

The High Paladin looked down on the computer as he exited out of his seat and turned to the window outside to see the blizzard raging out in the abandon base. He turned away as he walked in his T-45d power armor down the stairs of the former Brotherhood base, he hoped that a fellow member of the Brotherhood will receive this message, but that hope was small compared to the hope of getting to the Lost Hills at all.
He moved down into the main area of the base as he looked to the large machinery of two arcs side by side, titanium metal were made of these arcs, a small platform to walk through made the trip easier for any who wish to travel, and a computer on the side to give input on information to go where ever your destination is. This was the Prototype Overlord Transportation Dimensional Gateway of Time and Space.
He moved to the computer screen as he checked for the final time of the data he put in of the Prototype.
Welcome to the Prototype Overlord Transportation Dimensional Gateway of Time and Space: POTDGOTAS version 1.2
The destination you put in: The Lost Hills.
Activation of the Gateway: T-minus 3 minutes
WARNING! Once used this Prototype it will self-destruct as to protect the interest of Vault-Tec and it's employees. Thank you for using Vault-Tec gear and machines.
We hope you have a wonderful day!
He looked away from the screen as he heard something. He moved his right hand to the Pip-Boy as he glance to his weapons as he clicked on the Laser Rifle it appeared in his right hand as he held it with his left and moved to the sounds of the disturbance. As he moved he began to hear voices outside. "Alright you lot! There should be a single Brotherhood member in there, which means this should be easy for the rest of us. Alright Enclave, let's move!" shouted a male.
The High Paladin moved away as he turned toward a lever and activated the power, which in turned activated the security defense system. He place his rifle on his back and moved toward a ladder as he went upwards toward a sniper position. He switched rifles as he taken out a laser rifle that was fully modded and took aim. He noticed the Enclave power armor troops attempting to charged straight in through the gates, however the defenses were making a hassle for the troops. He moved his rifle scope as he see that his traps were working quite well to surprised the Enclave.
However as a minute pass he noticed five vertibirds coming down carrying more troops some of them were carrying Fat Man. Which means he had to go, now. He place his rifle on his back as he went down from his spot and moved toward the Gateway as he activated the computer and typed in console commands.
Activated Gateway now.
WARNING! Doing so will change the landing destination. Are you sure?
He paused as he look at this data and knew that if he waited then the Enclave would take this, and he wouldn't give anything more than what was already taken. He pressed up in console and clicked Yes.
The machine started up as he moved forward to the Gateway, he stopped as he heard voices on the other side of the closed door. "Get this door open now!" He turned his head to see the bundle of pulse grenades all tied up in the air as the tripwire was ready to be pull and allow the grenades fall to the enemy doom. The portal opened up as he turned his head back toward the machine, he started his first step as he walked to the Gateway with his rifle in his hands. His Pip-Boy filled up with both Brotherhood technology and Codex, and finally his soundtrack full with music as he began his journey back to the heart of the Brotherhood of Steel. The Lost Hills.
He entered inside the portal as his entire body felt changed, his bones, his flesh, and his mind moved from where he was once and to his destination. Or at least close to it. However the moment he enter inside the portal the Enclave entered in the room, which activated the trap of grenades, but they moved back as fast as they could to get away from the pulses grenades, except for one. One grenade moved by the POTDGOTAS, and as it exploded the moment he entered inside the destination on the computer change. Whether by fate, or by ill luck one cannot say, but it was clear that the High Paladin wouldn't be returning home, probably never.
He would however find a new place to travel for his repentance. And this new place was named Equis.

As the High Paladin opened his eyes, he noticed something very different in his surroundings. For one he was surrounded by trees, healthy, full of apples, trees. Second, it was night time, and he knew that it was in the middle of the afternoon in the frozen Wasteland. Thirdly, there was grass of green underneath his boots, and finally he wasn't anywhere near the Lost Hills at all. The High Paladin knew that when he forced transport he wouldn't be at Lost Hills, somewhere close maybe, but the healthy trees around him showed that he probably wasn't anywhere that he could determined 'normal'.
And as he looked in on his Pip-Boy map of the world, he knew he wasn't in the Wasteland anymore. Because the world map only had one strange word in it. Equestria. He looked around to see if he could go anywhere that showed a location, but knew that it would be fruitless, seeing that there was nothing for him to go at all. He moved to his objectives on his Pip-boy to see where he would be lead. This thing tends to show where he needed to go and it hadn't failed him, unlike how he failed the Brotherhood.
However it only said these words.

It appears that this is the only thing that seem sensible right now. thought the High Paladin. However he looked on his 'compass' on his hand and notice a blue line coming from behind him, he turned quickly to see whoever tried to sneak up behind him, only to stop and look in shock of what he was seeing right now. There was a pony, a literal pony up to his stomach size, colorful pony, with a western hat on it's head and a vest before him.
The eyes were too large to be consider normal, it's colorful coat was odd to look at, not to mention it's mane was strangely colorful as it's coat as well. If he was in the Wasteland he would of assumed this creature before him was a mutated creature, however he wasn't and therefore he would have to assumed that this is some sort of native creature that could be either a local tribe member with friendly intentions, or a possible raider that would find a laser blast to the head.
Still perhaps he could get answers from this creature, except those eyes iris were small, meaning if he made any moves then things could go badly. However speaking on the other hand was another method to see if this creature will attack or not. He decided to speak first, hoping that the first thing that would come from his mouth wouldn't come out as a insult, after all there wasn't any need to get enemies in a new location after all, or unless without good reasons.
"Greetings, I am High Paladin. May I know what or who you are?" asked the High Paladin in a calm monotone as his gaze look at the creature, the creature itself looked shocked as it moved back a bit, the ears were flatten as five minutes passed by until it, he replied back. "Um, hello High Paladin. I'm Braeburn, part of the Apple family here in Appleloosa, and I'm a pony. May I ask what kind of critter you are, and what you're doing here so late in the night in the orchard?" An orchard? That does explain the trees around me, but did I heard him correctly? Appleloosa? Strange name for a settlement. Well, best answer his questions, don't want him to assume I'm rude after all. thought the High Paladin as he answered.
"My species is known as human, as for I appeared in your orchards, that is a long tale, the shorter version of it is that I am, was," corrected the High Paladin as he decided internally that he should switch to a lower tech weapon on his Pip-Boy and founded a suitable weapon, the Recharger rifle was a good pick, less chance for anyone to take the ammo, can recharge quickly during battle, and could be mistaken for a mystical weapon for the natives. The only downside to this weapon was that the attacks it gave was 12 hits on his foes.
Still no matter.
He clicked on it from his Pip-Boy and his weapons was switched. He went on to explain to the native, and ignoring the look of awe on the pony face. "Trying to return to home, however my transportation was...interrupted and now I have no way of knowing how, or when I shall return back to my Brotherhood." There was a hint of bitterness when he said brotherhood, seeing on how he exiled himself from said Brotherhood in the first place. But there is no reason for the natives to know that part of me, I'll probably be forgotten as soon as I leave them.
"How were you able to do that Paladin?" asked Braeburn as he moved by the High Paladin side where the pony tried to get a good look at the Paladin Pip-Boy. "Was it some sort of magic doohicky?" asked the pony as he looked up to the armored human. Magic? Well this makes things a bit easier, if I told him what really happened he might want to know more, and the more one knows, the more one wants. Case in point, the NCR. Best let him believe it's magic.thought the High Paladin as he nodded his head. "Yes, and it's hard to understand as well." told the former Brotherhood member.
Braeburn merely shrugged and shake his head. "Unicorns tend to make things difficult to understand when it comes to magical artifacts." High Paladin nodded his head, but stopped when he asked a question. "Wait, you mean there's more than one type of pony around here?" Braeburn look at him with a surprised look, until he remember that this tall metal being was from somewhere else. I bet they have magic, but no ponies around! He could be from...Wait where does he come from? thought Braeburn as he replied back. "Yeah there three tribes of ponies, us Earth Ponies, the Pegasus, and the Unicorns. But correct me if I'm wrong Paladin, but you didn't told me where you're from, or where you said 'home' was at. I don't want to be rude, but may I know where you come from?"
Hmm I could either be honest, but that would mean I would have to tell him about the Brotherhood of Steel. What did the Codex said about a situation like this? 'Do not let the natives know of the technology we safeguard against those who are not ready for it.' Perhaps I could make a half-truth to this native and let him assume the details himself. Thought the High Paladin as he answered. "I lived far, far, far away from this place. So far that you couldn't recognize it at all, and it was so cold that the moment you step outside you would be freezing. And as for home...let just say that I can never return there again." told the High Paladin.
Braeburn gasped. "What happen?" But before the High Paladin could speak, he stop as he can sense something, he look on his Pip-Boy and notice some blue lines coming up to them. He quickly turned as he aimed his rifle. "We have company." he simply said as Braeburn turned in shock as four bipedal dogs were coming up to them. If the pony was up to his stomach in size matter, these dogs were about the length of up to his chest, well most of them are around that size. The small one was up to his knee.
Each of them were different, one was gray, another was brown, one was short and lighter brown, and the last was dark brown. Yet one thing was common, they were ugly dogs. "Arg! So it was you lot that been stealing all those apples!" said Braeburn angrily at the four, the High Paladin look down to the pony. "Stealing?" he asked in confusion, Braeburn glance at the armor being. "Yeah, for the last two weeks we've been seeing our apple trees all over the orchards without apples, the whole lot of us suspected it was somepony from outta town. No respectable pony would of stolen anything from his fellow pony in our town," Braeburn explained to the Paladin, but he was interrupted by the gray dog.
"Silent pony! You shouldn't have stay out in the night, now we have to take not only your apples, but you as well!" told the dog, the brown one by him called out in concern. "What about the tall one? He's too big to be fellow dog, maybe a hornless Minotaur?" the brown one said to it's fellow dogs. "No matter! we'll take them both!" told the gray dog, that's when High Paladin aim his Recharger rifle and pointed it at the four of them. "That is ill-advised, you have one chance to leave." told the ex-Brotherhood member.
While Braeburn looked up to the High Paladin in awe of defending not only himself, but the pony as well, the dogs on the other hand, just laughed at him. "Hahaha! What do you think your going to do? You're holding that club wrong!" told the shortest of the four, the High Paladin decided to use him as a example. "It's not a club," he stated as he enter into V.A.T.S., aimed down to the shorty, aimed for the head with a 95% chance of hit, decided at least two hits would do.
And with that he fired once, then twice to the head, he was surprised however, that the moment he fired at the small one, it's head was forced off it's body. Causing not only the dogs to move back with both shock and fear, but Braeburn to look up to the Paladin with shock as he moved back a bit from the tall metal figure. As he exit out of V.A.T.S. he spoke calmly to the three. "It's something that will end your lives if you try to harm me, or try to steal from me. Now leave." told the High Paladin as the dogs took the head and body, dug into the ground, and left the two in the orchard.
As High Paladin put his rifle on his back he turned his head as he hear Braeburn talking to him. "Paladin, that was...Amazing! Why you showed those dogs who were the bull rider in the arena!" told the earth pony, while Braeburn kept talking High Paladin was trying to figure out what 'bull rider' meant. It can't be what he implies, perhaps what he meant was something quite different. he thought to himself. However he overheard what Braeburn was yakking about. "And with your help, why those dogs will think twice about stealing our apples!" told Braeburn.
"Pardon, but what makes you think I would assist you with those bunch?" inquired High Paladin. Braeburn turned to him in shock. "But I thought," he started, High Paladin raise his right hand up to interrupt him. "The only reason I fought, was in self-defense, therefore I have no reason to aid you, nor your town with my interference unless there is a reason to begin with." he explained to the pony.
Braeburn looked away as he knew that the Paladin was right. There's no way he would willing be in harm way unless we give him a reason...Unless! he thought as an idea came to him, he looked up to the metal being and asked. "What if we help you?" The High Paladin look down to the pony as he replied. "What do you mean?"
"Well, we both know you're not around from here, you're lost, don't have any bits to your name, and don't know where to go, right? So what if we make a deal with you that will benefit the both of us?" said Braeburn as hope filled his large eyes. Hmm he makes a rather valid point, for one thing I have no idea where to go next, and if I'm right these 'bits' are a form of currency like caps, if so then perhaps it would be wise to make a bargain, but on my terms. thought the High Paladin as he nodded his head.
"Very well, however there must be someplace where we can deal, unless you rather we deal out here in the middle of nowhere?" asked the High Paladin. "Yeehaw!" called out Braeburn as he moved his body upwards and kicked his fore hooves in the air, he stopped however as the High Paladin gave a cough as he is somewhat confused on what just happen. "Um, how about we just go to the sheriff place and we'll discuss things with the sheriff? After all he is the one who keep the peace." told Braeburn as he starts moving away from High Paladin. "Come on, I'll show you the way!"
The High Paladin looked down to his Pip-Boy as he sees the objective changed.

Follow Braeburn and discuss the deal.
Very well, perhaps things are meant for the best, me being stranded here. Who knows, perhaps I shall earn my redemption in one form or another. thought the High Paladin as he began to follow the pony out to the orchard and on the road to a new world to travel in.
