Your Contributions Are Big
It was a lovely Saturday evening and Fluttershy was over at Twilight's library. She needed to know some natural remedies for her animals in the future. She was looking at a page that was talking about the natural remedies for the whooping cough. She closed her book and stuffed it into her satchel. She noticed that Twilight was looking through scrolls of spells.
"Fluttershy I'll be right back, okay?" Twilight told Fluttershy.
"Okay." Fluttershy quietly replied. When Twilight seemed to be a good distance away from the library, Fluttershy started looking through the scrolls. She wanted to be a bit more useful for tomorrow. She was going to help the Apple family with their 20th Anniversary of being Sweet Apple Acres, for being here, for not giving up, and so much more.
Fluttershy kept looking at scrolls and tossing them aside one by one. She actually wanted to help tomorrow. More than just take care of their barn animals. Sure she loved them but she felt like she wasn't doing enough work to help them. She was reading a spell that wrote:
Once you recite this spell, you shall be masculine instead of feminine, or vice versa.
Fluttershy was instantly intrigued by this and read the spell in her mind:
Masculine not feminine, feminine not masculine
Help me become of what I need
So that way I can finish my deed
So turn me masculine instead of feminine
Or feminine instead of masculine
Fluttershy was about to recite the spell when Twilight came back.
"I'm back. Hey Fluttershy, decided to read some of the spells?" Twilight asked. Fluttershy just simply nodded her head. She waited for Twilight to be looking the other way, and when she did, she secretly stashed the scroll in her satchel. "Well Fluttershy, it's about time for you to head back home." Twilight said.
"Okay." Fluttershy replied. "Bye..." she whispered.
"Bye!" Twilight Sparkle replied. Twilight Sparkle decided to recount the scrolls in case Fluttershy accidentally took one. Twilight started counting but fell asleep before she could finish. Spike noticed that Twilight fell asleep so he tried his best to get Twilight into bed. He eventually did, but it took a while. When Spike finally finished, he turned off all the lights and fell fast asleep.
Over at Sweet Apple Acres, Applejack just put Apple bloom to bed. AJ quietly trotted downstairs and spoke to her elder brother, Big MacIntosh.
"Thank goodness Fluttershy is able t' help." Applejack whispered.
"Eeyup." Big Mac replied.
"She does so much helpin' the barn animals. I don't wan' her t' change, do you?" Applejack asked her brother with a sly smirk. AJ knew that Big MacIntosh liked Fluttershy more than a friend. She knew that Big MacIntosh had a huge crush on Fluttershy for quite some time.
"N-nope." Big MacIntosh stuttered with a smirk. He felt his face warming up and he tried to cover his cheeks.
"Daw Big Mac, it's okay..." AJ comforted him. He just looked at AJ, he still had his burning blush. It was more pink than Pinkie Pie herself. Big Mac just gave out a small chuckle.
"Well uh, good night sis." Big Mac said.
"'Night." Applejack replied. She trotted upstairs behind her elder brother and went the opposite way Big Mac was going when the both reached upstairs.
AJ liked to get her pajamas on first but Big Mac liked to brush his teeth and wash his face first. AJ got her pajamas on and waited outside the bathroom door. In there, AJ could here her brother humming a familiar tune. It was 'Got The Music In You'. Since the incident happened, Big Mac always liked that song and hummed it every day.
"C'mon Big Mac." AJ whined. Big Mac opened the door and trotted out. "Thanks." AJ told him.
"'Night." Was all she got. She went into the bathroom and washed her face and brushed her teeth. When she finished she trotted back into her room while turning out the bathroom and hall light. She took her hat off and took put her ponytails out and got into her bed. She turned off the light and snuggled into her blankets, she then fell asleep.
Over at Fluttershy's cottage, she took out all her books and placed them underneath her bed. She then pulled out the scroll she had taken and opened it up. She then cleared her throat and chanted the spell:
"Masculine not feminine, feminine not masculine
Help me become of what I need
So that way I can finish my deed
So turn me masculine instead of feminine
Or feminine instead of masculine." Fluttershy waited to see what would happen. She closed her eyes tightly thinking that there was going to be thunder or something over the top. Actually, the exact opposite happened. Instead, nothing happened.
"Oh well." Fluttershy spoke to herself. She put the scroll back into her satchel. She got ready for bed and made sure everything was okay. She then trotted to her bedroom and crawled into her bed. Angel turned the light off and hopped over to Fluttershy to sleep. 'Oh well, I'll just ask Twilight if spells only work on unicorns... ' Fluttershy thought to herself before drifting off into sleep.

It was the next day and Twilight Sparkle woke up early to finish recounting the scrolls. When she finished she accidentally woke up Spike:
"Ah! There's only 255 scrolls and I had 256 scrolls the last time I checked!!" Spike yawned and walked downstairs. He was paranoid at the fact that he was awoken from his beauty sleep.
"What's going on?" Spike asked in an annoying half asleep voice.
"Fluttershy must have accidentally taken a scroll! Oh no! What if she read it out loud on accident?! Oh no, oh no, oh no!" Right then somepony knocked at the door. "Coming!" Twilight called. She opened the door to see Applejack, Big MacIntosh, and Apple bloom.
"Howdy." Applejack said.
"Hi..." Twilight spoke nervously.
"Well, we were going to talk about you helping with the apple cider but we heard you freaking out about Fluttershy and scrolls..." AJ trailed off.
"Oh that, uh, come in!" Twilight Sparkle told them. They trotted in and waited for Twilight Sparkle to speak up.
"Well, you see, Fluttershy was over here yesterday to borrow some books on natural remedies. I told her I was going to be right back, and when I came back Fluttershy was looking through the scrolls I was reading. I didn't mind that at all. They were spell scrolls and when Fluttershy left, I decided to recount the scrolls but I fell asleep before I could finish. I woke up this morning and finished recounting and then I freaked out that I only had 255 scrolls instead of 256 and I thought that Fluttershy accidentally took a scroll and that maybe she accidentally read it out loud." Twilight Sparkle finished.
"Oh... kay...?" Applejack said in confusion. "Well I hope that she didn't read that spell out loud, right?!" Applejack said. The others nodded their heads in agreement.
*beep beep beep be-* Fluttershy pounded the alarm clock off and took off her covers. She stretched and yawned. She then froze midway. She sounded like Flutterguy. Quickly she dashed over to her bathroom and flicked the light switch on. She gasped, or should this pony now be considered a he.
Fluttershy was no longer Fluttershy. She was masculine, very masculine indeed. She was a stallion! He gasped in his Flutterguy tone. 'Should I be glad that I'm more masculine, for have shame for turning me into a guy?' Flutterguy thought. He thought about for a few minutes then decided, 'I'll be glad...' Then he started thinking, 'I'm going to need that old yoke Big Mac gave me.' Then he started thinking why Big Mac gave it to him as he trotted into his room. 'He gave it to me because I helped with the barn animals all the time. But... does that mean that I did a lot of work?' Flutterguy gave a stern face to nopony. 'No! It does not mean that I did a lot of help. I just helped, that's all.' Flutterguy thought as he pulled out the yoke from his closet and put it on. It seemed, lighter. He trotted back into the bathroom and thought, 'Fluttershy seems like a girly name, what should I be named?' He pondered on this subject for 15 minutes or so when he finally came up with his new name.
'I'll be named Butterscotch for now on!' Butterscotch thought proudly. He trotted downstairs and woke up the rest of his animals.
"Wake up." He told the hummingbirds.
"Wake up." He told the bear.
"Wake up." He told to all his animals. His animals were shocked to see Butterscotch. "The name's Butterscotch if you may." Butterscotch told all his animals who asked who he was. He fed his animals breakfast and was finished with giving the mice breakfast when his stomach growled. This was the first time that he had ever finished giving his animals breakfast without struggle. He looked at his stomach and trotted over to the kitchen.
There he poured some Honey Bunches of Oats and poured some skim milk in the bowl. He got out a spoon and bananas along with strawberries. He took out a knife and cut up some banana and strawberry and mixed it into his cereal. He quickly ate his breakfast due to the fact that he was starving. When he finished he rinsed out his bowl and trotted towards the door.
"Bye!" He called out to his animals. The animals waved back as Butterscotch opened the door and shut it closed. He then galloped freely towards Sweet Apple Acres.
Back over at Twilight's library, the Apple family were ready to leave.
"Well we gotta leave towards Sweet Apple Acres. We don't wanna be late for our chores." Applejack called out.
"Okay, bye!" Twilight Sparkle called out.
"Bye!" The Apple family replied as they closed the door behind them. "Okay I know that Fluttershy is still at her place since it takes a while for her to feed her animals." Applejack said. "So we should be good." The Apple family nodded their heads in agreement. They slowed their pace to a slow trot and trotted over to Sweet Apple Acres.
Meanwhile over at Sweet Apple Acres, Butterscotch knew that they would have apple cider there so he looked all over the barn to find no apples have been bucked yet.
He pulled the wagon full of empty baskets over to the trees and put out some baskets underneath the trees. He was ready to buck. Only there was one problem, he didn't know how to buck. He remembered the countless times seeing AJ doing it. He slowly lifted his hind legs and scrunched them up. He then bucked the apple tree lightly. Even though he was a guy, he was still a bit dainty and shy. Since he was masculine though, she managed to knock off all the apples off the apple tree. He took the rest of the baskets and laid them on the ground. Then he put the baskets that were full of apples into the wagon. He continued bucking until...
"Fluttershy?!"
Applejack, Big Mac, and Apple bloom slowly trotted towards Sweet Apple Acres. It was only 6:00 AM and they had a plan.
Their plan was to wait at Sweet Apple Acres until Fluttershy came, and then they would tackle her and they would make her spit out the core, or the truth... either one. Still, they knew that their plan was fool proof for sure. They were at the edge of Sweet Apple Acres when they herd thumping. They could hear the thumping by the echo and they started to get worried. They galloped to see who or what was making that thumping sound. When they got there, they were shocked to the bone. Nopony could say a word. Luckily, the pony didn't see or hear them yet. The three ponies calmed down and were ready to face the pony. They didn't get an exact look at this pony so they didn't know who it was until they came out.
"Fluttershy?!" They all exclaimed in shock.
"Gah!" Butterscotch shrieked. He tried to hide his face. AJ trotted over to Butterscotch and lifted his head up.
"Fluttershy?" AJ asked. Butterscotch lifted his head up.
"It's Butterscotch." He simply told Applejack. He tried to hide his face again but Applejack's hoof was holding Butterscotch's head.
"Listen uh- Butterscotch, we all have the obvious question... WHY IN THE NAME OF TARNATION DID YA DO THIS TO YOURSELF?!" AJ asked.
"Because..." Butterscotch began. "Because I wasn't doing enough work around here, not helping enough so while I was over at Twilight's place, I looked through the scrolls that had spells on them. I found one and said it before I went to bed but nothing happened. The next day, I turned into a stallion. All I wanted was to be stronger, not turn into a stallion. Then I thought that this is probably what I was asking for so I appreciated it. As I was getting the old yoke Big Mac gave me, I thought that the reason why he gave it to me was because I helped you guys out, but was it a lot of help? Oh course not so I-" Butterscotch was interrupted.
"Sugarcube, you do a lot of help, and I mean it." Applejack said.
"No I don't." Butterscotch tried to defend.
"Yes you do. Big Mac gave you that ol' yoke as a reminder of all the work you've done."
Applejack added on.
"All the work I've barley done!" Butterscotch snapped.
"No! All the work you have tremendously done! If it weren't for you, Sweet Apple Acres would be a graveyard instead of an apple farm." Applejack said.
"You could've gotten a vet." Butterscotch pointed out.
"Yes, we could have, but that brings up this question. If we could have gotten a vet, why did we all decide to ask you instead?" Applejack asked.
"So that way you wouldn't be in poverty." Butterscotch stated.
"No! Because you are the best vet!" Applejack answered.
"I'm not even a veterinarian. I'm just a pony with a lot of pets." Butterscotch said.
"Then how did ya get your Cutie Mark Sugarcube?" Applejack asked.
"By talking to animals." Butterscotch blandly stated.
"And..." Applejack said.
"And what?" Butterscotch asked sarcastically.
"And you can take care of them!" Applejack finished.
"No, that's a hobby." Butterscotch said.
"No it's not!" Applejack refused.
"I can't believe you thought you weren't doing any work Sugarcube."
"Please don't call me Sugarcube anymore, it's very annoying and is becoming a pet peeve." Butterscotch said.
"Okay, Butterscotch." Applejack replied. "You have done a lot of work! No pony else would do the same if they had the same abilities as you!" Applejack pointed out. Butterscotch took a deep breath. Applejack was guessing that he was thinking through everything she had just said.
"Applejack?" Apple bloom asked.
"What is it lil' sis?" Applejack asked.
"Do you have any idea where Big Mac went?" Apple bloom asked pointing to where he was sitting. Big Mac was gone and nopony knew where he was. Butterscotch snapped put of her thoughts and looked around for Big Mac, but he was no where to be seen.
By now, it was 7-7:30 AM and they had to get started by 8:30, so in one hour. Butterscotch saw a small red dot off in the distance coming this way. "Hey guys, I think it's Big Mac!" Of course, since he was shy and quiet, nopony heard him. "Ahem!" He said. Apple bloom noticed and got Applejack's attention. "I think Big Mac's over there." He said, pointing to the red dot. The dot had gotten bigger and now all three noticed a purple dot and a black and white dot.
"That must be Zecora and Twilight!" Apple bloom exclaimed. Both Butterscotch and Applejack looked looked up to see a purple dot, a red dot, and a black and white dot.
"Good for you!" Applejack said.
As the three dots got closer, they started to look more like puny ponies rather than dots, and as the three puny ponies got closer, they started to look like two ponies and a zebra, and when they got to Butterscotch, Apple bloom, and Applejack, they looked like a Twilight Sparkle, a Big MacIntosh, and a Zecora.
"Fluttershy!" Twilight Sparkle gasped.
"Oh my, Fluttershy, what happened?" Zecora asked.
"It's Butterscotch." Big Mac corrected. Zecora and Twilight Sparkle looked at each other in confusion, but they just shrugged it off.
Applejack explained what happened with a few corrections corrected by Butterscotch. When Applejack was finished, Twilight Sparkle and Zecora had faces that said 'why Fluttershy why?!'
"Can I just say one more thing?" Butterscotch asked.
"Sure, what is it?" Twilight asked.
"Now that Applejack gave me a pep talk and that she told you the story from start to finish, I realise something." Butterscotch said.
"What?" Twilight asked.
"That big or small, your contribution to help somepony is a lot, and... that it doesn't matter who you are your contribution always changes that pony and the world." Butterscotch admitted.
"Good, I'm finally am glad that you understand now." Twilight Sparkle said.
"Sorry to interrupt but, I think that helping Butterscotch is a must." Zecora said.
"You can call me Fluttershy..." Butterscotch said. Applejack gave Butterscotch a glare. "... and Sugarcube." Butterscotch said with a sigh.
"Alright Sugarcube, lets go to Zecora's place!" Applejack called out.
At Zecora's place, Zecora was trying to find the remedy for Butterscotch. Twilight Sparkle was helping too. Big MacIntosh noticed a green booked titled, 'Supernaturals'. Big Mac tried to find something to stand on since it was on top of something that was taller than him. He eventually decided to carefully move the pile of books Zecora and Twilight Sparkle had made. Big Mac was about to push it when Twilight got in the way. Big Mac waited but the book she put on top was the book that was going to make the pile topple over. Big Mac tried to get out of the way but it was to late. He got buried by books as the pile crashed onto him. Applejack and Apple bloom were giggling but Butterscotch was trying to help him.
The pile of books was so big that it made the green book land into the pile but Big Mac didn't notice. When he was finally able to get free, Twilight Sparkle said, "Sorry Big Mac!"
"No problem." He replied. He noticed something shining in the pile. It turned out that it was the green book. It had some gold on the binding which Big Mac just noticed. He flipped to a random page which had the Poison Joke remedy. He flipped the next page to see a remedy for Love Poison. He continued to look through the book page by page until he got to the last page. This page had the remedy for a Gender Bent Pony.
"Found it." He called out. Everypony and Zecora gathered around him. Apple bloom took the book from her brother's hooves and read the remedy out loud.
"This remedy is for all creatures who have been gender bent, or have their sexes changed. For this remedy you will need heart's desire and the remedy for Poison Joke. Once you have those two together put in the Poison Joke remedy then the heart's desire in. Mash it up then mix it. Once finished, you have the creature eat all of it in one serving. This should start immediately." Apple bloom read out loud.
Zecora trotted over to get the Poison Joke remedy. "Apple bloom my dear, please bring the heart's desire over here." Zecora told Apple bloom.
"Here." Apple bloom said as she placed the heart's desire right next to the bowl. Zecora tapped some heart's desire on top of the Poison Joke remedy. She then mashed it up and then mixed it in.
"Fluttershy, here is the remedy, eat it all for me, eat it all for them, for it shall make them-" Zecora was interrupted.
"Ahem." Twilight Sparkle said. Zecora got the message and let Butterscotch eat the remedy all in one serving.
Immediately, Butterscotch felt odd. He started to feel more... feminine? He felt lighter, weaker, mare like, and feminine. When he finished, he was a she now.
"Fluttershy!" Everypony and everyzebra cried out. They all hugged Fluttershy and Fluttershy tried to hug them all back.
"Thank you all." Fluttershy whispered in her usual feminine tone. They all let go and started cleaning up the mess. When everything was cleaned up Fluttershy noticed it was 8:45 AM. "Oh my I'm late." She whispered as she opened the door in a dainty way then dashed out of Zecora's place.
"What's wrong with-" Applejack realized that they were late. "C'mon Big Mac and Apple bloom. You too, Twilight. We're late!" Applejack called out.
"Bye." Zecora said.
"Bye!" They all replied as they dashed out the door. They caught up to Fluttershy quickly because she forgot to take her yoke off.
"Here." Big Mac said as he took off the yoke from Fluttershy. Fluttershy blushed and tried to hide it under her hair.
"Daw Sugarcube, you're blushin' aren't you?" Applejack asked Fluttershy.
"Um... yes..." Fluttershy whispered. Big Mac planted a kiss on her cheek and she blushed like a wild fire.
Over at Sweet Apple Acres, Twilight helped pick the apples by using her magic, Applejack called Pinkie Pie and ordered 250 apple pies, 250 apple fritters, and 500 caramel apples, Apple bloom brought over the Cutie Mark Crusaders and they helped make the banner, Fluttershy was checking on the barn animals, and Big Mac was making apple cider and he later picked up all the desserts Pinkie Pie made. They actually got finished early so they all had some apple cider, and they invited Pinkie Pie too.
"Phew. I'm surprised that we finished early, and Fluttershy?" Applejack asked.
"What?" Fluttershy asked.
"What if I told you that a certain stallion likes you more than a friend? Hint, best friends brother." Applejack said.
"Big MacIntosh?" Fluttershy guessed. Big Mac's face flustered the color of Pinkie Pie's mane.
"E-e-eeyup..." Big Mac stuttered in embarrassment. He tried to cover up his face put Fluttershy stopped him.
"It's okay." Fluttershy whispered. Fluttershy gave Big Mac a hug and gave him a kiss on his cheek. Everypony awed and Big Mac just flustered some more. Fluttershy let out a small giggle. "You know, Hearts and Hooves day is coming up in two weeks." Fluttershy mentioned.
"Really?!" Twilight Sparkle asked in surprise.
"Oh boy, you two would be the cutest couple ever!" Sweetie Belle cried out.
"I agree!" Pinkie Pie blurted out. Fluttershy and Big Mac just blushed.
Dear Princess Celestia,
Today I learned a very important lesson. I learned that no matter how big or small your contribution is to help somepony, it's always big and makes a huge difference. And I also learned that a certain somepony likes me. But for now, I have learned my lesson and will never forget it.

"Hey Spike." Fluttershy called. She was back in the library returning the books she had borrowed.
"Yes Fluttershy?" Spike asked.
"Would you send this to Princess Celestia please?" Fluttershy asked.
"Why sure I would." Spike said as he blew his green fire to send the letter off to Princess Celestia.
