Epilogue
Previous Chapter--- Epilogue ---
Princess Celestia opened her eyes groggily to find her entire body covered in a sheen of sweat. Her muscles strained and ached as she tried to sit up on the wet bed-sheets that were soaked with arousal to the point that it was beyond salvaging. However, and quite importantly, she was awake. She blinked the sleep away, pinching herself as well just to make sure, and charged her horn. The darkness in her room was blasted away by an intense golden glow, and Celestia laid her head back onto her pillow with a contented sigh as the first rays of the morning sun entered her room through the glass balcony doors.
The dream crumbled away just as Princess Luna stepped out of the arena and into the starlit landscape outside. Purple skies were framed by dark blue constellations and silvery nebulous systems of crisscrossing pathways that let Luna walk the world of dreams. She shut the door of the building with a loud slam, and was about to demolish the cursed thing with her magic when she decided she was just too tired to deal with it at the moment. With a loud and exhausted sigh, she sat on the grassy field below and lay down lazily. Never mind the clean-up process, the crisis had been averted, and all was well and good again. She had her cake-hogging sister back, and she congratulated herself on a job well done.
Nightmare Moon retreated to a relatively obscure part of the Dreamscape, tending to her bruises. A spell or two had fixed most of everything, save her wounded pride. Hatred welled up within her chest, and she smashed a solid hardwood table clean in half with a clenched fist.
"CURSES!" She screamed, unheard by anypony.
In the privacy of her chambers; which she had practically torn apart, she vented her frustrations. The room, illuminated by moonlight and the soft glow of crystals, served as refuge from pesky dreamwalkers that scouted the void between dreams on behalf of Princess Luna.
Granted, she would have built a giant, imposing castle of doom (and screwed with everypony's dreams) as any good villainess should, but she was lacking a tad bit on magical powers. The bout itself had taken much of her reserves, and her simple room would have to suffice while she bided until it was time to strike…again.
Twilight Sparkle found herself in complete darkness just as the doors to the arena slammed shut and the last pony stepped out.
“…Hello?”
Her voice reverberated around the empty building, and a chill ran down her spine when it echoed spookily.
She whined.
“Aww buck.”
