The eldest was a tall white coated stallion with a flowing, blazing red mane he was in charge of raising the sun at dawn. The youngest was a, nearly as tall, dark blue coated mare with a flowing, nearly transparent blue mane she was in charge of raising the moon at dusk. The two siblings kept peace and balance for many years however over time the young sister grew resentful of her older brother, as their subjects played and frolicked in the bright and joyful day her brother brought but they would sleep through her beautiful night and one day she had, had enough! One night the sister refused to lower the moon to make way for the sun her brother tried to reason with her however the young mare wasn't having it and she attacked her brother and it was right there that the darkness surrounding the young sister engulfed her, banishing her love and compassion and transforming her heart as black as the night she watch over and when the transformation was over the sister was now Nightmare moon! Realising her new strength Nightmare moon decided to cover the whole of Equestria in the shadow of eternal night so she spread her wings and flew straight to the Everfree forest ,the most dangerous place in the whole of Equestria, to raise an army of bat ponies ,as they to love the idea of eternal night, and together they attacked the palace. The older brother knew that he had to raise an army to counter his sister's so he contacted the captain of the guard and had him get every single royal guard ready for the epic battle that was about to unfold. The Pegasi royal guard attacked first when the bat ponies came into view, they struck a lot of the ponies in the front row down to the ground and those who survived the fall would be attacked by the earth pony royal guards killing them in the process however the bat ponies had a secret. Just by biting a pony on the neck they would transform them into bat ponies just like them and that's just what they did. With her now bigger army of bat ponies Nightmare moon attacked the rest of the guards ether killing them or transforming them into bat ponies however they struggled a little with the unicorn guards in fact when they got past them they just slaughtered them in cold blood and with no pony standing in her way Nightmare moon could now attack her main target her older brother. The older brother watched the whole carnage from his window and it was sicking he even vomited a couple of times from all the blood and when the unicorn royal guards became his last hope of survival he knew right there and then that he had to step in. Nightmare moon had just sent her army to go search the castle for any survivors of their attack meanwhile she headed to the throne room where her brother was. When she got to the doors of throne room she opened them only to be blasted back by her brother and when she opened her eyes she saw that she was bleeding from her back due to the impact of the wall she also saw her brother ,with tears streaming from his eyes, orbiting 6 crystals around him and she recognised the crystals instantly they were the elements of harmony possibly the strongest magic in the whole of Equestria and their awesomely powerful magic the older brother banished his little sister to moon she used to watch over. Since that very day the older brother has taken over the role of raising the moon as well as raising the sun and as for Nightmare moon legend as it that on the longest day of the thousandth year the stars will aid in her escape and she will bring back eternal night once again. As the lavender coated unicorn stallion known as Duskshine raced down the road to the royal library A.K.A his home he had only one thing one his mind, "I know I've heard of the elements of harmony from somewhere but where?" Duskshine charged up the spiral staircase to the library and slammed through the doors scaring his assistant Spike causing him to drop to the floor collapsing the tower of books that he was balancing in his hands engulfing him in books. Having witness his number 1 assistants' accident Dusk rushed to the newly created pile of books and levitated the books away on to their proper places on the millions of bookshelves around them. When the purple mane unicorn turned to look at the purple and green baby dragon he was standing on his feet while rubbing his head "Dusk! You've could've killed me!" Shouted Spike, Duskshine look at Spike sheepishly "Oh sorry about that Spike," he said, Spike stopped rubbing his head and looked at Duskshine with confused and questioning eyes "What happened? Why did you come crashing in through the doors?" He asked, Duskshine stopped at this as his brain waves snapped together "Oh yeah quickly Spike I need a copy of Predictions and profacipes," Requested Dusk. Spike stood straight and saluted at Dusk as a sign of understanding what he has been asked to do and he then bolted to a nearby bookshelf to begin the search. After 10 minutes of searching Spike found the book and brought it to Duskshine who then thanked his assistant and opened up the book, "Elements of harmony e,e,e.....here it is 'elements of harmony see mare in the moon'?" Duskshine looked up from his book in confusion and when he looked at Spike he noticed the angry glare that his assistant was giving him "you interrupted me from cleaning to do research on a bedtime story are you kidding me!" He screamed however Duskshine wasn't listening he was too busy thinking about what the book meant went suddenly something clicked in his brain he jumped up and shouted, "the book that's it!" He screamed. Duskshine levitated the book he was reading out if his saddlebag and he skimmed through it to the end of the story he read what it said out loud, "legend as it that on the longest day of the thousandth year the stars will aid in her escape and she will bring back eternal night once again," he read out loud. Duskshine looked up from his book with a face full of fear he turned to Spike, "Spike do you know what this means?" He asked Spike gave Dusk a confused look before answering, "No......what does it mean?" Asked Spike, "It means that Nightmare moon will return tonight!" Dusk shouted, "Are you going send the prince a letter about this our what?" He asked, Dusk calmed down and pulled himself together before answering, "Yes Spike I will," and with those words Spike pulled out a piece of paper and starting writing down everything that Duskshine said: Dear prince Solarise, It has come to my attention that the mare in moon is actually Nightmare moon and she will Return tonight at the summer sun celebration tonight I await you quick responds Your faithful student, Duskshine ".....there done," Spike reported, "Good sent it please," Dusk requested, and so Spike carefully rolled up the letter and blew on it causing a green flame to come out burning the letter transforming it into a magical mist which flew out the window to the prince. " There it's on it's way but I wouldn't hold my breath if I was you Dusk," Spike warned but Dusk just brushed this off, "Oh I'm not worried Spike the prince trust me completely," he assured and at that very moment Spike burped out a letter with the prince's crest on it Duskshine's face glowed with happiness when he saw it, "I knew that the prince would want to take Immediate action what does it say? Evacuated Equestria, use the Elements of harmony or call my brother Shining armour so he can raise an army to have an epic battle of good vs evil?" Dusk asked with excitement, Spike opened the letter and read what it said, "It says to get a life," Spike explained.
