Rarity ran as fast as she could, for once not caring about messing her mane up. The darkness chased after her, a swirling vortex of purple and black. It engulfed her. She heard a voice, a voice of a stallion.
"He-hello?" She called out nervously.
"Come to me, Rarity," It sang. "And follow my way, into the world of darkness and magic,"
"No!" she gasped. "Stop it!"
There was a hissing noise. Rarity could almost feel the change in mood, as her pursuer became angry. She felt a searing pain in her back. It was travelling up to her head, to her horn...
"No!" Rarity sat up with a start. She was sure she had been dreaming, but there was still a faint pain in her head. It wasn't moving though, just a headache. Sweetie Belle burst into the room.
"Are you alright, sis?" She asked, concerned. "I heard you scream."
"It was very brave of you to come for me dear, but I'm fine. It was just a nightmare." She said soothingly. "Go back to bed now, Sweetie Belle."
"Okay, Rarity," Sweetie Belle cheerfully trotted out of the room.
Rarity sighed. That was the second time she'd had that nightmare. It didn't scare her so much when she was awake, but it did trouble her. Did the dream mean something? Rarity dismissed the idea immediately, deciding she was overreacting. She did do that a lot.
"Goodness Rarity, stop being such a foal. It was only a nightmare." She muttered to herself.
Come to me, Rarity...
Her eyes widened. Now she was really paranoid. It was only about 5 o'clock, but she decided that she should get up and have breakfast. Maybe that would take her mind off of her nightmare. Sighing blearily, she slipped out of her bed and put on her dressing gown and slippers. Her headache thudded even harder. She felt like she had a hangover.
"Do I?" She murmured. No, it wasn't bad enough. Just a headache. And Rarity was fairly sure she would remember something if she had gone for a couple of drinks.
