Brain Scramble was walking around town picking up supplies for a friend, Zecora. As she paid for the last of the ingredients for a special tea she was making Brain noticed a poster that said Hearts and Hooves say was tomorrow, “Celistia!” she said under her breath “I almost forgot.” She broke into a gallop to Zecora’s hut.

When she arrived she knocked on the door and Zecora opened up the door with a grin “Hello Brain, have you brought the grain?” she asked ushering Brain in.
“Yes I did” she said while giving her the bag and sitting down. “Zecora did you know tomorrow was Hearts and Hooves day?” she asked looking at the tea Zecora had prepared moments before.
She nodded and sat down across from Brain “Yes I did, how has this holiday hid?” Most ponies didn’t like Zecora’s rhyming but Brain found it intriguing.
“I just forgot with all the stuff going on right now” she said. Referring to the “stuff” she meant her pegasus friend, Derpy Hooves leaving.

A few hours later Zecora had left to gather some poison joke, Brain did not know why, so she stayed and tidied up a bit. Zecora always told her not to mess with anything, but she decided it was the nice thing to do. She put the spices in alphabetic order, washed the dishes, and made bed. While cleaning she noticed a bottle of jar of cloud, a jar of rainbow, and even some pegasi feathers. She remembered a recipe she read about once and thought about making it. She thought better of it and decided to wait until Zecora got back.

She waited for at least half an hour, then curiosity got the best of her. She began mixing the ingredients together and when she was done she had a whole bottle of some purple drink. She remembered it was a love potion and quickly hid it in her bag. A few minutes later Zecora got back with some poison joke and set it down. She looked around and smiled, “Thank you Brain for cleaning,” then she noticed Brain’s bright smile “It is nice to see you beaming.” After talking for a while Brain got up, said goodbye, grabbed her bag and left.

Back in Ponyville, Brain decided to try out the love potion. But just to be secretive she bought a perfume bottle and poured the potion in that. See knew not to mess with feelings but she was so curious to see what would happen. She soon saw Big Mac helping Cherlilee with her bags. Brain smiled and made her way over to them, “Hey Mac!” she called waving her hoof. He saw her and waved back. When she got up to him she asked “Would you mind testing this perfume I made, I want to see a colt’s reaction?”
He nodded and said “Eyup” So she sprayed him and he suddenly lost his footing. Mrs. Cherlilee rushed toward him as Brain took a step back. Mac looked up and gazed into Cherlilee’s eyes and smiled and broad smile. Pretty soon they began a very deep conversation about Hearts and Hooves day so Brain walked away with her own smile.
