An Apple's Love Is Forever
In a quaint little cottage, that sat near the edge of the Everfree forest, with a grassy rooftop, and two stories, big enough for a family, there was a wonderful one.
The red Earth pony, with a collar around his neck, was happily married to a yellow Pegasus, with a pink mane and tail.
And they have two children, a brown Earth pony colt named Apple Turnover, and a rose pink Pegasus filly named Apple Blossom.
However, Apple Turnover is always jealous of his sister, because he feels that his parents love her more then him.
"She always gets attention because Ma and Pa always like her best", he thought to himself always looking angrily at his twin.
"I just wish there will be someway to let our son see how much teasing his sister is doing to her Big Mac", Fluttershy often said to her husband.
"I do too Fluttershy, my Little Sapling just can't take it no more", Big Mac always replied, in his Southern accent.
"I know Mama and Daddy are trying their best but I don't know what else to do", Apple Blossom thought to herself one night.
Little did the Apple family know, that all the way up at the North Pole, that there was a jolly old unicorn, as white as snow, dressed in red and white.
"Poor Apple Blossom, her brother just never learns", Winter Dreams said, as he looked at the little Pegasus through his magic mirror.
"Until he finally changes his ways I'm afraid it will be coal for Apple Turnover."
It was a bright and crystal winter's morning on the month of Hearth Warming Eve, and everypony was getting ready for the festivities.
Even the small Apple family is decorating their home for the holidays.
"Now remember Little Sapling, Winter Dreams will only come when you and your brother are asleep."
"Alrighty Daddy, I'll do my best not to wake up till morning."
Fluttershy was in the kitchen making a batch of lovely sugar cookies for Winter Dreams when he visits their home.
"I hope he likes little snowflake shapes", she said, pulling out the sheet of cookies of the oven.
"Ma, y'all really don't believe in Winter Dreams do ya?" Apple Turnover said, as he walked in, smelling the scent of cookies.
"Of course I do."
"Ma, he's just a stupid fairy tale."
"How could you say that son?" Big Mac said, as he walked the house with his daughter.
"Yeah, he is real, isn't he Mama?" Apple Blossom asked her mother, with little sad eyes.
"Of course he is Apple Blossom", Fluttershy said, smiling at her daughter.
"Pa, Ma, I don't know why you fill her head with such silly stories", Apple Turnover said, at his mother and father.
"They're not silly Apple Turnover, they are the hope of everypony's Hearth Warming wish", Fluttershy said smiling at her son.
"Your mother's right son, there is nothing wrong with making a very special wish on this day."
"You're silly to think it's true Apple Blossom."
"I am? But why?" Apple Blossom asked, shocked at her brother.
"Well, you think you're gonna get something special because you think you are so special, but you're not."
"I'm not? But Mama and Daddy always tell me every night."
"They are just saying that, they don't mean it."
"Really?"
"Eeeyup, Ma and Pa are just kissing up to you to make me feel bad."
Apple Blossom ran up to her room, landed on her bed, and started to cry.
"That does it young colt, you better go up to your room, your father and I will have a little talk with you later."
"But Ma", Apple Turnover tried to say to his mother, but was cut off by his father.
"No buts son, now go!"
Apple Turnover marched up to his room, very sourly.
"Maybe he will change, Big Mac."
"I hope so too, Fluttershy."
Big Mac went up to his daughter's room, and said to her as he went inside, "It's okay, Little Sapling."
"Daddy, I hope my brother will change by tomorrow."
"I hope so too, Little Sapling."
Big Mac held his daughter closely, and sang his special lullaby to her he had often sing since she was a baby.
"My sweet Little Sapling, you mean so much to me and my heart.
I never want to part.
Someday my love will see you through.
We will be together me and you. I will always be with you."
Apple Blossom slept soundly in her father's forelegs.
Big Mac tucked his daughter in, and kissed her gently on her forehead.
"Sweet dreams, Little Sapling."
Meanwhile, Apple Turnover started thinking about what he had said to his sister, and he came to a conclusion.
"I'm a big jerk. I'd better change my ways before it's too late."
"I see we have finally made the right decision I see", said his mother.
"That's right Ma."
"That's good son, I'd bet Winter Dreams will be pleased", his father said, as he came out Apple Blossom's room.
"Yes Pa."
The very next morning, Hearth Warmeing Day, the little cottage living room was full of presents sent from Winter Dreams.
The foals were so excited.
Apple Blossom got a lovely stuffed bunny, pony, and a puppy.
Apple Turnover was surprised when he opened his presents, and got a baseball, a glove, and a cap.
"I guess Winter Dreams heard what you said about changing your ways", Fluttershy said.
"Of course he did Ma."
"Just remember son, an Apple loves all of his children, no matter what, an Apple's love is forever", said Big Mac with a smile.
"Yes Pa."
From that moment on Apple Turnover and Apple Blossom became the best of friends.
