The meeting

"Why does this always happen to me," a weak voice said. Deep in the Everfree Forest, a white earth pony, stained with blood, with a purple mane and tail. His golden eyes pierced through the darkness as the pony staggered his way along. "Why, why, why does this happen," he repeated to himself. "I was a simple job but I had to fuck it up."

The purple mane pony made it to the exit of the forest as it started to rain. The stallion loved the cool water washing over his coat; making some of the blood wash away. He continued to stagger as he saw a small cottage. He managed to make his way to the door but only managed to hit his head against it.

The thud on the door was loud enough to wake the owner. A pale yellow pegasus walked down the stairs to her front door.

"Hello," she said quietly, "is anypony there? Do you need help?" Silence was her only response. The pegasus opened the door to see a lifeless body crash to her floor. With a small eek, she hid behind her chair and peaked around it to see if the body had moved. Seconds turned to a minute as the body laid motionless over the threshold. The pale pink mane pegasus began to worry after the second minute. She dragged the unconscious pony into her house and to the bathroom. She managed to plop the pony on the toilet as she ran a hot bath and go through her medicine cabinet for her first aid kit. She immediately treated the cuts and gashes that tattooed the white stallion's chest, back and legs. The pegasus was almost done when the the stallion began to wake from his unconscious rest.

"Where am I," the stallion said groggy.

"You're in my cottage," the pegasus said as she clean up the last wound.

"Who are you?"

"I'm Fluttershy. You made your way to my cottage but you fell unconscious."

"I wasn't too heavy for you?"

"Sometimes I need to massage a bear so I need to be strong." The stallion froze after hearing what she said. "So, what your name?"

"Day Break but you can call me Day or Break."

"Nice to meet you." Fluttershy stopped the running water as a thin amount of steam rose from it. Day Break was about to leave but Fluttershy stopped him.

"I thought you were taking a bath."

"The bath isn't for me, it's for you." Fluttershy guided him into the bath as Day's coat connected to the water. "I'll be back with a towel shortly" Fluttershy left the room, leaving Day Break to his thoughts.

"I shouldn't be here," he thought, "Fluttershy seems like a nice girl; she shouldn't help someone like me" Day looked down at the bath water as dirt and blood began to surround him. "I should leave soon. The longer I stay the worst." Day tried to get out of the tub but found out he had gotten weak. He sat in the tub moping as Fluttershy entered with a towel and a cup of tea.

"Are you alright," Fluttershy asked

"Just a little weak but yeah." Fluttershy helped Day out the tub, drying off and onto the couch.

"You don't mind sleeping here do you," Fluttershy asked.

"No problem." Fluttershy covered Day with a blanket and went up stairs.

"Good night Day."

"Good night Shy."

Rain hit the window as Day Break laid awake. He tried getting up but it was pointless. Day knew he had to wait. Days, weeks, months, years; Day didn't know but he did know that Fluttershy and her friends, if any, are in trouble.

"Why does this happen to me?"
