To love an older woman
Texting Fist Bumps
Previous ChapterNext ChapterAs you get back onto the sidewalk you can't help but celebrate. Mental fist pumps everywhere. Actual fist pumps.
You can't believe you just pulled that shit off.
Are you dreaming? No, you can't be dreaming. This all seems so real.
You pull out your phone and look into the contacts.
You scroll all the way down and see "Velvet."
She's actually in there.
It is at this point that all thoughts of Cheerilee dissipate completely from your mind.
You think about the sheepish smile Velvet had on almost the entire time...
...And she actually chased after you. Thats got to mean something, right?
You lock your phone and put it back in your pocket, taking a deep sigh as you start your mostly dark walk back to your place.
She looked so beautiful tonight.
That smile...laugh...giggle...her eyes. Just everything about her is amazing to you.
And she wants to see you again. You feel happiness well up inside of you. You don't think you could feel more happy right now. Its as if all is right in the world.
You get an idea.
Pulling out your phone, you pull her up in your contacts. You tap the "Send message" button.
You begin tapping out the message, "Here. Now you have my number."
Sent.
Alright. Now she'll be able to call and text you whenever. You're almost home when you get a message back.
VRRRRRR
Your heart skips a beat. You pull out your phone.
"Thank you, Anon. I had fun tonight."
"Me too. Is Twilight in the know?"
"I don't think so."
"Alright, well, one step at a time..."
"She's usually at the library after school...did you want to come over sometime this week or something?"
She's actually into you. She actually wants to see you again. All the negative feelings of being shot down are completely gone, even though it happened twice within the past couple of weeks.
"Yeah, I'd love to."
"I haven't had a man in my life in awhile, Anon...I really hope you're serious."
"I am! I'll prove it to you."
"How?"
“Well...only through time can I actually prove it."
"I don't know if I like your intentions, Anon."
What the fuck? Whats she mean by that?
"What do you mean?"
"Well...you were staring at me the entire night ;P"
Oh. She's joking. "It was more or less admiring a rare piece of art. You don't see women your age looking so young."
"You were staring at my hips, Anon...Did you see something you liked?"
She's flirting.... SHE'S FLIRTING! YES!
You carefully think of a response.
"No. I just really liked your dress is all."
"Haha, I seriously doubt that, Anon."
"It was an amazing dress."
"Stop! I know you're lying!"
You smile at her text as you walk through the front door. Your Mom must be at her night shift, not being home and all. Flicking on a light, you walk into your living room after kicking off your shoes. Sitting on the couch, you type back,
"Yeah. You're right."
"I knew it. Who knows. We'll see how this goes...maybe you can see them in more detail eventually."
Insta-boner. Holy shit, calm down.
You breathe deeply before responding back.
She seems really eager. Maybe she really hasn't had much excitement in recent years.
"I wouldn't mind that at all, actually."
"I know you wouldn't. You're lucky Twilight didn't notice."
"Maybe she did."
"Well...if this gets more serious, do you think we should tell her?"
"Well, yeah."
"This is why I was so hesitant. I don't know how she would handle it."
"Like I keep saying, we haven't even known each other that long."
"But she's interested in you the same way I am."
"She'll get over it. Its not like she's in love with me or anything."
"I suppose you're right."
"Don't worry about it so much. Lets just see where this goes...if it gets serious, we'll tell her."
"Okay. That sounds good. I'm going to go to bed."
"Yeah, same here."
"Night, Anon <3"
"Night."
HOLY SHIT!
You fucking did it. You couldn't feel more successful at this very moment.
As you exit out the phone call, you're brought to the main screen of your phone.
New messages.
One from Twilight. You tap it open.
"Anon, I'm sorry for all the drama tonight."
You quickly tap back: "No problem! I actually had a good time."
You stick your phone back into your pocket and peel your smelly socks off.
Walking into your room, you flick on your lights and close the door behind you.
You throw yourself onto your bed and stare up the ceiling.
Holy shit. This is actually happening.
You lay there, reflecting on everything that just happened.
Why did she run up to you? Is she desperate? Did she feel a connection with you?
You're not sure. You're just glad she di-
VRRRRRRR
Eh wha-
You pull out your phone again. Twilight messaged you back with, "Really?"
Shit. Maybe you should have played it safe with your reply. You get an idea.
Tapping back you say, "Yeah, the food was amazing. I try not to focus on the negatives."
That'll work.
VRRRRR
"Did my Mom say anything to you?"
"Yeah, nothing noteworthy though."
Each time you finish replying you set your phone down and look up at the ceiling again, basking in the happiness you feel from not being rejected for once.
Twilight messages back, "When can we hang out again?"
She sounds a lot like her Mom with that question.
"I'm not sure. I have plans that I have to make this week, but I'll let you know what my week looks like."
"Oh...well alright."
"Hows your Dad doing?"
"He's fine. Wouldn't shut up about his new toy."
"Toy?"
"Yeah, he goes through women like tissue paper."
You snicker at her text.
"Oh, so they're not getting married?"
"They're getting married. I just don't think it will last."
"I see. So why does he support only your Mom if he's been with so many women?"
"He supports me. I'm his kid...she just kind of benefits from it. I'm glad she doesn't have to work."
"Why?"
"She's been through enough."
You figure you shouldn't prod further. Probably getting into really personal territory here.
"Well as long as things are looking up from here."
"They are...Hey, Anon?"
"Yeah?"
"I know you're busy this week, but..."
"Yeah...?"
"If you have free time...did you like, want to go see a movie or something."
Oh shit. What should you say? ...Well, If you went as friends it wouldn't hurt, right?
Wait, you need to put Velvet into consideration here. Maybe she would feel hurt if you went and did something like this is Twilight.
Oh god. This isn't looking good. Okay, Okay...calm down. Just sit on the fence for now.
You start tapping back, "Yeah, that sounds like fun. I'll see when I'm available this week after I get my stuff planned..."
"Really?!" she texts back, obviously excited about your response.
"Yep. What movie did you want to see?"
"I didn't even look yet. I thought you'd say no."
"Haha, alright well, start looking and let me know what you want to see."
"Okay!"
"Just remember I might not be able to make it this week..."
You feel bad typing that out, it being a complete lie. You have plenty of time. You don't even have a job. And Twilight isn't stupid either. Maybe you should just tell her about Velvet...
What the fuck are you thinking? No. Don't do that. You need to talk with Velvet before even thinking about telling Twilight anything.
VRRRRR
"Okay, Anon...I understand. If not, we can always do it some other time."
"Right."
"Well, I'm off to bed."
"Yeah, same here."
"Night."
"Night."
You put your phone down onto your nightstand after taking a deep breath.
You'll have to tell Twilight eventually, but now is not the time.
Sitting up in your bed, you go up to your computer and sit down at your office chair. Tapping the power button on your computer tower, you hear the familiar "beep" as it boots up. You sit and stare up as you wait for the booting process to complete.
Once you're logged in, you start looking up "Dating older women" shit on Yeeehaw.
A lot of "be yourself" bullshit. You always hated things like that. If most people were themselves around other people, this world would be a much scarier place.
There's a lot more stuff on being mature and caring. Being an asset rather than a liability. Your thoughts of getting a job fall back into place.
Well shit. You can't PROVIDE for her...not yet, but you're years away from having a solid job. You're not even in college yet.
You check the clock at the bottom right-hand of your screen.
11:27PM
Its getting sort of late. You face back to your Yeeehaw searching.
You clear the search bar. Feeling a surge of adrenaline, you type in "MILF"
You click the second entry after the results pop up, the first entry being the literal definition of MILF
You're suddenly BARRAGED with video after video of MILFs. Well shit.
Now you're kind of randy.
...You can't stop thinking about Velvet. Especially in this way. You also know that she doesn't want just...just THIS.
She wants something more than getting laid...Right?
There's no doubt in your mind that you want more than just that, but you hadn't really considered that maybe she just wants to fuck you. No...you're being paranoid. She was asking if you were serious.
Your boner and urge to fap die as you start thinking about how you're going to make things with Velvet work. You're really not sure how this is going to go.
Clicking out of your porn tab, you make the conscious decision not to fap...for the time being.
You stand up and walk to your door, pulling it open and heading out into the living room. Walking through the room, you go into the kitchen and get a glass of water.
You get a cup from a cabinet and fill it up with water from the sink. Gulping it down, you breath in as you finish.
"Anon?"
You glance over to the kitchen.
Mom.
"Oh. Hi, mom."
"What are you doing up this late?"
"....Just getting some water..."
"How did it go tonight?" she asks, smiling a little bit.
"What do you mean?"
"With that Twilight girl you mentioned."
Oh yeah. You forgot you mentioned that to her.
"It went fine."
"Does she want to visit here? I'd love to meet your girlfriend."
"Not my girlfriend, Mom."
"Well she likes you, right?"
"I don't feel like talking about it."
You set your glass down in the sink and start walking towards her.
"Well why not?"
"Tired."
"Oh. Right. Sleep well, Anon."
"Thanks. You too."
You walk past her, heading back to your room. You don't like talking to your mother about such things.
Or your father.
Or anyone for that matter.
Its really just your business...and if your mother knew you were mutually involved with a woman Velvet's age...well, she'd have a fit.
You walk back into your room, shutting your door, this time flicking off your lights. The glow of your computer screen illuminates your room.
You walk over to the computer and hit the button next to the moon symbol on the keyboard. The display shutting off, you throw yourself onto your bed.
You wrap the blanket over you.
Sighing, you check your phone one last time before going to bed.
One new message...
From: Velvet
....
OH SHIT
You throw the blanket off of you and sit up in your bed to read the message. You tap the message open.
"Can't sleep."
"Why not?" You tap back to her.
You calm down...its just a text message, Anon...fuck.
"Thinking about what happened tonight."
"What about it?"
"Did...I come off as desperate?"
"What are you talking about?"
"I just ran after you. It was a spur of the moment type of thing. I don't really know why I did it."
You furrow your brow at this...
"Well, maybe you just really needed somebody."
"Maybe. I've been with greasy old guys for awhile now."
"Yuck. Go on speed dates?"
"I'm not THAT desperate, Anon."
You think that she's desperate enough to chase after her daughter's friends... Yeesh, that was harsh. Okay, definitely don't text her that.
She texts again before you can respond.
"Theres just something about you I really like. I can't quite put my finger on it."
"Whatever it is, I'm glad I have it."
"Me too."
You don't text back immediately. You set your phone down and yawn. Its past midnight now.
VRRRRR
You put your phone back up to your face.
"I know we got cut off by Twilight, so when can I see you again?"
"I don't know. Whens the most convenient time?"
"Well...on Fridays Twilight always spends the night over at her friend's place. She's in a band if you didn't know."
"Oh, I know. What about Shining?"
"He's always out on Fridays. I worry about that boy."
"Yeah, most of the football jocks party a little too hard."
"His grades are great...can't really stop him."
"Maybe I should talk to him." you tap with a grin on your face.
"HAHA, Anon, don't even TRY."
"Why not?!"
"You're not their step dad...I don't want anything like that happening..."
Well...tha'd be awkward. You think about how this could never be your stereotypical view of a "step" relationship.
You try to imagine knocking on Shining's door and telling him to go to bed. The thought just makes you snicker a little bit.
"Getting back on topic, I'd love to see you again on Friday."
"What should we do?"
This question stumps you. No job. This means no money. This means you can't really go on what you would imagine a date is.
Sighing, you try to think of something.
Anything.
SUDDENLY
A mischievous grin forms across your face. You sit up in your bed and tap out, "Lets have sex."
Send.
......
..........
...............
VRRRRRRR
Open.
"What?!"
"Yeah. Lets have sex."
"Anon, have you even had sex?"
"Well....No..."
You're not going to lie to her.
"I thought you were serious about this."
"I am! It was a joke!"
"SURE it was. I'd be doing all the work anyways."
"HEY, I would know what I'm doing."
"Please...I'd basically be your teacher at that point."
ZING
Fuck.
Just like Cheerilee would have. Okay, this is bringing up bad memories. Lets abort this. Don't want her to get the wrong idea.
Whats something free to do for a date...
HIKING.
Well...what if she doesn't like the outdoors? Who the fuck doesn't?
"Would you like to go hiking?"
"In public...?"
What? Are you not good enough to bring out in public?
"I mean, what if someone recognizes us?"
Oh. Well that makes more sense. This is all you can really come up with...gotta try it.
"Who cares."
"I do!"
"Why?"
"What if Twilight finds out?"
"Then we just tell her. We don't have to hide this. I certainly don't want to."
"We're hiding it from Twilight now."
"We're just giving it some time before we tell anyone...Thats not hiding it."
"Well...Then I'm up for it, in that case. I'll look for a park we can go to."
"I'll pick it out. Don't worry about it."
"You sure?"
"Yep. No problem."
You can't drive her around and spend money on her. Might as well look up the place to go together.
"Alright...Well let me know what you find, Anon."
"I will. I gotta get some sleep."
"Yeah, I'm starting to get tired too."
"Night, Velvet."
"Night, Anon."
You lock your phone and place it onto the nightstand.
Fucking hell.
This is the worst part about dating an older woman...feeling like a liability.
You can't really support her in any way. You have no form of income or transportation; two things that you kind of need in a relationship. A modern-day relationship, anyway.
You roll onto your gut and lay on your arms, staring at the wall in front of you.
...What if she realizes that she doesn't want to date someone as young as you?
Your Mom's advice echoes in your head. "STICK TO GIRLS YOUR AGE!"
You groan. You just like older woman so much better.
Why is it a social taboo to date older women?
You close your eyes, unable to get Velvet out of your head. She's your last thought as you fall asleep, your consciousness slowing slipping away.
