Of Snowflakes, Butterflies and Rainbows...

Snow Flurry is a pure white pegasus with a green mane and tail. She would always put her mane up in a headband she was given by her father, who went missing at her 4th birthday party. Strangely enough, so did her mother.

"Sigh... Why does this time always have to be depressing..." She muttered to herself.

She looked over her hometown of Seaddle. It always had overcast clouds because there was hardly any pegasi that lived here, and all the pegasi who did were too lazy or too young to clear it themselves. Some-days, when Celestia would allow it, The sky would be clear for the day and night, allowing perfect view of her mighty and beautiful sun and Luna's amazing moon at night. Then the next day it would be overcast. Snow Flurry would do it herself as well, but at birth she was diagnosed with Twitchy Wing Syndrome, A rare case where in the middle of flight a pegasi's wings will just freeze up and fold back down to the pony's sides.

"If only..." She said while flapping her useless wings.

They were fully grown but since her condition won't allow her to fly... She's never learned how.

"Ah Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy! Come to visit Snow?" The nurse said from outside the hall.

That's right... She lived in the sick bay where all sick ponies that were like her would come to recover, but since she's never been cured, she's never gotten out. She's even too old to be called a filly anymore. She was nearly an adult mare at this rate. But still, In the hostpital, she's still young enough to be counted as a filly. She had about 3 more years until she could get out and move into a real home. She thought anyways. There was a knock on the door as the nurse opened it.

"Snow? Rainbow Dash has come by with presents...So has Fluttershy." She said, allowing the familiar cyan and yellow pegasi to come in.

"Happy Hearth's Warming Eve Snow!" Rainbow declared out proudly, Flying a foot into the air.

"Oh, Happy Hearth's Warming Eve as well..." Fluttershy meekly spoke out.

"Oh hey... guys..." She replied sadly.

Ever since the Princess of Friendship told her that they would be coming over to keep her company, they've been like sister's Snow had never had. Rainbow pulled out a box from behind her wings and held it out to snow.

"For me?!" Snow squealed in glee.

She tore open the box and inside was pink scarf and on the end was her cutie mark, Three small silver snowflakes. She hugged it and smiled.

"I had Rarity help with stitching your cutie mark, but I knitted the whole thing by hoof." Fluttershy said with a warm smile.

"I helped wrap it." Rainbow simply added.

"But, That's not my present, That was Flutters." Rainbow said, wrapping the scarf around Snow's neck.

"What is it?!" Snow said, excited.

Rainbow chuckled and said "You'll see, We'll need to take a train ride first..."

Snow watched as Rainbow used her bits she's earned to buy three tickets to a town called Ponyville. She's never been anywhere besides Seaddle, so she had no clue where ponyville was.

"Fluttershy? Where is ponyville?" Snow asked softly.

"Oh Ponyville is just on the other side of Mt. Canterlot." Fluttershy pointed to a huge mountain with a small palace on the side.

"Wow!" Gasped Snow.

"Alrighty slowpokes! Let's get this trip on the road!" Rainbow Dash yelled enthusiastically.

Snow laughed and ran on to the train. Fluttershy walked in with Rainbow and smiled to her. Rainbow smiled back and the took their seats. After all the passengers boarded, the train slowly began moving. On the way their the trio were treated to a lovely snowfall from the pegasi who were working to cover the land by the train in snow.

"Wow!" Snow gasped again.

"So, You've never seen a ponyville snowfall have you, squirt?" Rainbow said, tousling Snow's mane a bit.

It was then she realized she didn't put her headband in.

"Rainbow~!" She wined as she tried to stop the cyan hoof from doing any further damage to her mane.

"I'm only messin' with ya kid!" Rainbow said, Laughing.

Fluttershy giggled a bit and tried to help Snow straighten her mane.

"Is Pinkie going to be there?" Snow asked, recalling her birthday last year.

"Yeah! She helps organize the Hearth's Warming Eve party every year!" Rainbow said, excited.

Snow cheered, while she didn't act like a grown mare, She still had the heart of a filly. The three mares shared a laugh and watched at the white flakes came down at speeds that amazed Snow.

Snow awoke to a start as she heard the conductor annoucing that they were arriving at Ponyville station.

"Snow, Time to get off." Fluttershy said to Snow.

Snow yawned and got to her hooves. She said goodbye to the conductor as she hopped of the train.

"HIYA! you must be Snow Flurry! Rainbow and Fluttershy told me so much about you! Welcome to ponyville! -GASP- I need to make the Hearth's Warming Eve party a Welcome to Ponyville Snow and a Hearth's Warming Eve party! Oh wait, Didn't I plan your birthday last year? Oh well!" A pink mare said as she ran away as quick as she came.

Snow smiled a bit as she realized who that was. She watched as three more mares and a purple and green dragon walked up.

"Snow, This is Rarity, Applejack, Twilight and Spike." Fluttershy said.

Snow waved a hoof shyly. The mares said hello and rarity stepped up to Snow.

"Why, I see you're wearing that Scarf I helped make for you! Is it comfy?" Rarity asked.

Snow nodded. Rarity smiled and walked back over to the group.

"Well now, It ain't kind not t' show our new guest 'round Ponyville, ain't it not?" The orange mare who Fluttershy called Applejack said.

The other mares agreed and proceeded to show Snow around.
