\DISENGAGING_CRYO_PODS\

\ENGAGING_DEFENSIVE_MEASURES\

As the turrets engaged the unknown threat with extreme prejudice, the cryopods began to deactivate to let the civil and military personnel out of their five hundred million year sleep. Unbeknownst to the still sleeping humans, the cryopods and turrets alike were starting to fall due to the sheer amount of hostiles flooding the steel and lead tunnels. For with every killed enemy, five would take its place.

As Zack stepped out of the steel cryopod, still freezing from the extreme temperatures required to cryo freeze a person. “I will never enjoy that...now what’s the alarm system going on about?” He said he himself as he dressed himself in his casual wear, a red T-shirt and a pair of blue jeans, instead of the blue and white jumpsuit that everyone wore to keep themselves alive as the suit provided proteins and water to sustain him. “Time to go see what the security system is blathering about” Zack said as he walked down the hall to the armory where his MAR-56 Assault Rifle was located. As the sterile lights flickered on and off while he walked down the erie hallway. As Zack approached the armory he noticed that there was a deep crimson liquid splattered on the wall. “Blood…” Zack muttered, he turned away from the armory and turned towards the blood splatters that dotted the wall. Upon closer inspection Zack noticed that the blood had a pattern. “Wait a minute...are those....words?” he said while back away slowly.

“Hi little buddy, wanna play?” A deep and erie voice echoed behind him. Zack turned around only to see a six feet tall lion and eagle mutation standing there.

“Gryphons….” Zack muttered under his breath. So Zack did the only sensible thing to do in that situation, throw a punch at it! The punch hit the gryphon in the beak, all you could hear was a CRACK as the beak snapped off.

“AGH, YOU HAIRLESS FREAK!” The gryphon roared as he stumbled back from the punch, only to have him get back up a few seconds later. “I’LL KILL YOU! AND WHEN I’M DONE YOU’LL BE NOTHING BUT A PILE OF FLESH!” He yelled before sprinting at the human. But Zack was fast enough to dodge the crazy bird lion, and the only thing the gryphon hit was the steel and lead wall, HARD. Zack knew that this fight would end in defeat for him if he didn’t do something, soon. He realized that they were fighting next to an armory! So Zack started running towards the armory’s door, only to be blocked by a gryphon, not the one he just fought, as this one has a beak and the one he was fighting didn’t.

“So you brought your cronie along for the ride huh?” Zack said while dodging it’s punches. Zack retaliated with a kick to the jaw, dislocating it and making the gryphon stumble into the wall, holding its jaw. And so with both of the gryphons downed Zack walked to the armory’s door and punched in the keycode as he didn’t have his keycard on him at the moment. The door opened with a hiss as the pistons broke off the rust that had been there for the last five hundred million years. “I’m surprised that they didn’t break entirely!” While Zack walked into the armory the griffons started to compose themselves as Zack looked for his weapon. “There you are my beauty!” Zack said aloud as he picked up his MAR-56 Assault Rifle. He loaded a magazine from the mag storage next to every gun type.

“CAAAAAAAWW!!” Zack heard from behind, quickly turning around to face the sound. He saw the gryphon with the broken beak holding an iron-tipped spear while running at Zack. He pulled up his MAR and fired at the gryphon. Time seemed to slow down as the hail of bullets flew at the gryphon.

10 Meters…

7 Meters…

3 Meters…

1 Meter…

CRUNCH!

Zack couldn’t help but wince as the bullets flew right into his skull, tearing it apart and going out the back of the gryphon’s skull, and then passing through the second gryphon’s wings before slamming into the wall.

“That….is what you get….when you….mess with me.” Zack said right before stomping the second gryphon’s ribcage -and tearing the heart apart in the process- into the ground before passing out due to exhaustion.

3 Hours later

Zack awoke to a wooden room with hay on the ground and iron bars. Upon looking around more he saw animals, ponies…technicolor ponies, chained up to the ground with iron chain links. After a few minutes his hearing came back, but he didn’t expect to hear anything but neighs, he was disappointed. He heard crying and talking, mostly  things like, “Where are they taking us?” and, “Why me?” other than that is was the gentle hum of engines. “Bloody slavers…” Zack mumbled to himself.

POV: LT. FIREWING

LOCATION: G.K.A. SERVITUDE

AREA: BRIDGE

TIME: 12:24 AM

Lt. Firewing walked up the stairs and through door leading to the bridge. Firewing had been called to the bridge by the admiral over the comms. “Welcome lieutenant, I just wanted to ask you something.” The admiral asked while stroking his goatee

        “Yes sir, what is it?”

“Why are you trying to incite a rebellion?”

Firewing froze, “He couldn’t have found me out so fast! There’s just no way!”

“W-what do you mean admiral?” He said.

“I mean, these lieutenant,” The admiral opened a drawer and pulled out a file. Firewing nearly died at the sight of it, “My assassinations….h-how did he get those!”

Firewing composed and himself said, “Yeah, and you're next! and with that he pulled out his flintlock and fired a round at the admirals head, only to have it miss and crack the window behind him. “Ah ponyfeathers….” Firewing said before being shot at by the admiral, luckily the shot hit his wing and not an organ or his head. All of a sudden he felt a scorching pain on the back of his head.
