It was official; Twilight Sparkle was pregnant. The whole thing had pretty much been a blur and nothing hurt when the unicorn nurse pulled the foal out. Yes, it was a bit...bloody...but once the newborn was all cleaned, the nurse was happy to announce that the foal was a unicorn.
Rainbow Dash's happy expression turned confused, "Uh...Doc? I think you made a mistake. Our baby is a--"
Twilight covered her mouth with her hoof, "Yep! A unicorn, that's what our baby is, heh," she chuckled nervously, "That's all she is, right Rainbow?"
Rainbow Dash growled as she tried to get Twilight's hoof off of her mouth, but failed.
The nurse, satisfied, left the room. That's when Twilight removed her hoof from Dash's mouth and glared at her, "Be careful, Dash!"
"What? She said our baby is a unicorn when she's clearly a pegasus!"
"Don't you see?!" Twilight shouted before bringing her voice down to nearly a whisper, "She's both." The alicorn levitated the light purple foal. She had Rainbow Dash's style of mane, but Twilight's mane colors. And she, indeed, was both a unicorn and pegasus.
Rainbow Dash stared in shock and gasped, "Our baby is an al--"
"Shhh!!" Twilight growled, "Be quiet!"
"But why? This is awesome!"
"No it is not! Do you know how much trouble we could get in with a fifth alicorn princess?!"
"No, but who cares? She's adorable! Look at those eyes!" Rainbow pointed to the foal's bright, purple eyes.
Twilight sighed, "Look, cover up her wings, we're taking her home!" Twilight said.
Rainbow was shocked. Why was Twilight so worked up over this? This was the best thing to happen to them! Not only did they have a new baby, but their baby was an alicorn! An alicorn for Celestia's sake! It didn't make sense, she had to admit. Alicorns weren't just born, they were created. But it was still freaking awesome. The two ponies flew home to Twilight's library and began discussing this situation.
