With the Old Mares

My name is Fluttershy, I come from Ponyville, Equestria. I enlisted into the Mareines in December of 1942, when shortly after, I was shipped out to training at Camp Elliott. There I was designated to be an infantry mare to the First Mareine Division, or the heroes of Guadalcanal. I was given the choice to chose which weapon I could use, as the mares there thought a pony would be more effective with a weapon they wanted, rather than assigned. I was given the choice of 60mm mortars, machine gunners, 37mm AT gun, or the Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR). I went into the 60mm mortars, like my friend Daisy, who served on Guadalcanal and Cape Gloucester. On February 28th, 1944, I was sent in as part of the 46th Replacement Battalion and sent to the island of Pavuvu, where I was assigned into the 3rd Battalion, 5th Mareine Regiment, King Company (K). From there, I went to the island of Peleliu in 1944 and to Okinawa in 1945. These are my memoirs of my times with some of the bravest ponies I have ever met with in my life. I've made countless friends, and yet lost countless others. This isn't meant to glorify war, this is a story about the Mareines who fought on these small islands, and those who lost their lives...
