Pinkie Pie was hoofcuffed to a cold steel chair. It was so cold and uncomfortable. They wouldn't let her have comfort while she was being judged for a crime she didn't commit. She could feel the fear of the unknown slithering up her body like a snake. She was terrified beyond belief. Pinkie tried to think optimistically, but depression was filling her heart. A deflation noise was the only sound to be heard in the room. Pinkie Pie was so devastated, that all the life and happiness that used to be in her, deflated with her mane. She waited, and waited far what seemed like a century for the princesses and everyone else to enter the room. Everypony hated her. Nopony loved her. They thought she was a murderer. She questioned if anything was worth it anymore, her life was ruined so it didn't matter. Nothing mattered. After the room was full, the princesses took their seats in the chairs overlooking the whole courtroom. Princess Celestia had a look of sorrow plastered on her face while Princess Luna was unreadable. The princesses turned to each other and started to argue what would happen to Pinkie. They glanced at her a few times and each made her more and more fearful.
"Pinkamena Diane Pie, we have decided your punishment. You are hereby sentenced to life in prison for the murders of Cup Cake and Carrot Cake. Do you have any objections to this punishment?" The voice of Princess Celestia boomed across the courtroom silencing all the mumbles and whispers. Pinkie shook her head sadly. The princesses didn't even believe her. Pinkie Pie had never felt so unhappy in her life. She would have burst into tears if her friends eyes were locked with hers. All but one of their faces were filled with such hatred and pain. Twilight looked like she would incinerate her with a blast of magic. Rainbow Dash was being held back by Applejack, both who wanted to buck their former friend in the head. Rarity looked disgusted whenever Pinkie looked at her. Fluttershy, who was the most heartbreaking to look at, was sobbing hysterically while Angel was trying to calm her down. Pinkie felt like a monster, even though she knew she had never hurt anypony ever in her life. She just wanted it over with, to be executed or something, anything other then being hated by her most bestest friends in the world while living in prison. The Solar Guards briskly walked over to her and untangled the hoofcuffs from the chair. They put the other cuff on to her foreleg tightly with stone cold faces on. The pink earth pony proceeded to walk with the Solar Guards prodded her out the door. There was booing coming from all directions and many of the Canterlot ponies were yelling things that caused great distress to Pinkie.
"Execute that repulsive creature!"
"Hang that wretched girl!"
Also the occasional laugh. Sadly she kind of wanted to be hung or executed. Devastation overtook her and she frantically looked for somepony who would believe her. No sympathy glances, no apologetic words, no nothing. After what seemed like hours, they finally got out of the courtroom. Passing by ponies didn't treat her any differently from the others in the courtroom. After walking down the hallway to the dungeon Pinkie finally broke down. She sobbed, screamed, bucked, and pleaded. The guards held no sympathy whatsoever. Pinkie tried as hard as she could to get out of the guards grasp. Every attempt she made, failed. The guards finally knocked her in the back of her head, thus knocking her out.
Pinkie Pie woke up with a throbbing sensation in the back of her head. Maybe I shouldn't have tried to run away, or maybe not. Tears dripped down the sides of her face. She never wanted this. She never wanted all the hurt. The mare pondered everything that happened to her and she decided it would be best to pay attention to something else.The cell was cold and dank, exactly how you would think of a dungeon. There was a constant drip drop as water dripped from the ceiling. The floor was stone and cold, it also had a few traces of blood splattered across it. The blood was a little more then unsettling. It disturbed her. What if the guards hurt her like the pony before her might have? The place looked like it hadn't been cared for or cleaned in ages. Rarity sure wouldn't like this place. Rarity. She shook her head trying to get the memory of her friend's disgusted look out of her head. It all hurt too much. Why did this all have to happen? Why did all of this have to happen to me? She thought about it for a few minutes before giving up. Nopony could change fate, and she wasn't going to try.
"Oh don't worry Pinkie, they will find out you haven't hurt anypony. They will find out soon.... Not soon enough though." At her attempts to cheer herself up, it didn't work. Even the element of laughter couldn't giggle at the ghosties this time. Her element couldn't help her here. Surprisingly enough there was a pillow and a blanket on the hard steel bed. It was the most comforting thing that she had at the moment so she decided it couldn't hurt. The bed was cold and uncomfortable, but a bed was a bed. Sleep avoided her like all the ponies in her life did now. A rat was scurrying across the floor, it didn't make the cell anymore comfortable. There were also spider webs nestled in the corners of the rooms.
"Whats your name?" A small filly was looking from the cell across from hers. Pinkie Pie would never miss a chance to make a new friend so she decided to talk to the girl.
"Hello my name is Pinkie Pie! Whats yours?"
The filly was surprised at the sudden outburst of energy from the mare that was sulking about ten minutes ago. "My name is Silver Shine, but you can call me Silver! But... Why are you here?" A look of confusion crossed Silver Shine's face.
Not wanting to scare the little filly Pinkie said the most innocent version of why she was there. "They thought I hurt somepony really bad and now I have to stay here.".
Silver looked severely offended, "Do you think I'm a filly! Do not ever treat me like a little filly!". Pinkie was totally caught off guard by the filly's anger.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean t-" Pinkie was cut off by the angered filly.
"Leave me alone you pink freak.". Why did that filly get so mad when I didn't want to scare her? Silver Shine should probably be left alone for now. A sudden wave of tiredness hit her, she needed to go to bed. The bed was much more inviting then last time, and the bed wasn't as cold. Unlike the first attempt, she fell asleep very quickly.
Pinkie Pie awoke from the sound of a dish sliding on stone. The sound was scratchy and jagged and it made her cringe.
"Time to eat Miss Pie. Princess Celestia requested that you have a higher class meal then the other prisoners, only because you are an Element of Harmony." The guard didn't seem as angry as the others when they were around her. Pinkie gave a small smile to the golden clad guard and took the dish of food. It wasn't the best food she had ever tasted, but it was something. Oatmeal, hay bacon, and an orange. She didn't like oranges very much. Silver Shine was looking at her, Silver's dish was much smaller and empty. She must have eaten it already. Pinkie rolled the orange across the floor and between the bars to the filly. There were bags under her sleek silver fur. She nodded and smiled in acknowledgement. She was a cute little filly to be certain, her mane was a very dark silver while her coat was almost white it was such a light gray, and her eyes were yellow. Silver's feathers were a little big for her age and she seemed very skinny, her ribs were showing. She wondered what could have happened to such a small filly that got her put into prison. It was worth a shot.
"Silver Shine?" She looked up at pinkie from her place on the floor
"Yes?". Pinkie Pie saw the opportunity and took it,
"I'm super duper sorry to ask, but why are you here?".
Silver Shine didn't look mad or surprised at all, but she looked kind of sad. "Well it all started with my father.".
Silver Shine was climbing the trees that surrounded her house. The trees were perfect for her because she couldn't fly yet. Her mother called her inside the house, it was her 8th birthday today. Silver ran as fast as her small legs could take her, but it seemed like forever to get to the small house. As she walked inside she could smell the sweet scent of birthday cake. Butterscotch cake, her favorite. Something seemed off in the room though. Snowy Night, her mother seemed different, less happy then she should have been for her daughters birthday.
"Hi mommy!" Silver Shine called out. Snowy replied with a small but warming smile. "Where's daddy?" Snowy Night flinched at the mention of her father, it seemed as if she was scared of daddy. Silver's seven year old brain soon forgot the odd behavior as her dad entered the room with a happy smile. We sat down at the table while my mom brought the cake to the table. Her parents sang me the traditional Happy Birthday song as she placed the cake in front of her. Silver Shine blew out the candles and made a wish, to be happy with my mom and dad forever. Unfortunately fate had a different thought in mind. That night it was thundering outside. Thunder terrified the poor filly, little Silver Shine had just awoken from a terrible nightmare. The filly wrapped herself up in her sheets and putting a pillow over her head to protect herself from the noise. Nothing seemed to make the thunder and lightning go away no matter how hard she tried. In her little filly mind the best option was to go to her parents room where it was safe and warm. Silver trotted through the doorway and out into the hall, hoping the boogiepony wouldn't see her and take her away. The tired filly was about to open the door to her parents room when she heard yelling.
"You were so foalish for wanting a little filly Snowy!" Her fathers voice was strong and menacing, but it didn't keep her from listening in on them.
"What is wrong with you Mapleleaf! You have always wanted a filly! What changes that now?" It shocked Silver Shine why they were fighting over fillies and colts, they already have one.
"I did until we ended up having a spoiled brat!" Her fathers words hit her like a brick to the head. Her father thinks she is a spoiled brat? Despite the tears welling up in her eyes she continued to listen. Silver Shine next heard something that would change her life forever from now and on. SMACK! She looked through the crack in the door and Snowy had just slapped Mapleleaf. He looked surprised at first and then angry. Mapleleaf stormed over to the bed and pulled something out from under it. BOOM! It happened so fast Silver didn't have time to comprehend what had just happened. Her father just killed her mother. Silver Shine was seething with anger.
"Why did you do it dad." She angrily whispered. The filly stormed down the stairs, out the door, and into the shed. Silver grabbed a gallon of gasoline and pulled it inside with her. Kill him. Were the only words going through her head at the moment. Gasoline was poured all over the house and around it. Now that jerk wouldn't be able to escape. The next thing she knew she was standing outside of her burning home. Screaming was coming from the inside of her house and she smiled.
"That old man got what he deserved." Silver Shine smiled evilly. Her birthday wish had not come true. Wishes are fake and so is happiness. Those dark words kept repeating themselves in her head.
Pinkie Pie's jaw dropped when Silver Shine finished the story.
"The guards came and found me after they saw the wreckage. They squeezed all the information out of me, and now I'm here." Silver Shine walked over to her metallic bed and sat down on it. Pinkie's mind was racing with so many questions, but she didn't want them to be answered. Pinkie dropped to the floor. The world was too cruel to ponies like us. Never nice. Never giving. Never stopping.
Pinkie Pie was on her cold bed looking at the wall. She still wondered why nopony believed her still. The memories of Silver Shine telling the story of what happened to her were still fresh in her mind. But still, it hurt her to see Silver all alone in her cell with no family. At least she had a new friend to keep her company most of the time. Pinkie trotted over to the bars to talk to her friend. Silver was awake. Good. Silver Shine gave Pinkie a smug grin as a trio of guards walked up to Pinkie's cell. Fear struck Pinkie once again.
"Miss Pie. The princesses have requested an audience alone with you." Pinkie knew better then to question why, for all of the questions she has asked so far have led to some pretty bad nightmares. Pinkie turned once again to look at Silver Shine, what she saw was not pleasant. Silver's mouth was stretched in an odd ear to ear grin. Pinkie never questioned this before, but she finally saw her cutie mark. A knife. A shiny knife. Pinkie froze where she stood and Silver Shine started to laugh.
"Oh fun fun fun! Come inside Pinnnkieee! Come inside my special room! It would be soooooo much fun if you came in!" Her crazed laughter made Pinkie cringe. More unanswered questions roamed in her head. Did she enjoy killing her father? Why was her cutie mark a knife? Has she killed any other ponies? The more questions that piled up in her head, the more disturbed she became. It was just shocking to see an eight year old filly murder and laugh about it. All the thoughts that were running through her head finally came to an end when she felt hoofcuffs being secured on her forelegs. She squealed a bit, but soon realized they wouldn't hurt the pink party girl.
"Now if you would start to walk that would help Miss Pie." Pinkie had been, one more looking at the crazed filly. She had been so caught up at looking at Silver, she didn't notice the irritated guard trying to nudge her along. The best option at that moment was to walk, so she walked. She walked out of the cell. She walked out of the dungeons. She walked straight to the study of Princess Celestia. There was a warmth emanating from the study, it felt pure and loving. From all the comfort coming from the room, one would assume that the princess was in there. Knock knock knock. The older of the two guards knocked on the door.
"Come in Pinkie Pie." A warm voice belonging to Celestia said. Pinkie Pie opened the door and saw both of the princesses, Princess Celestia, and Princess Luna. Both of whom had sad smiled plastered on their faces.
"Welcome Pinkie Pie." Princess Luna's voice was calm and serene. Princess Luna gestured to a finely padded chair sitting in front of the desk the princesses were seated in. Pinkie had a questioning look on her face. She wondered why the two royal sisters were smiling if they though Pinkie as a monster.
"We apologize deeply for the fear we have put into you Pinkie Pie. There was no other way we could have protected you." Princess Luna's wings closed over Pinkie Pie's body. They were sleek and shiny, but surprisingly warm. She wished she could stay in Luna's embrace forever, but there were other problems she had to attend to.
"Princess Luna, Princess Celestia. You were protecting me. I thought you though that I was a meanie weenie Pinkie Pie." Pinkie looked down at the floor breaking from the lunar princesses embrace.
"I apologize Pinkie Pie, it had to be done. Otherwise she would have killed you along with the Cakes. The filly is very dangerous." Pinkie was completely shocked at the solar princesses words.
"A filly wanted to kill me? Why? Why! How could a little filly attack and kill two adult ponies!" Tears of anger were now streaming down the pink mare's face. "Who would even want to kill the us? The cakes were like family to me!" Pinkie Pie didn't care if the princesses saw her cry, Pinkie just couldn't believe that the ponies who helped her and gave her a job in her time of need. The Cake's were like family to her, but now they are dead.
"Silver Shine is a very dist-" Princess Luna was cut off by the very dumbfounded mare.
"WHAT? Silver Shine! The Silver Sine as in the filly who had a cell right across from mine, killed the Cake's? I can't believe that little fill-" Pinkie Pie was yelling now in anger more then question, for she knew now that Silver Shine had killed the people she called her second family.
"Let me explain Pinkie Pie, Silver Shine is a very disturbed filly. She killed her father without remorse. She soon grew a liking to the art or death. She continued to murder five more ponies. The Cake's were not her latest kill victims, but the bodies that were found the latest." Princess Celestia talked about the filly like some sort of demonic creature. It was obvious that she did not take a liking to the filly.
"I think it would be fair to tell her the truth about this, Silver Shine." Luna didn't show as much hatred at the filly like her sister, but Luna was always the better of the two about masking emotions.
"Yes, I agree with you Luna. It began right after she killed her parents."
