Mr. and Mrs. Cake had given Pinkie Pie the day off from Sugarcube Corner, due to Pinkie working extra hard that week.
Pinkie Pie decided to spend her day...you guessed it. Partying.
She had asked Applejack if they could have the party in her barn, and if she could bring some delicious apple cider. Pinkie usually went all out on making her signature parties, but after Pinkie Pie threw a party inviting everypony in Ponyville, she decided to just invite Applejack, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Twilight Sparkle, and Rarity. Thankfully, they all could make it.
The party was held in Applejack's basement. There wasn't much décor other than the large round table that was put in the middle of the room surrounded by six stools, with six empty wine glasses on top. The room was dimly lit by one single light bulb hanging over the table. The room was pretty much empty other than a few crates of apples here and there.
Pinkie Pie arrived in Applejack's basement before even AJ herself could enter, which startled her a little at first. Applejack had all the party guests following close behind. Pinkie Pie was grinning madly.
"Hi, Pinkie Pie!" Twilight exclaimed.
"Hey, Pinks." Rainbow Dash added.
Rainbow Dash sat next to Pinkie at the round table. The others followed, except Applejack who went to the other side of the room, grabbing a heavy crate.
"I made some hard cider. Who wants a glass?" asked Applejack.
"Me!!" Pinkie Pie instantly announced, waving her empty glass in the air excitedly. The others just simply nodded their heads. Applejack poured cider into all their glasses before she came to Pinkie Pie, who violently shook her head, no. Pinkie had something else in mind.
"Applejack, can I pretty please have the whole bottle?" Pinkie asked gratefully, staring at the bottle lovingly. Applejack wasn't sure.
"Uh, Pinkie Pie? Ah don't think y'all should have too much. Remember last time when you were begging spike to have..um..you know, bed stuff with him?"
Applejack cringed upon saying that last part.
"Bed stuff? Like a sleepover?" Pinkie asked, tilting her head to the side, obviously not understanding what Applejack meant. Applejack face-hoofed. Suddenly, Pinkie's eyes widened in realization. "Oh! No-no-no that won't happen again! Pinkie promise! Spike isn't even here. Plus he refused anyway. What could go wrong?"
Pinkie said, giving Applejack the puppy dog face. Applejack sighed in defeat.
"Fahne. Y'all win."
She said, handing Pinkie the whole bottle. Pinkie grabbed the bottle and quickly gulped it down all at once.
"More!" She requested. The others just sat there in horror. After a good ten seconds, Pinkie Pie decided to just get it herself. She ran over to the crate and quickly grabbed four bottles.
"Pinkie, no!" Twilight shouted, but it was too late. Pinkie was just too fast. Before anypony knew it, Pinkie had already gulped down all four bottles.
"Wooo, you guys look funny!" Pinkie said, the drink finally taking effect. "You guys all look like sexy rainclouds!"
"Pinkie, please sit down with us."
Rarity pleaded, giving Pinkie some room to sit. Pinkie dramatically rolled her eyes and sat down next to the others, with Rarity on her left and Rainbow Dash on her right. Suddenly, Pinkie slammed her hooves on the table, which made everypony jump a little.
"Another!" Pinkie shouted. Everypony glanced helplessly at Twilight, praying that she would have an answer. Twilight took the hint and quickly started thinking of something that could distract Pinkie without Pinkie hurting anyone, including herself. A light bulb suddenly turned on in Twilight's head.
"So, Pinkie?" Twilight said. Pinkie turned her head to Twilight, who was sitting across from her. "Remember when Cheese Sandwich was here? Did you have a little crush on him?" Twilight asked, hoping that would stop Pinkie from doing something stupid. Pinkie's eyes lit up.
"I sure did!" Pinkie exclaimed. "We were practically dating at that party!" Pinkie said happily, with a drunk blush appearing on her face. "You know...I just realized that I have dated Cheese Sandwich, Fluttershy dated Big Mac, Rarity dated tons of jerks, Twilight dated Flash Sentry and Applejack dated an apple tree."
The others just tried to ignore their random pairings Pinkie had just gave them. "And..." Pinkie continued. "Rainbow Dash has never dated anypony!"
Rainbow Dash, who had been half asleep for almost this entire conversation, finally woke up completely.
"What?!" Rainbow yelled.
"You've never dated anypony before!" Pinkie repeated.
That was actually true. Rainbow had never gone on a date before, nor has she ever had the slightest romantic feelings for anypony. She hardly even knew what "romance" was. She had never been put in that sort of situation, nor did she want to be. "I bet you couldn't go on a date if you tried!' Pinkie went on.
"Sure I could!" Rainbow Dash argued. Pinkie made a mischievous grin.
"How about this: you try to get a coltfriend, and if you don't have one by tomorrow morning, you'll have to have...bed stuff with me." Pinkie challenged. Rainbow stared at Pinkie, disgusted.
"No way! I'd never do a bet like that!"
"-And if you do have a coltfriend by tomorrow morning," Pinkie continued. "I'll give you the very first edition of Daring Do And The Quest For The Sapphire Stone, signed my A.K Yearling herself!"
Rainbow's eyes widened.
"How....how did you get that?! At the traders exchange? What the hay did you trade for it? Why did you trade for it when you knew how desperate I was for it?"
"I don't really remember what I traded for it, but I got it to save it for something like this." Pinkie smirked.
Rainbow Dash was as desperate for the book as she was desperate not to do something like that with her pink party friend.
Well, I mean, Rarity has had tons of coltfriends in her life, and it doesn't seem to take long for her to get them....and lose them. Maybe this won't be too hard.
Rainbow thought. Another thing that was making her hesitate was the fact that Rainbow really cares about her reputation, and avoiding dating was part of it. On the other hoof, Rainbow really wanted that book, and she wanted to prove Pinkie Pie wrong.
"So, what's it going to be?" Pinkie asked impatiently.
"Um....yes.
"Hm?"
"Y-yes! I accept your challenge!"
"Excellent."
