//-------------------------------------------------------// The journey -by EphraimKishonwannabe- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Journey (1) - What happened? //-------------------------------------------------------// Journey (1) - What happened? “Maaaan... what a day... I only want my bed right now...” I was exhausted. It was a rough day at work, a typical monday. To be honest, EVERYTHING went wrong today. And now I was... pissed. My job was a hard one, but pretty good payed. Hell! If not, I wouldn't have done shift-work back then. It also helped me to keep at least a little fit, but not nearly as fit as I was years ago. I am not old by the way, just unlucky... I still had my workwear and my steel-toe-shoes on with some screwdrivers and a stanley knife in my pockets. I even kept the working gloves. I didn't bother me anyway. I would wear the same clothes the next day anyway, so why change them before driving home? To be honest, there was hardly anything that bothered or interested me anymore. To be honest, the two feelings that most occurred to me were anger and the “whatever” attitude. This “state” started years before I started shift-working. I had my reasons why I became who I was back then and now. Of course, I was not voluntary in this state. I had a few hobbies back then. Back then, when I found time, I was boxing and also a bit grappling, swimming or desperately trying to learn a new instrument. Unfortunately, my talent in playing guitar, piano or trombone was more than lacking. And I even lost interest in boxing, much to my trainers chagrin. He always said, I would waste my talent, if I stop it. But I had no choice, everybody has to make a living. He also said that it would be wrong to rely only on my medicine. Well, I had to decide otherwise and regretted it, like so many other thing...  Only a few months later I got my damn illness. Being sick is not funny. Before this, let's call it... “journey”, started, I had many friends and acquaintances in my homeworld. I still miss them very much, especially my very best friend, which I knew since earliest childhood. The only time back then I really felt good was, when my friends were around. But I drift off... I looked at my mobile phone, it was late at night. I opened the door to my apartment, entered and closed it. Afterwards I turned the lights on. It's always pretty bright at the beginning, especially, when you turn on the light after you wandered through the dark night. How annoying. The brightness subsided rather quickly and everything became dark again. “Damn, light's dead! Even more work tomorrow!” I grumbled. I reached in my pocket and took out a small capsule filled with pills. Like I did so often, I opened the cap with my thumb and absently put one of them in my mouth, chewed a few times and swallowed it. “Yuk... it always tastes like dirt...” I shook the capsule. “Not much left, gotta get some soon... how damn annoying...” But there was something else, which was way more annoying. It was damn cold! “Great... must have forgotten to close the windows! If I could, I would kidnap Monday and kill it slowly...” I muttered and walked through the dark room... just to trip over something. I fell face first on the floor and let out a scream of agony! “FUCK! My Nose... FFFUUUUUCKK!!!!” I rolled from side to side, clutching my nose... just to hit my forehead. Well, what did you expect me to do? “FFFFUUUUUUCKK!!! §$§%§//% :-P!!!!!!!” I jumped to my feet, stomped around and cursed the whole world. Just to trip once more. I lay there, face first on the ground, with outstretched limbs, breathing heavily. I noticed how my whole body was starting to become something beyond furious. So... I let my fury out with a burst. I was shouting words and curses through the night and while punching the soil with my right fist and holding my face with my left hand. My feet stomped wildly on the ground, of course. In short: I was fuming! “§%(&§=$%)§ (-Enter furios curses in here-)” After my anger and my pain started to subside slowly I was even more exhausted. I just lay there and, catching my breath and looked at the night sky. The moon was very shiny tonight and I was... bigger (?) than usual. “At least the night sky is beautiful and the soil is soft...” I said, still holding my nose. ….. “Night sky?” I blinked several times. “Soil?” My right hand ran slowly over the ground, getting faster by every moment. “Moon?” I blinked again and my whole body started to shake. 3 2 1 “WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?!?!?!?!” Somewhere in another place: “I came to say good night to you. I am sure, that you will provide a magnificent moon tonight as well.” No answer “Luna?” Still no answer The owner of the angelic voice became nervous. “I'm coming in now.” The silhouette entered the room, only to find another silhouette... passed out. It let out a loud shriek and stormed to the other one named Luna. “Luna, can you hear me? Luna? LUNA? OPEN YOUR EYEYS!!!” the figure shook the one called Luna... no response. “GUARDS! GUARDS!!!! GET ME A DOCTOR, IMMEDIATELY!!!” A few minutes later, the doctor arrived and examined the passed out figure. The first being was extremely nervous and trotted around the doc and his patient. A few moments later, he turned to the extremely worried finder of the unconscious figure. It shouted “WHAT HAPPENED!?” “Well, I've got good news for you. She is unconscious, but fine, no need to worry, princess... Somehow she is drained of her magic. I don't know why or how... the only thing I know is, that she needs some rest now. She will be fine soon.” An eased sigh escaped the princess. “Thank you doctor, you may leave now. I will reward you soon. You may leave me as well, guards, I will take care of things from now on.” The guards saluted and left the room. “No need to reward me, it was an honor, farewell princess.” After everyone left, the princess put the other being into a soft bed and stroked her. “What just happened? Why did you have to use so much magic that you fainted? Our magical powers are supposed to be almost infinite...” There were questions, which demanded an answer! But not now... She noticed a book at the edge of the bed. It looked very old. “It couldn't be THIS book, right?” She looked out of a window. “Well, I think I've got no other choice but to raise the moon myself again.” And so she did. (A/N: well, what do you think?)
