I found this journal outside of the local high school today I'm unaware of who it belongs to, or if the contents are private, but I hope to locate the owner in putting it online. It's very interesting, the contents of this book, but you really have to read it for yourself.
Today is going to be a long day.
I awoke earlier to find myself in a large, excessively lavish room, made primarily of stone. Looking at the environment, there are no windows. I have no idea of my name or anything of who I am, despite a sufficient knowledge of the basic world. The only memory I have is, before this, I had awoken in a small, dark room, looking upon two grandiose winged unicorns, one a bright alabaster and the other a soft, dark blue. Of course, I wasn't surprised; people often had things like this as decoration, usually something to do with culture or mythology. The things that surprised me were, first off, their movement, and second off, their speech. It was the latter that managed to push me to fainting.
After that, here I am, in this room of excess luxury. I find myself with very little to do other than stare at the walls and write in this simple leather journal I found in the drawer. I know it's something to be expected with as little memories as I have, but there's something amiss. A very deep, almost intangible feeling of something simply missing from me. Regardless, it might be the empty stomach I have. Speaking of which, food is here. Perhaps once I'm filled up and have a good bit of sleep behind me I shall be able to think correctly.

I may just retract my earlier statement; today went by fairly quickly by the time I had awoken. It was, judging from my view out of the door when they came in, just on the fringe of noon, the shadows of the six figures trailing almost directly below them. My eyes, having adjusted to the candle-lit interior of the stone room, also recoiled at the harsh light of the sun as it poured into the room. Just as well, I felt a warm blast of heat, signaling that it is likely midsummer as I write this.
The six of these new equines did not surprise me quite so much now, as I had a bit of an experience with two winged unicorns just a while before, so I figure one winged unicorn and five others of varying races would balance out the same. This time I was prepared for the speech as it came out of them, the lavender-coated alicorn (which I'm now told is the term) speaking first, much to the dismay of the pink earth pony. Her tone was formal, and her stature matched it, though I could very much see the suppressed curiosity in her eyes. Just as well, the minds of the others could practically be heard with how fast they were reeling to identify me, as they had apparently never seen a human before. For some reason, nobody had.
Regardless, she told me that she was, as the "Princess of Friendship" required to introduce me to this odd new world. I was not entirely sure just how much I was willing to believe this quite yet, though now it seems like a concrete thing. Regardless, something-I'm not sure what-came over me, as I saw humor in this and burst out laughing. I suppose I was just amused that something as casual as friendship had someone this overly-formal representing it. Of all the equines here, each and every one looking like they belong in some form of childrens' entertainment, they chose the most uptight I have seen thus far.
I was quick to slow my laughs to chuckles, then finally to the heavy-breathed remnants of humor, asking the six for their name and explaining my outburst. I then made sure to keep the names with the appropriate equine, though it was fairly easy, given each of the quirky characters and their bright, pastel coats. Their names were as follows: Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie.
My experiences with them varied, but as their formal demeanor faded they proved to be extremely likeable. Twilight showed me something I had thought of but not expected amongst this species: magic. I was very interested, and it occurs to me now that I had not asked if she might inform me of how I might use it. Rarity was the first of them to demonstrate an innate knowledge of the artistic areas of this world, namely in the formal wear, of which she was wearing quite a lot of at the moment. Applejack and Rainbow had very little to do with me, as they were a bit busy quarreling over, ironically, spending the first bit of time with me. Not sure why they'd get into a competition over something as simple as that, but they did seem similar to each other despite their knack for competition amongs each other. Fluttershy was quiet and reserved, a trait which I respected immensely as I had a bit of a difficult time adjusting to the huge amount of friendliness they were exuding.
Lastly was Pinkie Pie. I would say that she was simply a bit hyperactive, though overall normal at a glance, but after having a conversation-during which she apparently bedazzled this journal-with her, I have come to realize that her personality is a bit more than hyperactive. She literally sneezed confetti in my face, and I mean that in no figurative sense, this is actually what happened to me. I questioned Twilight, as she seemed the intelligent one, but even she lacked any sort of explanation.
In any case, I find myself now faced with a decision. I sit now, alone, writing by candlelight in the final hours of dusk, having had an absolutely wonderful day, but still that deep feeling of emptiness previously mentioned gnaws at me, yet I simply can't pin down what it is. If anything, it's stronger. Thus, I'm led to believe that it may just be being around these ponies that causes it. Therefore, I have two options; remain in good company and return to ponyville with the six, or stay to find out more about this mysterious stone room I supposedly came from. Whenever I get to wherever I'm going, I will describe my ventures in more detail, but today was far too quick and unexpected to go into too much detail. I'm honestly just too stressed.
Perhaps a good night's sleep is all I need.
