5th Day, Month of Hearths
My name is Twilight Sparkle, formerly Lord Protector, assigned to safeguard the Princess’ life. I have been interred here, in Canterlot Prison, for six months. Falsely accused of murdering our Princess Celestia, and abducting her younger sister, Luna.
“Meal-time, Twilight, eat up. It’s from a friend.” the Guard slid the meal tray into my cell, on it a chunk of stale bread. I arose from my bunk to retrieve the bread and found under it, a note and a key.
“Dear Twilight,
you may not know us, but we know you, and we know you’re innocent. Attached to this note is the key to your cell, use it to escape and make your way to the interrogation room. There you will find, locked in a safe, a bundle of explosives. Attach them to the outer door, when they go off, run. Lose yourself in the sewers, there we have stashed some gear to aid in your escape. One of the Guards will leave a knife and pistol outside your cell.

After reading the note, Twilight hastily took the key and used it to unlock her cell door. She crept over to the adjacent wall, wary of the Guards in the other room, and picked up the weapons left out for her. Leaning around the corner she took stock of her situation.
Three Guards. No way I can sneak past all three of them like this. Let’s just watch these fools for a little while. Hopefully one of them will wander off.
Sure enough, the guard facing her wandered off to some unseen part of the prison, the other turning around to urinate. This was her chance. Slowly, she crept up behind the guard, hooves ready. Reaching up she snapped, taking the guard by the guard by the throat, choking him into unconsciousness. Quietly letting the guard down, she crept across the room into a piece of cover opposite the remaining guard.
Deciding that the guard would pose no threat, she continued on her way into the other room.
