With or Without You

Spike’s heart pounded inside his chest.

Thump. Thump. Thump

It’s his graduation day. Finally, after twelve years of long and mind-numbing torture, he’s free. Spike listened closely for his name to be called so he could go ahead and get the living hell out of here. Out of this incredibly strangely named town of Ponyville, out of his parent’s lives. Just finally away from the world in general. He never was an A+ student, or even an honor roll student. He had decent grades until he started going downhill around the ninth grade, when a friend of his offered him a blunt. After that, Spike dropped his interest in school completely.

“Sweetie Belle” Called the Principal

He realized that all he needed to do was pass high school, and he was a free man to do whatever he wanted to do. Of course, he didn’t exactly know what to do after, but he figured that he’d realize it as soon as it comes.

“Spike”

Spike stood from his chair and made his way up to the podium. A round of applause rang out as he took the diploma from the Principal’s hand. A long breath exited spike’s lungs that he hadn’t realized he was holding in, and he felt so much calmer. After shaking the hand of the Principal, Vice Principal, and his favorite teacher, Ms. Cheerilee, he waited until the very last name was called out. He followed the rest of the graduating class outside into the school courtyard to toss the hats.

“Congratulations Seniors!”

A roar erupted from the senior class, as the everyone tossed their hats into the air, and watched them flutter down.

“I’m free”
