Chapters "We're really going to do this?" A muffled voice said.
"Shut up, don't wake him. Is the matress in position Frank?" Another said.
"Yup, throw him in whenever." The third confirmed.
I opened my eyes at the familiar voices. "Huh? Where?" I asked, eyes adjusting to the light.
"He's awake! Now!" Shouted my neighbor Todd.
I suddenly felt weightless and I realized whats happening. The guys from the next door frat house threw me off of the bridge. Everything slowed down as I fell past the small concrete wall, then the open air river hole. I dared to look down at the river below me. At least they were smart enough to put a matress at the bottom for me. I took a deep breath as I splashed down, the impact actrually hurt my back, everything flashed purple then faded black as I fell unconscious again.
I felt a gentle jab to my side.
"Five more minutes mom." I croaked.
There was another jab. "Fluttershy wake up!" A girl shouted at me. From her tone I could tell she was scared and was crying for a while.
"Who?" I asked. I sat up and went to rub my head, but smacked it first. "Ow."
"Oh thank Celestia! I was so scared, I thought you were dead!" Whoever it was ran to me and hugged me.
I sat there for a moment. Am I just really tired or is there a blue pegasus hugging me?
"Never do that to me again! I was worried sick!"
"Never do what again?"
"Who said that?" I asked.
"I did, you know, your friend Rainbow Dash?"
"Whats happening?"
I realized this voice had that echoey thing you hear in movies when someone is thinking. Who is this?
"Who are you?"
I asked first!
"Whats happening?" The voice started crying.
"Fluttershy? Are you all right? You've been staring at me for a while now." The pegasus said to me.
"Huh? Fluttershy? Whos that? More importantly, where am I?"
"Flutters, are you ok? You're in your cottage, just outside Ponyville. Come on, you know this."
I stopped for a moment to piece together what I knew. I'm in an unknown house, theres a pegasus talking to me, she insists my name is Fluttershy, I'm just outside a town called Ponyville. What did I smoke to get this screwed up dream? Wait, I don't smoke. I got it! I'm-
"What is going on?" The voice in my mind cried louder and threw off my train of thought.
"Someone start explaining." I begged the mare in fromt of me and the voice in my head.
"It's ok Fluttershy, you-"
"Quit calling me Fluttershy!"
"But thats your name!"
"No it's not! I'm Derick!"
The pegasus stared at me, frightened. She bolted out the door and flew away, not even bothering to shut the door. I looked at the cartoonish town in the distance as I trotted over. Something felt weird about the way I walked. I'll try to figure that one out later. I took one last look at the strange scenery before turning and shutting the door by bumping it with my butt. I walked into my kitchen and dug around in the pantry for some chips or something. When I found nothing, it dawned on me.
"Hey, stop crying for a minute." I told the voice in my head.
"What's the point? My body is controlled by an alien, and now my friends are scared of me!" The sobbing resumed.
I think I may know what happened.
"What?"
I'm having a nightmare!
Even though the voice had no body, I felt sure it'd be staring daggers at me. "You're having a nightmare? This is real! This is my life and you just barged in and ruined it!"
Calm down, I'll just chill here for a while and then my alarm clock will go off, then I'll wake up and my life will resume like nothing happened.
"What would happen to me?"
You'll vanish, you don't exist, you're just part of my dream.
"I've been living here for as long as I can remember, pretty sure I'd know if this was all just some filly's dream."
You're memory isn't that long, you were just created.
"My memory goes back at least ten years."
Sure, I'll just crash on the couch and wait this out. I walked over to the couch in the middle of the room and hopped up on it. I took a minute to actually look over myself. Short, yellow fur, long pink hair. I stroked my hair as I had nothing better to do.
"Hey, quit messing with my mane! It took me an hour to get it smooth and voluminous like that!"
Relax, I can't do much damage with these. Hooves?
"Yes, hooves, why couldn't you have been an intelligent alien?"
Rude.
"Oh my Celestia! I'm sorry! Its not like me to be mean."
Will you just let the whole 'I exist and have a life' thing go already? I snapped, finally losing my wits. I'm not a horse! So clearly this is a dream!
"Fine, just keep thinking that." I sensed the voice turn around, lie down, and try to go to sleep in my head. She seemed angry. "Good job detective, you can identify negative feelings."
I 'harumphed' out loud before turning onto my side and going to sleep.

I woke up to an alarm clock buzz. I rolled over and hit the snooze button, not wanting to wake up just yet. There was a loud smash, so I opened my eyes and looked down my arm at the clock. Of course, I crushed it under my hoof.
"It's too early for this crap." I muttered to myself and rolled back over. I shut my eyes and nuzzled up into my couch cusions for comfort. I let out a long slow breath before trying to sleep again, thats when I realized something odd. I don't have an alarm clock. My eyes shot open and I rolled over, staring at the mechanical mess. I sat up quickly and looked at my hands. "No way." I said. "This can't be real." I clapped my hooves together and kept staring.
"Huh? Whats happening now?" There was a yawn from inside my head. "Why can't I move? Sweet Celestia help me! I'm dying! " the voice cried.
"This can't be real. It just can't!"
The crying stopped. "Oh, that's right. You again"
Don't be cross with me, I don't like this as much as you.
"Then why did you do it?"
I didn't do anything. At least, I don't think I did. The last thing i remember was being thrown off of a bridge.
"And then some portal opened up and you woke up here."
Yeah, how did you know?
"My friend Twilight has her fair share of interdimensional stories. Its easy for me to detect one."
Wait, so does that mean that, Twilight, can help me go back home?
"Probably."
I hopped off the couch and onto all fours. Then lets go! Where are they?
"She lives in town. It's about a five minute, look out!" There was a sharp pain to the side of my head for a second then everything went black again.
I cracked an eye open and instantly regretted it. I moaned and rolled over at the harsh light. I only rolled over a tiny bit before resistance was met. "Hunh?"
"I think she's awake." Said a familiar female voice.
There was a clip clop as another pony walked by me. I dared a look when the sounds stopped. Naturally, I squinted as my eyes adjusted to the light. I turned my head to the left and looked down my leg. There was a chain binding near the base of my hoof, and at the end of it, was a purple unicorn with an unsettling smile.
Hey umm, disembodied voice, you there?
"No, but Fluttershy is."
Ok, who is this exactly?
"Thats Twilight. My friend."
So she can send me back?
"Probably, but be careful, she's been acting a little psychotic lately."
I pondered the warning. "Umm, hi Twilight." I said casually, holding back an instinctive gulp.
"Subject communicates, uses host's memories possibly, intelligence unknown, intent unknown." She responded, the blue pegasus racing to write everything onto a clipboard.
"Wait what?"
"Intelect probably low."
"Hey, I'm not stupid!" I tried to swat at her with my restrained hoof.
"Mild intelligence, easily angered, hostile while angry." There was a pause where the only sound made was pencil scratching onto a thin sheet of wood.
"So." I didn't know how to ask for her to help me out. "Hows your day going?"
"You want something don't you?" She asked. "Your subtleties are weak."
I stared dumbfounded for a few seconds. "How did you-"
"Well, what do you want?"
"For you to send me home."
The unicorn's horn glowed and she inspected me closer. "It seems harmless."
"Is that a yes?"
Her horn glow died down and she smiled at me again. "Of course."
"Great!" I shouted excitedly. "What do I have to do?"
A book levitated to her from behind my head. "Answer questions."
"Ok, lay them on me!"
"Ahem." Twilight began. "Do you have your own body or do you aleays use a host?"
"My own?"
"Sentient or non sentient?"
"I don't know what that even means."
"I'll assume sentient." Her book began flipping pages and she scanned each one. "Bipedal, quadripedal, polypedal, or other?"
"Bi."
"Tail?"
"No."
"Finally, are you considered an 'intelligent species'?"
"You're talking to me, what do you think?"
"Sassy, note taken. Now is this you?" She showed the pages to me. The two open ones were chimpanzee and orangutan.
"Neither."
"How about this?" The page turned to show gorilla in a double page spread to emphasis size.
"Nope."
"So you must be human or other ape." She shut the book and it floated back out of my sight.
"Now what?"
She walked away and hopped onto a swivel chair then turned and looked at a computer screen. She began mashing buttons, thousands of characters appearing and vanishing on screen every second. Then I noticed she had wings, like me, or the blue pegasus.
"Hello?" I asked after a few seconds of getting impatient.
"I'm sorry, there is nothing I can do for you, nor would I want to help you. You see, humans are extremely rare since, well, better not spoil it. Anyways, it's not every day I get to study a human. Would you consider yourself an average individual?"
"I'd like to say I'm slightly above average."
"Ok, keep calm now." Twilight trotted back over, a bone saw floating next to her.
The pegasus darted between us and stood defensively, blocking her path. "Woah! Twilight, it's in our friend, Fluttershy! All you'd get from this dissection is a first hand experience of pony anatomy and a murder to your name!"
"Aww, I just wanted to spook him a bit, nothing much."
"SPOOK ME A LITTLE?" I shouted. "You're a fucking psychopath!" A shot of adrenaline raced through my blood and I jostled at my restraints. "Get me out of here!"
"Calm down! It's okay! There there." I sensed Fluttershy cuddle my conciousness. "It's ok, she just wanted to pull a little prank."
"Don't tell me to calm down when a fucking lunatic threatens to cut me up!" I screamed. "Just shut up Fluttershy! I, I need." I paused to take a few deep breaths. Sorry I snapped, I was just panicked
"It's understandable."
How can you stay calm so easily?
"When you've seen what I have to deal with on a daily basis, you'd understand."
Wait, is she always like this? I glanced at the unicorn pegasus hybrid being scolded by the blue pony. And what is her name?
"She isn't usually like this, she's just a bit rattled by what happened to her last week."
Ok, but who is she? I nodded at the pegasus.
"That's Rainbow Dash. She's my." There was a brief pause followed by a "friend."
You're hiding something aren't you?
"No! Of course not!"
You are, you are! I'm gonna tell!
"Don't you dare!"
Our conversation was cut off by a jab to my side.
"It stopped." Rainbow Dash said, staring at the computer monitor.
"When did you stop arguing?" I asked, truly surprised that Twilight stabbed me with a sharpened pencil.
"About five minutes ago, shortly after we got odd readings from my computer." said Twilight with that same twisted smile I first saw on her face. "It almost appeared as though you were conversing with somepony. To keep it simple, your auditory and lingual brain functions were flaring in a way only talking to another being would."
"Thats simple? Wait, five minutes? I was talking to Fluttershy for maybe one!"
"Mental conversations, either mentally insane or two conciousnesses in one body. Fluttershy is most likely still in there. But how so we get to her?" A pen tapped her chin a few times.
"Tell her I can still hear you guys, I just can't talk."
"Fluttershy says she can hear you, she just can't talk."
"Interesting." Twilight said before the pen zipped over to the clipboard and wrote something down by itself.
"Twi, the computer showed the strange signals again." Rainbow Dash shouted over from the computer.
The purple pony stared at me. "Then she is in there, and this human is our only bridge."
"What are we going to do?"
"I'm not sure." Twilight inspected me closely. "I guess we could ask Celestia."
"But she's booked, her entire schedule is filled for at least the next month twenty four seven."
"Then we'll have to wait." The cuffs holding me down began rustling and soon opened and fell off.
"Wait, you're just going to let him go?" Rainbow complained. She grabbed a cuff and put it back around my rear leg.
"Of course, I sense no danger. Fluttershy is in his mind, she can be kind of his mentor."
"But, he's a." Rainbow huffed and bowed her head in defeat. "Fine." She released the cuff and walked back over to the computer and spun around on the chair.
"Sorry about her, shes not very trusting." Twilight appologized, removing the last cuff.
I sat up and rubbed my pony equivalent of wrists. "It's okay, not many people where I'm from are trusting people."
"That is so sad." Twilight said, showing genuine care.
We stared at each other for a while, and I thought she'd burst out crying for me.
Rainbow Dash stopped spinning to interupt the silence. "So." She began, "Are we going to sit here and wait or are we going to at least try to get an appointment with Celestia?"
Author's Note
After rereading my story so far, I realize it feels rushed. Future chapters will (hopefully) be slower paced.
"Where are we headed?" I asked Twilight as we stepped out of her tree. I figured its best I not question the psychopath about her choice in real estate.
"We are headed to the train station to ride to Canterlot." She explained.
"Can't you just flash us there?" Rainbow asked.
"Sure, but riding the train is fun, and as you said, she's probably booked, we have time to blow."
I stoppedd walking for a moment to look at the town, the two mares didn't notice and continued talking.
Hey, Fluttershy you there?
"Barely." It sounded as though she just woke up.
You tired?
"I was napping, why?"
Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you.
"No, no, it's fine" She yawned and I felt her try to stretch. "So what did I miss?"
Not much, just small stupid arguments and the fact that we're going to the princess.
"That's all? Wait, what?"
Yeah, and when did you go to sleep? Weren't we talking like five minutes ago?
"I don't know really, but where did you say we were going?"
The princess, why?"
"Oh great, it can't be good if Twilight wants us to go to her."
Relax, she's probably going to hug me and send me away with a gift basket or something.
"Look, you may think this place is all nice and sweet, but Celestia is a total nutjob, she sent her sister to the moon! TO THE MOOOOOON!!"
What? But, look, that pony over there just dropped her groceries and three others gave her money for replacement groceries. I saw Twilight's semi-twisted side, but can it really get worse?
"Well, I guess Luna did kind of turn evil. Anyways, you should probably get going, Twi and Rainbow are almost gone and they haven't realized you aren't with them."
Huh? I looked down the street and saw two pony shaped outlines in the distance. "Hey! Wait for me!" I shouted at them as I ran after them. After a minute or so of running, I caught up to the two ponies, Twilight giggled at their own foolishness.
"We oughta keep a closer eye on him." Rainbow said.
"Relax, he came back to us, he's probably frightened, wouldn't you be? Dumped in a strange world where everything is different, not knowing any thing about the native species or customs. He barely knows us, yet he still preferred to be with us than without, he trusts us, I'm not so worried."
"You're pretty laid back." I interjected. "For being only a few minutes past being a psychopath."
"Psh, being crazy is just a past time." She joked. "Besides, that was like an hour ago."
An hour, I swear it's been ten minutes max.
"Maybe time travels faster when we're talking?"
Maybe. But, if we can manipulate time like that, can we slow time by ignoring each other?
"I dunno, but we better not mess with the space time continuum, Twilight yelled at me last time."
Our conversation on time affectation was cut short when Twilight shoved me.
"C'mon slow poke, we'll miss the train if you keep lolligaggin like that." Twilight said as she corralled me down the street. "Then we'll have to wait another three hours for the next train."
"Oh, sorry." I picked up my walking pace to a faster trot. "Although if we did miss the train I'm sure I could wait."
"The patient kind huh?"
"You could say that." I trotted past Rainbow Dash, who obviously didn't wait for me to catch up. "Hurry up!" I shouted at her, Twilight short behind. She returned my comment with a threatening glare.
"Trust me, we won't have to worry about losing her." Twilight said.
"Why's that?"
"You'll see soon enough."
Seconds later, a pegasus floated by, flying upside down, making it obvious that she wasn't trying. "Who's slow now?" She taunted me.
"Is that a challenge?" I asked.
"Not for me!" She scoffed and went a little faster.
Twilight facehoofed. "Oh Celestia."
I picked up my pace and started running, I quickly passed Rainbow. She rolled over and flapped her wings harder, she was once again in the lead. I matched pace with her then pushed myself a little harder. Rainbow zipped past, clearly determined not to be beat. I caught up to her and kept pace. I felt the wind go through my main and coat. I couldn't keep myself from breathing heavily now. Then I saw it, the train station was on the horizon. Rainbow saw it too and picked up her pace a bit to ensure she'd win the race. I couldn't let her. I pushed as hard as I could and did a full sprint. My legs screamed to stop, but I couldn't. Why does this race mean so much to me? I didn't know, it just did. The second we got to the station, I stopped, and fell on the ground, exhausted.
"Who, won, Twilight?" Rainbow asked between her breaths.
"I did of course, you can't outspeed instant teleportation." The pony answered matter of factly.
"Out, of, us, two."
"I'm not so sure, I think you were just ahead." She said. Twilight dropped a train ticket on the limp pony and walked over to where I was resting. She put her head right up to my ear. "Don't tell her this, but you won." She whispered. She gave me my ticket then winked as she sat down next to me. A newspaper materialized and she began reading it.
"Nopony, beats me, in a, race." Rainbow said. She layed her head down and shot me a smug look as she recovered from the exhaustion.
"Don't do it." Twilight whispered.
Fluttershy, did you see that? I beat her!
"I saw, that was amazing, I'm sure that was her first loss ever! There's no way I could've done that!"
Awesome.
"The train is here. You better get on."
Thanks! I jumped onto my hooves and trotted over to the train happily, I stopped just before stepping on and looked at it in a state of raw confusion. "This is the train?" I asked nobody on particular.
"Sure is pally." An orange pony said as he hopped onto tr platform. By his hat, I figured he was the conductor, or at least high up in position for operation of the thing. "You getting on? I'll need your ticket." His voice was stereotypical and quite bothersome, I handed the ticket to him anyways. Or is it hoofed? Who cares. I did it. He gave it back with a smile. "Enjoy your ride."
"Thanks." I jumped onto the train and walked in. I plopped down on a random bench and waved Twilight down when she and Rainbow got on. They came over and sat on the bench facing mine. "Whats up with this train?" I asked Twilight quietly.
"What do you mean?"
"It looks like a rainbow had fucktuplets with a cupcake."
"Oh boy, this'll be a long trip."
"Attention passengers, we'll be arriving at Canterlot in one minute. Please gather your things and prepare to leave if this is your stop." An intercom buzzed.
"Thats us." Twilight said.
We waited for the train to stop then got off. I looked around at the lustrous city.
"This is amazing." I said. "This can't possibly be the same world as that little village we were just at."
"First time in a big city?" Asked a pony who walked up from behind.
"You could say that." I looked around for Twilight and Rainbow. Both of which seemed to have vanished in a small crowd of ponies.
"It's ok, you'll get used to it." I looked at the pony closely. Her build was similar to most ponies I've seen so far. Her coat was white and she had a dark blue mane and tail. Her mane was long, but cut into segments kind of like an anime hero. She didn't have wings, though she did have a horn.
"Who are you?" I asked, frightened and curious. I walked towards a fountain just outside the station, just in case she was going to murder me.
"My name is Elise, you?"
"Derick." She stayed right by my side, refusing to leave.
"That's a strange name." She mumbled. She glanced over her back at a pony dressed as a cop. She quickly looked back and pressed her face into mine. I stood there, confused.
"What the hell?" I asked, trying not to shout. I'm sure thats the closest this place has ever gone to rape.
"PDA makes ponies uncomfortable and they look away unintentionally.
"Yeah, so?"
"I'll explain the next time we meet, goodbye." Without turning, she walked backwards towards the police pony and backflipped over him, out of sight, completely unnoticed.
"I don't know whats more disturbing, the fact that she nearly made out with somepony she just met, or the fact that both were clearly female."
Is every pony off their rocker in this place?
"Not that I remember."
"Fluttershy!" Twilight shouted then ran over to me. She hugged me and whispered. "Derick, this is a large town, people know our names, just pretend you're Fluttershy and avoid any verbal contact if possible."
"Gotcha Twi." I said, shoving her off of me.
"So who was that? Is she your secret crush? Ooh she's your marefriend isn't she?" Twilight pestered.
"I don't know, but its nothing like that."
"Then why did you make out? Oooh I'm telling everypony!"
"Isn't there a princess we should be talking to?" I said to avoid the topic.
"Goodness, you're right! To the castle!" Twilight started walking towards the town center.
Rainbow floated down to me. "Dude, I saw that." She laughed and then joined us as we went to the castle.

Not sure if its true for pc android or anything else, but for some reason, on ios, my indentations are having a problem where even though they are all even, some are in more. No clue why this happens all I can think of is that I don't have a tab button so I use five spaces. Only off by one or two here and there guranteed, but it's still there, anybody know how to fix it?
