Resistance

The princess and remaining ponies and rebels were informed of the suppression field. To the ponies, it was awful. To the rebels, it was just city 17 all over again. With a suppression field comes a citadel. The ponies quickly established a plan on how to take back Equestria and take the fight to the griffons/combine.

Step 1: re-take Ponyville.

Step 2: capture and secure the train station.

Step 3: ride the train to major cities.

Step 4: capture the cities, securing a foothold in Equestria.

Step 5: use whatever the combine deployed in Equestria against them.

While this plan was being established, princess Luna continued theorizing a plan to increase their forces tenfold.

“Couldn't we use a cleansing spell?” All the people in the room looked directly at Luna.

“If we could capture Trottingham, we could use the spell transmitter to make the ‘brainwashed’ combine solders work with us.” Luna said, all the others erasing everything on the white boards they used for planning and drew a city with a huge tower.

“Alright!” A rebel yelled.

All the ponies and rebels filed out of the room out to the courtyards or the make-shift sleeping quarters inside the castle. Outside, the city was being reworked into a fortress. Rebels and technicians hacked and re-programmed combine tech out in the field. From hopper mines to thumpers. Thanks to the help of some vortiguants, the thumpers now released a massive electrical charge, able to stop a heart instantly.

After doing a head count, the current Equestrian and human force was as followed:

46 rebels.

126 royal guards.

1 strider.

1 hunter.

2 hunter choppers.

4 APCS

And 13 or so vorts.

Dan was thinking, the fight for Trottingham would be a long one, and if the combine knew about the tower, even harder. How could the royal guards be more effective? Give them guns? The unicorns at least. Stun-sticks for the earth ponies and maybe hopper mines to the pegasai. Stun-sticks could knock a cop out in a hit or two, hopper mines are fairly light and could be used for bombing runs…

Maybe they could re-work combine armour.

With that thought, Dan went out to assemble the rebels who weren't sleeping, planning or training to grab some gear. Guns, ammo, armour. Anything that could help.

The dead combine soldiers were pulled out of their armour and left in the morgue to be buried. They were still humans… Only with humanity being a thing of their past. The group of rebels carried back overwatch soldier armour and civil protection armour. Considering that pegasai needed to be light and the earth ponies have the most strength out of the 4 pony races, civil protection body armour was passed out to pegasai and earth ponies, while the weakest of the races, the unicorns, got overwatch armour. All ponies were due for a visit to the royal tailors, who now worked endlessly to remodel combine armour to fit the ponies, and Twilight and the princesses worked around the clock to duplicate sub-machine-guns and ammo for the unicorns, while making pistols useable for pegasai.

Fluttershy went to work with the doctors at the hospital while AJ trained with the rest of the earth ponies how to use stun-sticks. The pegasai were taught how to use hoppers and fire and reload the pistols. Unicorns were taught basic cover tactics, such as firing while the enemy reloads. The advantage they had was they could float their guns behind enemy cover and with a high enough skill level, see through the gun.

Unfortunately, the combine could have just shelled Trottingham. Then it would just be filled with zombie. Maybe even royal guard zombies… I got nothing. No cheesy joke sorry.

If that was the case, pegasai could just fly in, secure the tower and carry in a unicorn to cast the spell. But that would be to easy. Pegasus scouts came in with reports that Trottingham was flooded to the brim with combine and griffons. The would mean striders and maybe even another combine suppression device. That would be awful.

The soldiers and ponies ate whatever the castle had. Fortunately, it was a ton.

A few long weeks later, the force was prepped. Loaded into APCS and dropships containers attached to the choppers, the force was rolled out of Canterlot. Only a few rebels stayed behind to defend if they were attacked.

With the new rebellion out on the road, the combine could very well face the end of their control in Equestria.
