A Good Wake Up Call

As the morning sun shone through the open windows of the crystal palace in Ponyville, Spike was standing outside Twilight Sparkle’s bedroom. He looked up at the large crystallised doors and gulped. He hated having to try and wake her up, especially when she had spent the majority of the previous night with her head stuck in another book. She often appeared more grouchy and stubborn which would carry on through the rest of the morning, but their Friendship Council meeting was about to start, and Twilight’s friends would be hear soon.

As Spike’s claw hovered in mid-knock, he could hear hoofsteps around the corner. He looked over his shoulder and saw an orange stallion wearing royal armour coming towards. He gave him a quick wave and indication that he wanted to speak to him. “What is it you want, Spike?” asked the stallion, quite loudly when he approached the door.

“Quiet, Flash!” Spike hissed, flapping his arms in the air, “Listen, our council meeting is about to start, and Twilight is still not awake from her late study.”

“Ok,” said Flash Sentry slowly, “and how do I fit in to this?”

“Can you go in there and wake her up?”

“Why me?”

Spike crossed his arms, “Well you are her private guard, not to mention that you are going out with her, so I think you are the suitable candidate.”

Flash rolled his eyes, “Just because I happen to be going out with the princess, that does not mean that I have to go in and disturb her from her sleep.” he said in an adamant sort of voice.

“I am disappointed in you, Flash.” sighed Spike, shaking his head, “Never thought I’d see you trying to shirk your responsibilities.”

“I’m not shirking!” said Flash, his voice rising, but quickly lowered it again, “I just don’t see why I’m the one to go wake her up, when you’ve been standing out here all this time.”

Both pony and dragon glared at each other, eyes darting between the closed door and themselves. Finally, Spike said in a calm voice, “So… you gonna wake her up?”

“I’ll wake her up.” Flash sighed, sounding defeated.

“Great.” said Spike, and he ran back down the hall into his own room and came back with a pile of scrolls and his favourite quill, “Just send her down when you’re got her ready.” and with that, Spike ran along the corridor, turned a corner and slid down the bannister of the Crystal Staircase, leaving Flash standing outside Twilight’s room.

“You know, one of these days, I’m gonna have to try and be more assertive with him.” Flash muttered as he slowly open the door and walked inside.

The sight before him was one he had seen many times. Books lay stacked high on top of another around the room and some lay scattered across the floor. Some parchment rolled out across the floor, the end of it disappearing behind the curtains of the four poster bed on the other side of the room. Flash sighed and walked slowly towards it, trying not to step on the books. When he approached the bed, he slowly pulled open the curtains.

When Flash envisioned how a princess would sleep, he wouldn’t have thought of them lying on their stomachs, spread eagled with their wings half folded in, snoring slightly and a bit of dribble coming from their open mouths. Yet here she was, Princess Twilight Sparkle, his marefriend, in such a position, with half-opened books covering the bed and completely unaware of his presence. Flash nudged her slightly, “Twilight?” he whispered.

SMACK!

Flash rubbed the end of his muzzle where the book had made contact, and tried again. Fortunately, he managed to duck out of the way of the next book she had thrown at his face…

SMACK!

Shame he missed the one hitting the side of his head.

“Go away.” said Twilight, in a groggy voice as she rolled over.

“Aw, come on, Twilight,” said Flash, soothingly as he went over to the other side of the bed to face her, “you know you have to get up for the council meeting, and you know you hate being late.”

“Not… time yet.” groaned Twilight, rolling back over.

“I’m afraid it is.” said Flash, leaning over to talk quietly in her ear, “I know you like to have eight hours of sleep precisely, but you shouldn’t have been studying so late now, should you?” Twilight said nothing but shuffled slightly in irritation. Flash straightened up and said, “Well, if you won’t move, then I shall have to use my ‘special methods’ of persuasion.”

Twilight turned her head slightly to see a small smirk on Flash’s face, “You wouldn’t.” she muttered.

“Wouldn’t I?” Flash grinned. Slowly, he then pulled himself onto the bed and moved closer to Twilight. Twilight covered her head, knowing what was to come, as she felt Flash’s hoof make contact with her shoulder. She flinched slightly trying not to giggle. That was the signal for Flash.

He then began to rub his hoof underneath Twilight’s foreleg, and quickly moved up and down and side to side, causing her to give in and burst out laughing. He loved it when she laughed; it just made her sound cuter than she already was, her voice going higher than her normal range.

Twilight squirmed frantically to try and get away from the fierce tickling, but Flash wasn’t allowing it. When she felt him slowing down, she opened her eyes, gasping for breath, and saw him staring down at her, smiling. Instinctively, she brought his head closer and pulled him into a kiss. Even with morning breath, Flash returned the kiss with force, making Twilight moan thus allowing his tongue access to wrestle with hers. This moment of passion should ended as Flash pushed himself upwards, breaking the contact, but Twilight then looked up at him and said, in a low seductive voice, “You know Flash, I may need some more persuasion.”

The rest of the Mane 6 and Spike sat at their thrones, looking quite bored. The sun was now fully up, but the same could not be said for Twilight. It had been fifteen minutes, and her throne was still empty. Spike had explained that she had managed to fall asleep by 4:30, so if he hadn’t sent Flash in, she wouldn’t have gotten up by 12:30.

“Well, I seriously wish Sentry would hurry up then!” Rainbow Dash grumbled loudly, “I am not waiting around while it’s a nice day outside.”

“I hear ya, Rainbow.” agreed Applejack, “I need ta get back up ta the farm quickly, I can’t be leavin’ Big Mac with all the mornin’ chores.”

“Well, a lady, or rather, a princess does require her beauty sleep.” said Rarity, “Although I must admit Spike, you really should have told her to have gone to sleep earlier.”

“Hey I’ve tried to do that,” said Spike, defensively, “but you know that when Twilight gets her head in a book nothing will take her out of it.”

The others all muttered in agreement and all sat back in their thrones, when they all heard something. It was quite faint, but it seemed to be coming from above them; a strange moaning noise.

“What in the hay is that?” asked Applejack.

“It sounds like some kind of ghostie or ghoulie is living upstairs.” said Pinkie Pie.

“Don’t be ridiculous Pinkie,” chuckled Spike, “The only thing above us is Twilight’s bedroom.”

“Twilight’s bedroom?” said Fluttershy, her eyes widening at this. She then looked over at Rarity, who had the exact same look of horror on her face. The realisation began to slowly dawn on everypony else, when very faintly, Twilight’s voice could be heard through the thin crystalline ceiling.

“Ah, yes! Right there Flash, right there!”

“No.” muttered Rainbow Dash, a look of shocked amusement on her face, “They’re not…”

Her question was answered, by the sound of dull thuds and compressed springs being made above their heads.

“Oh my.” whispered Fluttershy, blushing madly as she tried to hide behind her hair. Rarity was covering her mouth with her hoof, trying not to look at the ceiling, while Pinkie and Applejack just stared in disbelief at each other.

“So, how has everypony’s morning been?” asked Spike loudly, trying to drown out the sounds that were coming from his sister figure’s bedroom.

“Great! Marvellous!” they all shouted back in unison. They all fell back into awkward silence as the thuds were starting to get louder and Twilight’s moans and screams of “Yes!” and “Fuck!” were now much clearer.

“So, I do believe it’s going to be a nice day today!” said Rarity, trying to break the awkwardness of the situation.

“Actually Rarity, we may be seeing some rain!” Rainbow Dash replied, “Quite hard as well!”

“Harder you animal, fuck me harder!!”

Everypony glared at Rainbow Dash for her choice of words as the thuds was now turning into banging as it began to pick up speed and Twilight was practically screaming. “Hey girls,” said Pinkie Pie, reaching into her mane, “I wonder if anypony would want to listen to some music?” and she pulled out a small radio. They all nodded and shouted their replies and Pinkie began twiddling the dials until a finally a song started to come through.

Baby, I want you,
Come, come, come into my arms.

“Somethin’ else, somethin’ else!” Applejack shouted, as by the sounds upstairs that was precisely what was about to happen. As Pinkie tried to find another signal, the banging was now nonstop and then they heard Twilight let out a long scream, followed by the sound of splintering wood and the shattering of crystal. They all jumped and ran to the window, just in time to see a purple ray of magic, (the exact same colour as Twilight’s magic) disappear into the distance as the thuds were now slowing down until at last, silence.

No pony spoke as they made their way back to their thrones. Spike sat hunched over, his face in his right hand, Fluttershy was still blushing, Rarity looked down at her hooves while Applejack slowly pulled her hat over her eyes. Soon they heard the doors open and they all looked to see Flash standing there. They noticed he had a bit of a spring in his step and was breathing quite heavily as addressed them. “Princess Twilight Sparkle!” he said breathlessly, and Rainbow Dash noticed that a small line of smoke was emanating from the piece of his mane that was now sticking out from under his helmet.

Twilight then walked in, swaying and trying to keep her balance, as if she was a foal just learning how to walk. She had a dreamy grin on her face and her mane was sticking out in places as well. “Sorry I’m late girls.” she said as Flash closed the doors and she sat down on her throne, “Late night studying, struggled to get up on time. Now, I call today’s meeting on the grounds of a…”

She looked up from the notes she had brought with her, and saw that everypony’s face was on her, all with the same blank expression, they mouths open slightly and their eyes wide.

“What?”
