"Rarity do I have to go?"
"Oh come now, Sweetie Belle. It will be fun! Apple Bloom, Scootaloo, and that little colt I see you stare at so often will be there " Rarity let out a small giggle. Sweetie's face turned as red as the fire ruby necklace Rarity was wearing.
"Button's just a friend of mine." Yeah just a friend . . .. While it was true that Button was her friend, she couldn't help but think of how cute he was, with his little propeller cap and love of video games. Truth be told she wanted nothing more than for Button to be her special somepony. If her face was red before it was now as red as Apple Bloom's hair. She would have been over the moon about spending time with him at a Heart's Warming Eve party had it not been for the host of said party.
Sweetie sat on her bed reading. she was so focused in her book that the knock at her door made her jump a little.
"Sweetie Belle could you be a darling and get the door for me please? I need to finish this dress." Rarity gets too wrapped up in her dress making . She stopped and marked her place in her book than trotted down the stairs . When she opened the door she was greeted with a hated yet familiar sight. Diamond Tiara stood there holding a bright red envelope.
"Oh hi there Stinky Belle" Diamond wrinkled her nose in disgust .
Sweetie rolled her eyes at the remark. "What do you want Diamond"
Diamond passed her the envelope. " Daddy is hosting a Hearts warming Eve party and he made me invite you and rarity" Diamond scrunched her face up even more.
" Thanks. But I think I will . . ."
The end of Sweetie's answer was never heard, as Rarity came to the door, and gently pushed Sweetie out of the way " Oh a Heart's Warming Eve party how wonderful! Please do tell your father we will be more than delighted to attend." Ignoring the look of shock and anger on her face, Rarity took the envelope and walked back upstairs to start a new dress.
Diamond smirked and started to trot away " Happy hearths warming eve" She pretended to throw up "Stinky belle".
"Rarity please! All Diamond is going to do is make fun of me."
Rarity had finally had enough. She put down her make up and glared at Sweetie belle. " Sweetie Belle Diamond Tiara and Mr.Rich have already showed us enough kindness by inviting us. Now please stop whining." Rarity looked at her hurt expression and sighed. "Sweetie, I know you and Diamond are not the closest of friends, but it's Heart's Warming Eve, this is the one time of year when we all get together and put aside our differences. So please try to get along with Diamond please".
"Okay rarity I'll try" she sighed. I'll do it for you.
Rarity looked down at her. " Thank you Sweetie you really are growing up you know." Rarity looked up at the clock ," Oh! Sweetie we have to leave for the party soon. Here let me brush your mane." Rarity took the brush and began to run it through Sweetie's mane.
After finishing dressing up for the party, Sweetie and Rarity left and started to trot towards Diamonds mansion.She looked up at her big sister "Rarity?"
Rarity looked down at her. "Yes, Sweetie?"
She sighed " do you really think Diamond will be nice to me".
Rarity knocked on the door, then turned to sweetie. " I think she will." The door opened, but it wasn't Diamond at the door. It was a brown earth pony colt with a propeller hat on.
Sweetie's cheeks lit aflame. She smiled shyly at the colt. "Hi Button Mash."

"Hi there, Sweetie Belle." Button Mash flashed a friendly smile at her.
Sweetie Belle stood frozen in place Her heart beating one million times in a fraction of a second. She always felt her heart quicken at the sight of Button Mash.The prominent contrast between his done up mane and his trademark propeller cap made her smile .This continued on for a bit longer than she realized.
"Equestria to Sweetie Belle" Button Mash waved his hoof in front of her face.
Rarity let a small giggle seeing her sisters face become, as red as Big Macintosh's coat.
Sweetie Belle rolled her eyes Rarity is probably comparing this to one of those cheesy romance novels Rarity reads .
"Sweetie Belle I'm going to go find the other adults. Have fun." Rarity walked into the mansion leaving Button Mash and Sweetie Belle at the door.
"Nice tux, Button." Sweetie Belle smiled at the sight of the form fitting tuxedo wrapped around Button Mash like Wrapping paper around a present Wonder what his mom had to go through to get it on him. She held in a small giggle at the thought of Mrs.Mash chasing Button around the house trying to get the tuxedo on him.
"I wanted to wear my Link costume but, my mom said if I don't wear this I'm grounded for a week from all my games." Button Mash closed his eyes Cringing at the mere thought.
Sweetie let out a small giggle.
"Oh Sweetie I want to show you something" Button Mash took her hoof and pulled her inside.He was so excited to show Sweetie Belle his surprise that he didn't notice Sweetie Belle almost fainting.
Sweetie Belle's face was now bright red. She walked past a certain pink mare who was devouring sweets like no tomorrow.Where are Scootalo and Apple bloom? She was suddenly stopped by a hoof in front of her. The owner of said hoof was Button Mash.Sweetie Belle turned her gaze to see there were in front of a door
"Allow me my lady" In the blink of an eye the door was open and there holding it was button mash.
It took every ounce of self control Sweetie Belle had to hold back a Squeal of delight. When she entered the room she saw Apple Bloom and a certain pirate colt hugging.I always knew Apple Bloom had a crush on pip Her attention the small couch in the living room and To her delight, Scootalo and Rumble were lying on Feather pillows.
A tap was felt felt on Sweeties shoulder.
"This is what I wanted to show you, Sweetie" Button Mash held up a small wrapped box " I thought it would be cool to give somepony a surprise gift."
Sweetie Belle looked at button. Oh I hope he gives it to me.
"Attention all gentlecolts" Diamond Tiara trotted through the door Button Mash had held for Sweetie Belle earlier."I would like to announce that tonight at ten'oclock, one lucky colt will get a kiss under the mistletoe from me"
Many colts gasped including Button Mash.
An idea suddenly hit sweetie Like a bucket of ice cold water . Well Diamond you can count Button of your list because I'll be the one he kisses under the mistletoe. Sweetie Belle was determined to make this night her night.
