No common study has every truly interested me, since my earliest years. When I found history, however, I found a new purpose. These great historians have cheated their way into the fantastic things about which they wrote - almost making themselves the author of it. The creator. That the lives of the founders of Rome, are not known as "The men who built early Rome and their stories", but rather as Plutarch's "Makers of Rome." I lusted for a share in this stolen glory, that my name could be remembered in tandem with a wondrous city like Rome or her contemporaries. I never found the story to tell, until now.
