//-------------------------------------------------------// Stuck Between Worlds -by Lordav- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Transition //-------------------------------------------------------// Transition It was a normal summer day at Canterlot High as student happily left their classrooms to enjoy their break. The courtyard was filled with people talking, playing and enjoying their time as the sun shined brightly over them. Six girls were sitting around the magnificent horse statue that towered in the courtyards center. One of them touched the side of the statue and said: "I wonder what Twilight is doing right now." "Yeah me too Rarity," Rainbow Dash answered "stuff sure went quiet after she left." "Hey Sunset, do you still have that magical book that can contact her?" asked Pinkie Pie "Maybe we can get her to visit us! We could have a party and sweets and music and cake… and sweets!" "Sorry Pinkie, I'm sure Twilight has some very important things to do as a princess in Equestria and I'd think it'd be best for us to leave her alone for a while" Sunset Shimmer replied. "Owwwwwww!" Pinkie frowned. "Well in that I case we need to wait for another terrible thing to happen in order for her to visit us some more." Rarity stated. The statue then started glowing purple, "Pinkie what did you do now?" asked Apple Jack. "Nothing!" "Everybody stand back!" Rainbow shouted. "Do you think it might be Twiligh…" Fluttershy whispered as her eyes widened. Snow and ice erupted from the statue followed by a red blob of what seemed to be cloth. It stretched towards the six confused girls and a ice boulder thumped on the snow. They slowly approached the ice. "I don't think that's Twilight." Rainbow Dash stated. "Oh my, look.." Fluttershy pointed to the red cloth as the girls approached it confused. "What is going on?" Sunset Shimmer asked confused. “Honestly, is this it?” I thought to myself.  I could feel warmth on my belly while I still felt cold on my back. My eyes were still shut and I didn’t even know if I could open them. “Am I dead, if so why does my back still hurt?” I kept repeating this thought until I heard footsteps on the crunching snow. I slowly starting opening my eyes, through my shaded ski goggles I could feel a strong light shining in my face. It didn’t feel like the Sun I was used to, It was a lot warmer but not as bright. As I opened my eyes I could tell the outlines of people looking at me, my vision was still blurry but it slowly recovered its focus. I then saw six girls staring down at me, it was just that they weren’t normal, they were cartoons. One of them, with long red and yellow hair, waved her had in front of my face and asked; “Are you OK?” “Yup, I’m in heaven, I’m dead” I said aloud to myself and closed my eyes back shut. To my surprise I kept feeling a hand shaking me and I opened my eyes. The girls were still there and they looked exactly like characters from a TV show I used to watch. I tried to stand up but a horrendous pain from my back put me right back. The only sound I made was a frown of pain as I breathed heavily, it hurt really badly and I was afraid that I had broken my back. “Hey, are you OK?” the red-haired girl asked again. I started to recognize her from the TV series and my eyes widened, this was not possible. I took of my ski goggles; “I…guess so,” I could move my back without that much pain now, luckily it wasn’t broken “where am I?” “You are in the courtyard of Canterlot High and this might sound weird but you just came out of a statue.” She pointed to the huge horse statue behind her, “I’m Sunset Shimmer by the way and these are Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Applejack. Now who may you be?” My eyes widened, Pinkie Pie continuously waved at me with a huge smile on her face, “No way!” I answered; “and…my name is Lorand.” “Oh good so you heard about us, you must be very far away from Equestria aren’t you?” She continued. “Umm… I am not exactly from Equestria.” I answered. //-------------------------------------------------------// The Hike //-------------------------------------------------------// The Hike It was mid-winter and strong freezing winds blew over the Alps, nevertheless we were determined to reach the 3,036 meter point on Monte Rosa. After a long school semester I joined a friend, Cristian, in a hiking trip on this Swiss colossus. We've been hiking for three days now and each step brought us closer to the Alpine Hut. Snow covered the surroundings displaying an entire panorama of nature's most beautiful yet harsh environments. Looking upwards you could see the mountains dominant summit gazing upon the rest of the Alps with a terrifying presence. We were nearly a third up the route, near a ridge when we set a terrible storm came out of nowhere. A gale suddenly hit our group sending tents flying in all directions, the guides screamed at us to secure our lifelines in the and I battered my nail in the hard ice beneath me. All of a sudden an ice slide occurred and strips of ice started moving towards the ridge, the ground started to move and to my horror I realized that I was sliding as well. Cristian yelled at me to jump of the ice but I hammered the nail too hard in the ice and was therefore immobilized. As the ice fell over the edge it shattered freeing me from the lifeline but it was too late, I couldn't grab the side of the ridge and I started fell over in the edge. The last thing I heard was my name and then silence. Time seemed to slow down as pictures flashed through my head. Ironically, instead of thinking of the fall I just realized how beautiful the mountain actually was. Its towering stand was unmatched by any of the other peaks and it seemed as a slope to heaven, and eagle was slowly flying about 300 meters above me scouting the area. I could feel tiny pieces of ice touching my face as I plummeted to what I thought would be my doom. Time now seemed to barely flow as I was waiting to feel my back touch the ground in order to end this terrifying experience. Finally I felt my back touch something cold and I closed my eyes, I have reached the bottom, the wait was over.
