Nightmare at CHS

Twilight gave a nod to the guards at the doors to her castle as they saluted her. They were an addition she was still getting used to, but after her negligence of a peacetime guard caused her to nearly lose a friend to the horror of Nightmare Moon, she had to do something. She now had the newly formed Twilight Guard. She still shock her head at the name, but with Celestia having the Solar Guard and Luna the Lunar Guard it was the only name that fit. Her guard was made up of some of the best out of both guards and even a couple from the Crystal Empire. Shining was taking no chances with his L.S.B.F.F. She walked into her main living area of the castle when a voice interrupted her thoughts.
“Hi, Twilight. Is something wrong?” Twilight jerked to a stop and immediately looked behind her. There, on the couch she had for when Celestia visited, was Selene, who was apparently enjoying a slice of cake.
If it wasn't for Pinkie Pie, Twilight would say Selene was the strangest friend she had. Anypony in their right mind from that era who knew nothing about Selene would see her and assume her intent was to enact a coup and bring about nighttime eternal, but they would be wrong. A human named Tom physically died saving a mare from a bad fate but by some force – fate, luck, or magic, take your pick – he ended up in a new body intended for Nightmare Moon made by a group of radicals. Being definitively dead back home, he tried to make a life for himself in Equestria and took on the name Selene. Unfortunately, the radicals foalnapped her and, were it not for Twilight and her friends, would have managed to finish what they started, in the process killing many. Thankfully they manage to stop them and free Selene, but not before many ponies lost their lives.
“Selene what are you doing here? I thought you were staying in Canterlot Castle?”
“I was, but I think, for the health of the country, I should keep my distance from Celestia for the time being.” Twilight facehoofed and groaned.
“What did you do now?”
“I only hid Celestia's supply of cake.” Twilight had a look of utter horror. Celestia LOVES her cake, how will she react to them being gone?
* * * * * *
ONE HOUR EARILER
Celestia just finished her royal duties for the morning and was eagerly finishing up launch and about to have some delicious cloud cake for desert. The waiter came out with a nervous expression.
“Um, your highness, there seems to be a problem with the cake.”
“Oh?”
'Y-yes, um it's...ah..it's gone.”
“What do you mean gone?”
“Well, the chefs made some fresh ones this morning but they just check and they were gone.”
“Well just get another cake.”
“That's the thing, Princess; they're ALL gone.” Celestia's usual demeanor dropped.
“All?” he just nodded. With a flash of golden white light Celestia teleported from the private dinning hall to the pantry. No cakes; the secondary pantry, no cakes; the siege pantry, no cakes. There was one place left that she would have cakes. In her private area. She dug a large chamber in the mountain where she did the bulk of her hobbies and "me time" stuff. It had a full fledged kitchen for when she got into the mood to bake, and the pantry was enchanted to keep anything put into it as fresh as the day it was made, even if that was 100 years prior – not that any of her baked goods lasted that long. She opened the pantry with an expectant smile, only for it to die as this pantry was empty too. She sat on her haunches and started to cry a little.
'Who? Who would steal her cakes?' Lulu might take one from her in jest. Discord? While it was within him to do this he would be bragging about it. He would have flashed in and laughed at her. no, only one being would dare touch her cakes like this. With cold determination she teleported to her balcony and to the open air in full Royal Canterlot Voice she screamed.
"SELEEEENE!"

“All the cakes?” Twilight asked. Selene grinned at her with a grin worthy of the original Nightmare Moon.
“Every. Single. One.”
“That explains the yell I heard earlier.”
“Yeah, she's got a set of pipes on her no doubt.” Selene looked at Twilight and smirked. “And you thought Luna was loud.” Twilight just shook her head then asked.
“Why must you prank Princess Celestia so often?”
“I can't help it Twilight. Your powers did not eliminate Nightmare Moon. It merge Nightmare Moon and Tom into what you see before you. The former human Tom's persona is more dominant but there is Nightmare Moon as well. While I don't have the need to bring about eternal night or take over Equestria anymore, I can't leave Celestia alone either. I love Celestia, I really do, but when the urge comes to prank I can't ignore it.”
“Wow, I never thought about that.”
“As powerful and wonderful the elements can be, they are not perfect. Though I don't have a ludicrous plan to attack Canterlot anymore, the elements left something mischievous. Unfortunately, we can't really do anything about it now, so let us get back to the present. I suppose I will be bunking here,” Selene put on a thoughtful pose, "though I remember a certain pony promising me a trip to the Crystal Empire.” Twilight shook her head.
“Sorry Selene, Shining and Cadance are too busy with the Crystal ponies getting ready to host some trade negotiations with representatives from Saddle Arabia on their crystals.”
“Wait, why aren't they in Canterlot? The Crystal Empire is a part of Equestria right?”
“True, but they are quite autonomous from our rule since distance is a factor. Cadance has the power and ability to make her own treaties as long as they don't vioalte any law, the Empire's or the country's. Since she is a very good diplomat, my presence is not needed. She wouldn't have time for me visiting, so there's no sense visiting right now.” Selene slouched, folded her fore hooves together with a put said.
“Poo.” The stance and expression was too much like Rainbow Dash that it cause Twilight to chuckle. Before either alicorn could go further there was a flash of light.
“Alright, who manage to pull that awesome trick on old Sunnybutt." Twilight sighed at Discord, something which he either didn't noticed or ignored as he lifted a couch looking for something. “I mean taking all of her cakes, even I dared not try to pull that one off. I just need to shake the hoof of the pony who did that.”
“That'd be Selene over here Discord.” Twilight said pointing a hoof at the black alicorn. Discord whipped over to her.
“Ah our recent reformed villain.” Discord put an arm around Selene. “As a reformed villain I give my seal of approval.” Discord slapped a sticker of him with a goofy expression with the words ' approved reformed villain' circling it. Selene scowled and took off the sticker before an evil smile formed on her lips. Twilight saw the glow of Selene's magic appear on Discord's back. When Discord faced away from Twilight, she saw it. Taped onto his back was a simple paper with the words 'kick me' on it. Twilight couldn't help but chuckle. Discord looked to Twilight and gestured to her. “See Teal Moonbutt, Twilight thinks it funny.” Twilight didn't say anything. Yeah sure, he's her friend, but that doesn't mean she has to be nice to him all the time. Call it karma for Discord. She would study to see how long it takes him to notice the sign. Discord made a clock appear. “As much as I would like to stay and chat, I have an appointment with Fluttershy for tea. Ta-ta!” With another flash he was gone with the two alicorns giggling knowingly.

Selene was heading to the library to check out some books. Twilight was helping out Rarity with something and since was not into fro fro things she left them to it. She honest put herself between Twilight and Rainbow Dash in Tomcoltishness. And she didn't feel like being her unicorn self just yet. She opened the library doors and was surprised to see Pinkie Pie in there. The pink pony was slowly getting up like she'd been on the floor.
“Pinkie, what are you doing here? I thought you be working at Sugar Cube Corner or throwing a party somewhere in town.” Pinkie looked at Selene and gasped and raced over.
“You're like HUUUUGE! And your hair all mist and starry.”
“Pinky, what's wrong with you. You've known this since we met.”
“Silly, this is the first time we've met.” Pinkie replied. Selene heard another gasp before a familiar voice said.
“Wow, that is one heck of a doozie. It even beats Twilight's doozie.” Selene looked over to see.
Pinkie Pie.
She looked back to where she saw pinkie before and saw.
Pinkie Pie.
Head going like a person watching a tennis match between the two.
There was two Pinkie Pies.

Selene remained in this state as the two Pinkies chatted with each other until the sound of a book hitting the floor knocked her out of it. She looked over to see a jaw dropped Twilight. Any, ANY other time Selene would hoof pump at that. Twilight then glared and Selene. Selene sat down and waved her forehooves in the air.
“I swear I have nothing to do with this joke. I'll even Pinkie Promise.” Selene went through the motions. “Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye; I Selene Light, have absolutely nothing. I repeat NOTHING to do with this joke Twilight.” The first Pinkie gasped again before appearing over to Twilight looking her over.
“So this is what you look like as a pony, NEAT! That is so super duperific! Almost as cool and Black Snooty over there.”
'Why?' Selene thought. 'Why must that name haunt me?' Having Nightmare Moon's memeories she had to deal with the first time that name was uttered. Twilight broke Selene out of her depressing thoughts.
“As a pony?” Twilight asked before Selene saw the light bulb go off in the alicorn's head. “Wait, you're from Canterlot High?!”
“Yuperoonie! I first took my head in but it was all dizzy and crazy but I finally decided to do it and boy was it cool. I even have this in my hair.” Pinkie 1 pulled out a party cannon.
“DO NOT SHOOT THAT IN MY LIBRARY!” Twilight yelled.
“Aaaaaaawwwwww!” Pinkie number one says and her main deflated a bit.
“Um Twilight, would you care to explain the two Pinkie disaster we have here?” Selene asked. Twilight put a hoof around Pinkie 1.
“This is the Pinkie Pie from another world. One where she is a human. I ended up there chasing a pony named Sunset Shimmer who stole my first crown.” Twilight pointed a wing over to a weird contraption in the corner. “About a month before you showed up they ran into trouble over their with a group of Sirens called the Dazzlelings that were banished to there by Starswirl the Bearded. Thankfully Sunset still had the journal she and Celestia used to keep in touch and with that machine I can travel to their world anytime I want.”
“And you just left it on for anyone to waltz through?” Selene said pointedly at Twilight. Twilight did wince and looked sheepishly.
“Well I was working on an experiment when you disappeared and kinda forgot.”
“Okay I'll buy that.” Selene relpied and then she noticed that look on Twilight;s face. Before she could ask Twilight said.
“Say Selene. The Crystal Empire might be out for now, but would you take an alternative?” Selene raised a single eyebrow and replied.
“I'm listening.”

Through the Mirror
Selene had a couple of gems in her magic grip and set them into the saddle bags Rarity made for her not long after she arrived. The Human Pinkie had already gone back to get her human friends while Twilight and I got ready to go. Pinkie had wanted to come but had promised to look after the Cake twins. Selene promised to take pictures for the group so they could at least see the other world. For herself, it was a chance to be human again -- Granted it would be a humanized version of this body but still the nostalgia alone would make it worth it. All set to go, she headed back down to the library and saw Twilight already there giving Spike a longwinded summary.
“I know you want to go Spike but this isn't a crisis like the last two times and I need somebody to take care of the castle duties while I'm away.” Spike didn't look fully convinced and Twilight put a hoof under his chin and raised his head to meet her eyes. She had that kind, motherly smile on. “Spike, if anything happens over there, I have Selene with me, and I can always send a message to you. Likewise, if something should happen here I would need you to let me know. I'm counting on my Number One Assistant for this task.” She saw the baby dragon puff up with pride.
“You can count on me Twi!” Twilight looked up and saw Selene.
“Hey, you ready?”
“Ready and willing. I made sure that Luna knows where I hid the cakes so she can give them to Celestia at her leisure. I also left enough pranks around to keep Dashie and Pinkie busy.” Twilight's mouth did its best fish impersonation for a minute before she could respond.
“So you didn't eat them all?” I frowned at Twilight.
“Twilight please, even I can't eat that many cakes. I only had one and Celestia will get them back.....eventually.” Twilight just shook her head at that.
“Well let's get going.” Twilight nodded and I followed her to the portal. Twilight stepped through and after a couple seconds She went through. She was surrounded by dazzling lights and felt really werid.

When Selene could open her eyes again she saw concrete under her. Then she saw black hands below her. She got up and after a couple of wobbles she stood tall and looked down at herself. The shoes were the velcro tennis she loved as tom but in the colors of her hoof shoes and bearing her cutie mark. She had black jeans with a purple shirt with her cutie mark again. She also felt a weight on her head. She reached and grabbed something and pulled in eye sight. It was purple hair. She felt the 'duh' in her head. Of course her mane would not remain ethereal. Resisting the urge to self-facepalm she looked to her right and saw what she guessed was Twilight getting hugged by six girls in their late teens. Nearly all of which looked a tad familiar.
“Hey girls, good to see you again.” She heard Twilight say as she greeted them.
“Likewise darling, I hope Pinkie didn't cause too much trouble?” Selene heard this Rarity ask.
“Nah, she did make it looked that I was trying another multiple Pinkies Prank on Twi.” Selene answered causing the girls to look in her direction.
“Girls, this is my newest friend Selene Light, Selene I think you can guess who's who?” Selene looked over the group and found it odd that the human counter part to her pony friends had the their skin color match the pony fur color. How did that even work?
“Hello girls, a pleasure to meet you. Hey Rarity, I assume you have got a mirror on you some where?”
“Oh course dear. A lady is always prepared.” The the human Rarity replied as she grabbed a little mirror and handed it to Selene. She flipped it opened and looked at her face. As expected it was female and black, a glossy black. That's gonna be weird. What really stood out was her eyes. The whites of her eyes were white again instead of the turquoise she had nearly the pass year to get use to. The other was that her pupils were not slitted anymore. She was looking into Luna's eyes like this. It was kinda freaky when she thought about it. Nothing hit home more that she was a copy of Luna then that. Mentally she shook off that thought and returned the mirror to Rarity.
“Thank you, Rarity. Well, shall we go somewhere to eat?” The nods went around and Selene and Twilight followed them but Selene did glance back and the building nearby. It was U shape with a dome at the bottom of the U with a prancing pony and a six point star. Certainly better looking then her old high school.
“Hurry up Selene!” She heard Pinkie pie yell out and she rush to join the human version of her friends and likely her new set of friends.

Of all the places Selene should have guessed, Sugar Cube Corner. With shakes and baked goods they found a large private table to sit down and talk.
“So Selene, what caused you to want to visit our world?” Rarity asked. Finishing a sip of her shake, Selene answers.
“Well I wanted to see what the human version of my friends would be like and this certainly puts me out of range of Celestia's revenge prank for the time being.”
“Revenge prank? Why would our principle want to revenge prank you?” Rainbow Dash asked.
“Because I hid Princess Celestia's store of cakes before coming here. Only me and Luna know where they are.” Selene gave a cheeking grin.
“So Celestia has a thing for cakes?” Rainbow asked to which Selene nodded and bit down on a doughnut. Rainbow started rubbing her hands and had a wicked grin on. Selene believed that she opened a new prank attempt here, and she wasn't disturbed by it.
“I also couldn't pass up the chance to visit a world very much like my old home world before I became Selene.” The 'huh' looks the six girls had were priceless. She began telling them of her story for the next hour. When she had finished the six girls had the jaw drops but the story did not put Selene in the mood for the internal fist pump she usually had. She looked over to Sunset Shimmer, she had heard a bit about the self exiled Equestrian and saw a couple of the letters she wrote to Twilight so she knew her story as well. She reach over and touched Sunset's shoulder. “Both me and Princess Luna know how you feel. And that redemption does work.” Sunset smiled a bit at that to which Selene responded in kind.
“So you were a man before?” Applejack asked. Selene silently nodding. “That just ain't natural.”
“It's better than being dead and I would have never meant you or your pony counterparts.”
“So Selene, I was wondering if you can do me a favor?” Rarity asked as she played with her hair.
“What?” Selene asked cautiously.
“Well your appearance has inspired me and I would just love to make an outfit for you.” Fear shot through Selene. She'd been here before. Slowly getting up she responded.
“I don't think that will be necessary.” Selene looked to Twilight for help only to see her talking with Pinkie with that mischievous grin.
'Twilight, you're gonna get it later for this.'
“But I must insist dear. So many IIIIIDDDDDEEEAAAASSS!” At this point Selene was left with one option that she hoped had better results this time around. She ran for the door.
“NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOO! NOT AGAIN!” As she moved through the door she swore she saw a light blue woman with night colored hair. She worried about that and the fact that pinkie is likely taking a pic of this. She had another Rarity to escape from.

Twilight was still with the others laughing at the scene as Vice Principle Luna entered the store with a confused look on her face. She raised an eyebrow when she saw Twilight.
“Twilight Sparkle, can I assume you are responsible for what just happen?”
“Only in the fact I brought my latest friend with me from home and Rarity got inspiration.” Luna looked back the way she came and commented.
“She's doomed. Even I couldn't escape that girl's fashion drive. At least the dress she made me looked good. Now Twilight, what issue has brought you back?”
“Nothing this time. YOUR Pinkie came through the portal and we decided now would be a good time to visit. Besides, Selene was eager to see this world so we came through.” Luna looked at her with wide eyes for a minute before she manage to say....fearfully.
“You mean there's more than one Pinkie Pie?” Twilight nodded. And Pinkie Pie got in front of Twilight.
“Yeah she was just like me, but only a pony but then I was a pony to and TwilightlivesinacoolcastleandthatPinkieevenhadapartycannon....” Twilight saw Luna following her lead in tuning Pinkie out. Twilight knew the look of horror on her face well. It was the 'Dear Celestia, what was Equestria thinking' look. Before anything else could go further the doors opened again and a creepily familiar voice said.
“I'm telling you, Sunset we should head for that school now and get some readings before anything else.”
“Twilight you need food, I need food. The school is not....going....” Everyone paused as Twilight and company looked at the door to see...
Another Twilight Sparkle and Sunset Shimmer.
Selene felt her magic back and was ticked. It was time to show these morons why she was Nightmare Moon reborn. One of the foals tried to fire at her. She just raised a shield and the bullets dropped harmlessly to the floor. She then grabbed him with her magic and flew into the air through the hole in the roof. He let out a familiar scream as he flew.
'Hello Wilhelm.' The open roof gave her an idea. Her hair swirling up she then launches lightning bolts at the black clad figures electrocuting some of them. With a quick teleport she was next to the brute holding Fluttershy. She punched him out and lightly grabbed Fluttershy.
“You okay.” Selene asked the girl. She first looked fearfully at Selene. “It's still me Fluttershy. I won't harm you.” She slowly nodded and Selene smiled at her. Selene looked away and saw some of the figures starting to make a run for it. Her smile turned into an evil grin.
The head agent couldn't believe his eyes. His team of crack agents were getting whooped by one being. Granted this was one heck of a being. What was a normally but hot looking woman was now a being with a sharp horn on her forehead, wings on her back, but her hair was like a miniature starfield but was alive and moving. Then there's also her eyes and teeth. They just screamed predator and boy did she prove it. Nothing her team was doing was stopping her. She even rescued one of the targets. Director Chrysalis will not be pleased. The demon now looked at him.
'Oh Snap!'
* * * * * *
'Well that was fun.' Selene thought to herself as she hovered in the air. Everfree mansion's front lawn was littered with bodies. Most alive but Wilhelm guy landed hard on his head. Ouch. Oh and they had buddies outside too thinking that numbers will make a difference. Silly little foals, they truly don't know who they are dealing with. One of them even shot a bazooka at her. He didn't get a second shot. She landed and walked back in and found her friends.
“It's over now, I bet the police will be here soon.” She saw the head guy again and used her magic to lift him up. “Now then, who sent you since you have tried this by illegal means.”
“I'll tell you nothing!” He replied. Selene gave a very evil grin.
“Oh I think you will.” For theatrical purposes Selene lifted a hand, closed it into a fist but extended her thumb and forefinger. The guy started trying to grab his throat and Selene used her magic to close around his wing pipe. “I bet it's an intriguing sensation Isn't it. To be choking with no way to stop it. All you have to do is tell me who sent you and I will stop.” He didn't respond and Fluttershy tried to intervene but a look from Selene stopped her. Selene then looked back. “I've got all the time in the world, you don't.” Another minute passed and he finally said something.
“Chrysalis, it was Chrysalis.” Selene immediately released him and he collapsed onto the floor gasping for breath.
Minutes later the police arrived and began taking questions and arresting the clad figures. The officer in charge asked Selene and the others to stay in town for a few days as they gathered it all together. The girls then spent the night in the mansion after Celestia locked up the Living room so it would be harder to have uninvited guests.
The next few days featured the girls hanging out and Selene showing Twilight more of the human world than she saw the last two times she visited. Pinkie of course allowed Selene to borrow a camera. Which Pinkie had lying around for camera emergencies. And of course Selene enjoyed having classic McDonald's and other meats. Using the time to enjoy an omnivore culture.
The authorities did a few reviews of what happened and the Director of the CIA Chrysalis had some explaining to do. The CIA paid for the repairs to Everfree Mansion. Selene will still have to appear to the officials a few more times at later dates. With that dealt with it was time to head back home so both Twilight and Selene could resume their royal duties. With a few hugs Selene and Twilight head back through the portal.

The next day back in Equestria Selene was taking a break from her duties and she saw the CMC getting picked on by a pair of fillies. She had heard of this. Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon, two fillies with apparently nothing else to do but bully other kids. Well time to knock them down some.
“Well looky what we have here. Two fillies with no talent at all picking on girls who try the craziest things to find theirs.” Diamond Tiara looked over at Selene with a disapproving glare.
“And just who are you?” She asked.
“I'm Selene Light. I have heard of how you treat these girls and I'm sick of it. You bash them for lack of cutie marks. Okay then let's look at yours. Yours is a diamond tiara. Does that mean you can make jewelry well? I asked because you clearly don't have any leadership potential. And you Silver Spoon, is yours on making silverware for everypony, because being a snob is no talent you want to have on your flank for the rest of your life.” Both fillies were shocked at being told that.
“When my daddy here's what you've said he'll..”
“DO WHAT? I'm well within my rights to say what I say, but you just proved my point. You have no real talent, you run to your dad when something doesn't go as planned for you. He's a good business pony and a good pony over all but he's a horrible father since you are nothing but a spoiled brat. I fear if you don't change you will be the last Rich to eve run it.” The two bullies fled after that while the CMC cheered her praise.

two months later
Selene finally got done with the legal stuff in the other world. Chrysalis was removed from her position and a full apology made to all the victims, but as soon as she got back some nobles actually bothered to come down to Ponyville to nag her about some issues they couldn't get the other princesses behind. She heard some Wilhelms as she literally tossed them out.
She decided to fly into Everfree and ended up in the old Royal Sister's Castle. She wandered the ruin, studying it and dealing with the memories it brought.
'You know, I should restore this place. It's wrong for it to remain in ruin. I Know Twilight and the others have cleaned it up a bit in the past but let's go full bore as a personal project. But first...' An evil grin got onto her face. '...I have to teach the creatures of Everfree that this ruin and the woods between it and Ponyville are MINE.'

Selene will admit it to the world: for a fashion designer, Rarity is fit. Either that or she is able to break physics when she wants to make a dress. Selene was about to turn another block when she heard a phone ring behind her. She took a glance back to see Rarity stopped with a phone by her ear.
“WHAT!?” Rarity screams into her phone as Selene cautiously walks up to her. “Okay we're coming back. See you then darling.” Rarity closed the phone and looked at Selene. “They need us back at Sugar Cube Corner. I'll just have to dress you later.”
“If you can.” Selene replied as the two head back.
They walked through the door to see an interesting sight: two Sunset Shimmers and two Twilight Sparkles. The difference between the ponies and their doppelgängers was immediately apparent, and not just because the ponies were sitting at the table with the human equivalents of the elements. While pony Sunset wore a lavender shirt with her cutie mark. Her skirt was orange with vanilla and lavender stripes in the corner. She wore her gold and red hair free and had a black jacket and black boots that had some weird design in bright lavender in the front. The Human Sunset meanwhile had, in some form of irony, her gold and red hair in a ponytail. Her jacket and boots were the same but orange instead of black and she wore shorts over a skirt. Human Twilight had the same hairstyle pony Twilight had but wore the cliché white lab coat that was filled with pens, notepads, and various gizmos. She also wore shoes instead of those poorly designed boots. Anything else she might have worn was hidden by the coat. The human Twilight had some gizmo pointed at pony Twilight while looking at the gauges on it. Pony Twilight was looking curiously at the device. Both Sunsets were staring at each other while Luna had that resigned look while she shook her head.
“Rarity, Selene, you're back!” Pinkie said excitedly.
“And our front.” Selene replied getting a giggle from Pinkie and a facepalm from Rarity. Selene looked over the situation and didn't like it. The cafe was just too public to continue here. “Uh girls, why don't we move this somewhere more private.”
“Anypony have a problem with that?” Pony Twilight asked.
“Did she just say anypony?” human Twilight interrupted. Human Sunset stated,
“Well I want answers so we are going where you are going.”
“My mansion can house all of us. My sister will want to know about this matter.” Luna interjected. Not finding a reason to refuse that, Selene asked.
“Any objections?” human Twilight raised her hand.
“I do have a dog in the car.”
“As long as it is house trained, we will not have a problem.” The Human Twilight and Sunset got their food and soon everybody was following to Luna's car.

Luna's car was a black sporty looking thing with the licensee plate IAMNMM. Selene just shook her head at that and climbed in with Twilight.
“Hey Twi, you see that plaque?”
“Yes I did, what does it mean?”
“It's short for 'I am Nightmare Moon'.” Twilight winced at that.
“I wonder how that worked in this world?” She asked.
“Beats me.” Taking a regal pose Selene continued, “The School Night shall last FOREVER! Mwahahahaha!” That got Twilight giggling as Selene noticed Luna looking at them oddly through the mirror. Minutes later they went through some gates and pulled up to the front of a castle-like mansion. The others got out of their respective cars and Luna addressed them.
“Welcome to Everfree Mansion.” Selene had to admit, it was big and old world style.
'Two bits this was their version of the Royal Sisters Castle.' Selene thought to herself. Everyone looked at it in awe before Rainbow Dash asked.
“Hey Vice Principle, how did you afford this place?”
“Our family was among the first to settle this place with the Apple family and our family was rich then so they built this place. Both me and my sister don't need to teach the school but we want to teach so we do. Come, my sister is waiting.” They followed her in and everyone took a look around. Selene noticed a huge organ in a large room.
'I wonder if this version triggers trap doors and such.' Eventually they were led in to a HHHHHHUUUGGE living room with two high backed chairs, one gold the other dark blue and the roof was completely made of glass. Selene smirked at the resemblance. Everyone settled down as Luna went to get her sister and both appeared a few minutes later taking the high back seats.
“It is good to see you again Princess Twilight though I am surprised to see two of you and Sunset Shimmer.” Celestia said as she broke the ice.
“It's certainly surprising for us.” Human Sunset commented then looked at her double. “Care to explain yourself?”
“First explain why you came to Canterlot High School. Then we'll explain our existence.” Human Sunset frowned then sighed and relented.
“Fine, it started over a year ago.....”

Crystal Heart Academy Lab
Sunset needed to get this project done. Not only would it help her grade but it would begin the start of a new era for science. She entered the lab and saw the usual person there. Twilight Sparkle. She's Principle Cadance's sister in law and among the few who can keep up with herself. Twilight was in the lab more than her, which is saying something.
She was minutes into her work when alarms blared by Twilight's work area. She looked over and saw Twilight scanning all the screens while adjusting a instrument here or there.
“What the heck is going on?” She asked.
“I don't know? I was taking atmospheric measurements when suddenly the readings surged. There's some electrical event going on.” This roused Sunsets curiosity.
“Need any help?” Twilight pointed to the instruments on her left.
“If you can monitor those, that would be great.” Sunset did and was in awe of the readings. So much electrical energy was in the air you'd think there was a massive thunderstorm going on, but the forecast was clear. The energy did die down but then they saw a couple of small spikes before it surged again. “By the stars this is bigger than the initial surge.” Twilight said and both girls went over the readings which lasted over about two minutes before subsiding. The two spent the next two hours going over their findings. “I have never seen anything like this, have you Sunset?”
“No I haven't. This went all over the spectrum and is surprisingly harmonious.” Sunset looked carefully at the readings. “We should tell Principle Cadance about this tomorrow.”

They did but nothing really came of it. Officials reported a gas tank explosion at the time and Cadance thought what the girls got was effects of equipment being destroyed during the explosion. The girls weren't fully convinced of it and kept an eye out for another event.
The girls got there wish months later as the readings spiked even more than before with two different signatures and they lasted for minutes before the returned harmonious one got stronger and the other just dropped off the screen. They decided not to tell Principle Cadance and looked around for clues. Twilight figured out it was located in a nearby city and Sunset narrowed it down to be near or in Canterlot High School. Sunset found out that the school requested a construction crew and there were several pictures of the front of the school just being gone after the first incident. Since it was now spring break both Twilight and Sunset decided to check out the school.

“And that brings us to tonight. So we explained our part. Now explain those two.” Human Sunset said, pointing to the pony counterparts. Selene decided to take that up and explained that situation. During the talk Luna grabbed some snacks for everyone. Taking a sip of root beer, Selene finished,
“And that's how we got to here.” While Celestia had wide eyes, human Sunset and Twilight had the full wide eyes and jaw drops going on.
“So that explains why my attempts at contacting Sunset's parents or guardian failed.” Celestia finally commented after a full minute. Before anything further could be said, there was a sound of glass shattering and everybody moved as they saw the ceiling fall on them. Everyone had cuts from it but nothing serious thankfully. Unfortunately, they didn't have long to think on that as several black clad figures landed on the floor. They were armed and pointing at everyone.
“WHAT'S THE MEANING OF THIS!?” Luna demanded.
“Well ma'am. I have orders to take you all into custody.” One of the figure's replied.
“And you thought it best to smash our ceiling?” Celestia asked.
“Not to mention needing a warrant dude.” Selene commented.
“We don't need a warrant to deal with national security issues.”
“I beg to differ. Many here are American citizens and that does entitle them to rights. You can't just break in here without a warrant so I suggest you give Miss Celestia a number to claim damages and get the HELL out.”
“No you freaks are coming with us. Our agency has been monitoring the events for some time now. We already have those girls calling themselves the Dazzlelings for study and now we have you. Let's take them out boys.” One of the figures grabbed Fluttershy who whimpered and forced her away from her seat.
“Please don't mister.” She weakly begged. The figure responded by twisting her arm causing her to yelp and cry. That did it for Selene. No matter which version, Fluttershy was a kind and caring being who's fear and shyness hid a powerful will. No one hurts her without experiencing pain themselves. Unbeknownst to Selene but in full view of the captors, Selene's hair was beginning to become starry and her eyes had turned to their draconic form.
