"This stallion tried firing at a citizen with a bow and arrow, but I stopped him from doing so." Sunny Smiles just shook her head and extended her wings, basically telling Clover to join her. He nodded and tied up the stallion, placing him on his back. They flew down to the ground and gave the guard at the gate the attacker. Sunny nodded to the guard and turned to Clover.

"I'm going to see if that mare is okay. Also, Princess Luna asked for you. Better not keep her waiting." He nodded and entered through the gate. He then walked through the castle, his hooves clip-clopping on the floor. When he neared the princesses' private quarters, the floor was now covered with red carpet. He spotted the two Night Guards at the door, both Knights, and approached them.

"Corporal Leaf Clover, Princess Luna asked for my presence." They eyed him and one knocked on the door, asking Luna if she did in fact request him. She replied yes and Clover entered her private quarters. Inside was what you'd expect from the Princess of the Moon. Dark blue theme and the night sky covering the wall, it was calming, in a way. Clover spotted the princess on a couch and walked up to her.

She seemed to notice him and spoke to him. "If you're wondering why I requested you instead of my sister, it's because Celestia is out in Griffonia trying to prevent war. Though, if she was here, she'd still task you with this same mission." She noticed his stiff form, always the same after years of training. "Relax, are you afraid of me? You should know that I treat my sister's guards the same way I do mine."

"Of course, Your Highness. What can I do for you?" Clover asked, ignoring the Night Princess' request and remained still and upright. Luna noticed, but did not comment on it. Her horn powered and tray with a pitcher of tea and two cups levitated in front of her, landing on the table that was placed in front of the couch. She poured a cup and asked if Clover wanted any.

"Do you want to a cup of tea, Clover?" He shook his head and remained in his spot. "Well, unlike my sister, I'm going to get to the point. I'm tasking you with a mission. You're going to Ponyville, specifically to the giant castle in the middle of the town, and you're going to protect Princess Twilight Sparkle like you would with my sister and I. Understood, Corporal?" Clover nodded, not hesitating for a second.

"You are to leave in a few hours, so pack everything you have. Please don't disappoint me or my sister, okay Corporal?" Clover nodded. "Okay then, you're dismissed." Clover bowed and left the room, passing by the two Lunar Knights. He smiled, finally getting the break he deserved. He was so very young to be an Elite, but he's been through alot, despite his rank.

He arrived at his room and entered it, pulling out a bag. He packed his sword that he used so much in past and he packed a picture of his family, something that helped him through training. He placed over top of his sword and packed the armor he kept in his closet. It was the Elite Royal Guard armor. It was the same thing, but it had black lines over white lines. It also had Solar Defendant symbol on the side.

Clover grabbed the bag and slung it over his shoulder, exiting his room after locking it and began the walk to the train. With his armor off, he returned to his normal colors. His coat was a dark green, while his mane was a normal forest green. His cutie-mark was a four leaf clover. Without his armor, he was a normal pony to the eyes of the denizens of Canterlot.

He arrived at the train station and bought a ticket. He has heard of Princess Twilight Sparkle before, but barely. Supposedly, she used to be the protégé of Princess Celestia herself and is also the Bearer of the Element of Magic. Definitely famous, as he thought to himself. After a few hours, the train pulled into the station and he boarded. "Next stop, Ponyville!" He found a seat and sat down, placing his bag next to him.

A blue mare with brown hair walked in and sat across from Clover, her cutie-mark being a teddy bear. He stared out the window. "You going to Ponyville, too?" He glanced over to the mare and assumed she asked him. He took a second to decide if he should answer or not, and then replied so he he didn't seem rude to her.

"Yes."

"So am I. I'm going to visit my sister, Cheerilee. She's a teacher, teaching young minds. I'm proud of her, y'know?" Clover nodded, knowing how he felt whenever he visited his family. They would always tell him all the gossip going around in the town and feed him. Boy, did they feed him. He smiled and went back to stare out the window. Apparently, she was done talking and remained quiet for the rest of the ride.

Hours later, the train pulled into Ponyville and out stepped Clover. It didn't take him very long to spot the gigantic tree in the middle of town. He sighed and began walking towards it, his bag slung over his shoulder, filled with all his necessities. He passed by several ponies, and they all said hello to them. He knew this was a very friendly town due to Sunny Smiles telling him about it.

He stood in front of the castle and knocked on it three times. "Hold on! I'm coming!" Came a childish voice. He waited a moment until the door was open and looked around. He didn't see anypony until he looked down. Standing in front of him was baby dragon, with the colors of purple and green, and Clover knew he was male because of the voice. "You're not the comic guy."

"Is Princess Twilight Sparkle present?"

"Yes, but don't call her that, it bugs her alot."

"Can I come in?"

"Uh, yeah. I'll get Twilight for you. Twilight! Some stallion is here for you!" He yelled up the stairs. Clover remained silent and glanced around. Almost the whole palace was made up of crystal and there was a big council room in the middle. There was six chairs and each had an Element of Harmony on it. Clover heard a feminine voice call down.

"Hold on, Spike! I'm coming down!" A minute or two later, Twilight stepped downstairs. Clover saw her and waited for her to completely arrive downstairs. She had a horn that was almost the size of Princess Luna's and wings that were pretty big, too. She a lavender coat and an indigo mane, with pink and magenta highlights. Clover bowed. "Princess Twilight, I was sent here with the task to protect you like I would Princess Celestia and Princess Luna. I'm your personal guard and I have to do anything you say, Your Highness." Twilight looked to Spike for confirmation and Spike shrugged, looking up at Clover. Clover waited for his first order, and Twilight hesitated.

"Uh, okay. Please, uh, make yourself at home. Why don't you, uh, go unpack while I figure what to do with you. I mean, figure out what to do." Clover nodded and grabbed his bag, walking off to find a room to unpack and arm himself. She is still a princess, meaning she's a high priority target. There will be some attempts on her life at some point. Clover found a room and started unpacking.

Twilight waited until he was out of range of hearing and then spoke. "Spike, why is he here? I don't remember requesting a personal guard."

"I don't know, Twilight, he kinda just showed and asked if you were here."

"But, I don't need a personal guard, Spike. I can handle myself, as long as my friends are with me."

"That's the thing, Twilight. What if your friends aren't with you? Him coming here was a good thing, Twilight. He can protect you and your friends, if you ask him to defend them. Even if you don't want to say it, Twi, him here is a good thing." Twilight thought for a second before replying. Spike kind of does have a point, she thought to herself.

"I guess you're right, Spike. I just don't know where to start."

"You'll figure it out, Twilight." Spike patted Twilight on the back and walked off to go nap or eat. Twilight thought about his advice and decided to just let the guard stay here. Maybe he'll become useful the next time a villain comes around. Besides, it's not like he'll get in the way of her. Hopefully. Twilight sighed, knowing fully that he will.

Clover stood beside Princess Twilight Sparkle as she hastily op scribbled on a piece of paper, occasionally glancing at a book. Clover was in full uniform, wearing his Elite Royal Guard armor and a spear lodged under his right wing. With the armor on, his coat was pristine white and his make was dark grey, but his green eyes remained. Twilight sometimes sneaked a peek at Clover.

Twilight placed the quill down and the paper, and sighed. She closed the book and slumped down onto her haunches. She's been writing for the past three hours and Clover's been there the entire time. You know what, I want to find out more about this stallion. If he's going to be protecting me for awhile, it would make sense to find out more about him. "Why don't you take the rest of the day off, Clover?"

"As you wish." He bowed and walked off, not denying the princess' demands. Twilight smiled, grabbing a note pad and a quill. She waited for him to enter his room and then she sneaked to his room. He unstrapped the straps connecting his armor and let it fall to the ground with a clink. His coat returned to his normal dark green color, along with his forest green mane. He laid down on his bed, his hooves at his sides. He stared up at the ceiling for a second, his eyes narrowing for a moment like he was thinking. He hopped up and locked the door.

What is he doing? Twilight thought to herself as she wrote down notes in her notepad.
