//-------------------------------------------------------// Be My Rock, Human -by Brutal Heart- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Meeting Maud //-------------------------------------------------------// Meeting Maud Meeting Maud Kasper groaned as his body struggled waking up. It was like a futile attempt to physically fight the light and stay asleep, ever the hopeless struggle. Kasper finally went limp and squinted his eyes at the intense sunlight coming through his window. He's never met Celestia, but with how bright her damned sun is every morning, he imagines her being the exact opposite of him; being optimistic and enthusiastic when she wakes up. It was annoying. Thinking of that, however, reminded him of a certain little pink menace. If it wasn't Pinkie being enthusiastic and bouncing on his bed to wake him up, then someone else had to... Kasper just wished Celestia didn't have to burn his eyeballs to do it. Deciding it was best to get ready and not fall asleep again, Kasper dragged himself out of bed, got dressed, and headed to the bathroom to brush his teeth. As he leaned onto his sink, looking at his disheveled appearance in the mirror, he thought back to when he didn't have his own house and instead lived with the Cakes.  Ever the kind couple, they had seen him homeless in a world not his own, and decided to take him in. Kasper was determined to try and not be a bother, and wanted to try and buy a place of his own as soon as he possibly could. Sure, sitting around and mooching probably would've been preferable, but if he proved himself to be nothing but a lazy and useless alien, he'd be giving all humans a bad name. After saving up a good sum of bits from a year of working at Sugarcube Corner, he bought himself a quaint little cabin on the outskirts of Ponyville. It wasn't too big, especially considering it was made for ponies (the average pony's head would be about a half a foot below his waist), and it wasn't especially pretty, but it was simple and effective. No real leaks to speak of, no holes in the walls... Sure, it was wooden, and all he'd been able to afford was metal furniture, but it worked. Smacking the notion of bothering with his uncooperative hair away, he left for work. On his way, a few ponies he had met at the numerous parties Pinkie had thrown waved at him, throwing a smile his way and wishing him a good morning. While he wanted to be cranky about the rude awakening, he couldn't help but be cheered up a bit by the ponies. it always seemed like no matter what came their way, they were always able to pick themselves back up and keep smiling anyway; he was slightly jealous of this trait, but he appreciated it nonetheless. He smiled and waved back. Living with Pinkie and, admittedly, being dragged around by her to her parties had left Kasper being a bit well-known. He wasn't really popular per-say, but it wasn't like he was on bad terms with any of the ponies. He walked through the front door of Sugarcube Corner. It was empty for the most part; the morning rush hasn't begun yet. Exchanging a few more smiles and good mornings with the customers, he put on his hairnet and apron, and took his place behind the counter. Not a second after he had took his position had the register popped open, sending him back onto his tush as Pinkie somehow appeared from the cash drawer. "Kaspy! Guess what?!," Pinkie exclaimed, a large smile on her face as she looked at him, unbothered by her physics breaking and knocking him over. He doesn't know why he's really even surprised anymore. All this time around her, and yet, she still manages to catch him off guard. She would make a great ninja... Maybe. She'd probably be too loud and just try to throw parties rather than anything ninja-like.  Shaking off his surprise and dumb ninja thoughts, he stood up and regarded her with a smile, "Hi, Pinkie. What is it?" "Ooh, ooh, my sister Maud is moving in here at Sugarcube Corner! Her expedition got shut down cause the stallion running it spent too many bits that he didn't have, so she's gonna be here until she can pick herself back up again!  It's gonna be so fun! We-" Kasper tuned out her usual rambling as he stood there, his jaw hanging in horror. Oh sweet Jesus, He thought, There's two of them?! ____________________
