Adrenaline
First Contact
Previous ChapterNext ChapterAs I wrapped myself up and finally felt the pain sink in as the adrenaline died out, I began to plan everything out. OK, all I gotta do is cut through the brush, find a better place for base camp, get my bearings straight and find civilization, easy. I grabbed my bowie knife and started to cut through the thick branches until I made a clear path.
“I just saved the next guy a whole lota trouble” I laughed to myself as I got all of my gear together and headed out. I was walking through tight forest trees for a long time, so I thought it would be a good idea to pull out my ipod and listen to something as I wandered aimlessly through the woods. Over the Mountain by Ozzy began to play and I found it oddly fitting of a song. The longer I walked, the darker it got, and the more of a need to set up shelter, after a few more songs, It was pitch black, so I pulled out my flashlight as quickly as I could, but by the time I got it out and turned it on, that eerie feeling came over me as non of the trees looked like that of the ones I was riding through earlier. I was getting more cuts from low branches, and I started to become extremely tired, but my adrenaline began to pump again as I found a trail and followed it. The second I found the end of the seemingly endless forest, I quickly set up my tent and crawled into it with my gear and passed out immediately. What I didn't notice was the small cottage located about 100 yards from where I set up camp.
It was early in the morning as Fluttershy woke up and began her morning routine. After she got washed up and ate, she went about waking up and feeding her animals. As she went outside to feed the chickens, she noticed something abnormal. She noticed a small structure just outside the opening to the Everfree Forest. Being the light hearted one of her group of friends, she quickly few over to the house of her bravest friend, Rainbow Dash. As soon as she got to her friends house in the sky, she pounded on the door as hard as she could. Inside, her rainbow haired friend pulled herself out of her bed groggily and dragged herself to the door. She opened it slowly, but was hit in the face as Fluttershy was panicking and had her eyes closed.
“OW, geez what’s the problem ‘shy?” She remarked after her rude wake up.
“Oh my, I’m so sorry about that, its just that I need your help, but if you’re busy….” She trailed off.
“Well, the weather is supposed to be clear today, so I’m free, what’s got you in such a panic?” Dash asked as she got dressed inside.
“Well, when I went outside to wake up my chickens, I saw something at the edge of the Everfree Forest. It looked like a tiny house?”
“Now this I gotta see, lets go.” Dash smirked as they flew to Fluttershy’s cottage. When they landed, the structure was still there as they slowly approached it.
Inside the tent, I was just waking up, slowly but surely. As I looked at the partially see-through walls of the tent, I noticed tow figures moving in on me. On instinct, I grabbed my knife and crouched down in a defensive position. As they approached the door, I readied myself. As the zipper door opened I jumped on the figure closest to the opening, effectively pinning them down, unexpectantly, the other person began to scream and run around. As I look down to see whom I had in my clutches, I was so surprised I fell back. It was a girl, just your run-of-the-mill girl, except for her rainbow hair…and wings. As I look towards the other girl, she is flying, flying overhead.
“What are you guys??” I ask, trying to keep as calm as possible.
“What do you mean what? Shouldn’t you be asking who?” The rainbow haired girl retorted with a dirty look that I couldn’t help but remind me of my brother.
“Right, my bad, and sorry about the whole pinning-you-down-with-a-knife thing, how about a more proper introduction, that is, if you’re friend is willing” I joked, pointing to the pink haired girl still panicking.
“Don’t worry about her” she told me, “’shy, its alright, he’s cool.” With that, the pink haired girl landed and took position behind the rainbow haired one.
At this point, I managed to get my first good look at them. The rainbow haired one was about the same age as me, 5’8” at a glance, athletic build, and wings, which were a cyan blue and, if I could guess, were about 4’ each fully extended. She was wearing a simple t-shirt, and a pair of cargo shorts.
Her friend, whom she called “’shy” was a bit taller, about 5’10”, again, same age, long pink hair, a bit poofy at the top, but curls to a tip at the bottom, thin build, yellow wings, just a bit longer than her friends'. She was wearing a loose fitting sweater and a pair of brown shorts.
“Allow me to begin, my name is Allen, who might you two be?” I said, confidently.
The rainbow haired girl spoke up. “Well that’s a weird name, I’m Rainbow Dash, and this is my best friend Fluttershy.” She said, pointing to the meek girl behind her. I’m the one with the weird name?? I thought, but then something clicked..
“HOLY CRAP” I yelled.
“What??” They asked.
They are, but it can’t be, they’re human, mostly at least, how is this possible, I know them. Not wanting to sound creepy by saying that I knew them, I simply said
“Nothing”. Smooth, that will work I hissed at myself.
“O.k….” Dash said, while giving me a weirded out look.
“Oh my” Fluttershy gasped, her first words she said since her panic attack “You’re hurt, what happened?”
“Huh? Oh yea” I said, remembering my arm and leg wounds “Its no big deal, just some cuts, I already patched it up.
“Not very well” Dash remarked.
I looked down to check and I noticed she had a point, I bled through the bandages and I needed a fix up.
“Ill help you, don’t you worry one but, you’ll be better in no time” Fluttershy said, whilst grabbing my good arm and pulling me towards her cottage, which I just noticed was there.
“While she does that, hows about you tell us what happened to you? Youre pretty banged up” Dash said, as she followed closely behind.
“Sounds fair” I told her. “But where do I begin?”…
