Adrenaline
Meeting the gang, Part 1
Previous ChapterNext ChapterI caught up with Applejack as she opened the door to go inside. As I stepped in with her, I observed the interior of her home. All of the furniture was wooden, and polished. The walls were painted white and had a wooden trim. Everything seemed hand crafted. We walked into what presumably would be the living room, which had a green couch and a few chairs settled around a wooden table. As we turned to our right, there was a quaint kitchen, furniture matching the theme of the living room. At the stove, an elderly woman with her white hair in a bun was cooking something that smelled…. amazing. At the table was a young girl, probably around 13, with a bow in her red hair. Across from the girl was a heavily built man, around his early 20’s, with short, messy, blond hair, and a stalk of wheat in his mouth. He was waiting patiently while the little girl bounced around the room.
“Can ah have everyone’s attention fer a moment. I’d like fer you all to meet mah new friend, he might be in ponyville for some time, so I’d figure I’d introduce him. This is Allen.” She stepped to the side to present me.
“Hello, nice to meet you all” I said, a little nervously. She then pointed out all of her family members.
“There at the stove is Granny Smith, sittin at the table there is mah big brother, Big Macintosh, or Big Mac, whichever, and this rascal right here is my little sister Apple Bloom” She said as she picked up the young girl.
“WOW, yer huge.” The little girl said in amazement. “You must be as big as mah big brother, Mac, stand next to him, I wanna see.”
“Alright.” He responded in a deep southern voice. He slowly got up and stood next to me and, just as they thought, we were looking each other eye to eye.
“Nice to meet you.” I said, offering a handshake.
“Eyyup.” He responded accepting the offer, firmly grasping my hand.
“Well howdy there friend.” An old but lively voice chippered from the other side of the room. Granny Smith was slowly making her way over to where everyone was gathering. After a bit of time, she made it.
“Well hello there friend. Would you care to stay for lunch?” She asked as she shook my hand gently.
“I don’t know, we are supposed to be meeting up with the others, hey Aj, would they be ok with the others if we were a bit late?” A responded while looking to Applejack for a response.
“Yer right, we should probably be headin out, we don’t wanna keep ‘em waitin.” She replied. “C’mon, lets go.” She began to walk out the door.
“Alright, it was nice to meet you all.” I said as I followed her out.
“Bye, see ya ‘round” They seemed to all say in unison, except for Big Mac, whom just nodded in agreement with them as I left.
I caught up to Aj again and she started jogging.
“C’mon, Ponyville is about a mile down the road, it’ll take a bit of time if we walk.”
“Sounds good, but can you keep up?” I joked as I ran passed her.
“Its on.” She retorted as she worked to catch up to me.
“HEY,” I shouted, remembering my injured leg.
We raced down the dirt trail until we reached the edge of the town in no more than a couple of minutes. We slowed down to catch our breath.
“He he, you’re pretty fast.” I said as I braced my arms just above my knees and leaned slightly forward.
“Yer not so bad yerself.” She told me, mirroring my motions.
“Alright, so where’s Twi’s place?” I said, now fully recovered.
“Center of town, follow me.” She said, resuming motion with a slow pace.
“Right behind ya.” I noticed puffy pink hair hiding in the distance, but I shrug it off.
As we walked through the town, I took in the sights, I have always lived in a city/suburban environment, and being in a semi-rural town like this was kindof new to me, no paved roads, vehicles, etc. It was calm, peaceful, serene, and pleasant. But everywhere I looked I noticed that poofy pink hair poking out, just as I was about to ask Aj about it, it finally appeared before me.
“HI THERE.” She yelped at an excessive volume.
“HOLY -” I cut myself off as I jump back out of shock, landing on my butt hard.
In front of me stood a chirpy girl, maybe a year younger than me at most, about 5’ 7” with poofy pink hair, a long, pink shirt, and a semi short blue skirt. She had a huge smile sewn across her face.
“What’s your name?” She chirped.
“I’m Allen, might I ask whom you might be?” I replied as I helped myself to my feet.
“I’m Pinkie Pie, silly.” She said as she offered a hand to help me up.
“Thanks, um, have you been following us?” I asked her, now that I was properly poised.
“Gosh dern it Pinkie, not again.” I heard Aj exclaim.
“Sorry Aj, its just that I noticed you two walking, and I recognized Aj immediately, of course I did, shes my friend, but I didn’t know who you were, but then I thought, maybe I do know you, but it’s a bad angle to identify you, so I kept on looking from different angles, until I realized that I don’t know you, and since I know everyone, I needed to find out who you were, which I do now, you must be new here, and I throw a party for everyone who is new to town, GASP, I need to get your party ready, I wish we could talk more, ill see you later.” She then dashed away and disappeared as suddenly as she appeared. I took a moment to process what just happened.
“Wha-….what just happened” I look to Applejack who is just snickering to herself.
“Don’t worry, you’ll see her again soon at your party.” She continued to laugh.
“I don’t think I’m ready for a party just yet.” I replied, inspecting my wounds.
“You’ll have one if you’re ready or not, now c’mon, the library is just around the corner.” She told me as she picked up her walking pace again.
“Finally, I could use a nice sit down.”
I followed her around some houses and beheld in front of us, was a tree, a huge tree, with a door, windows and even a balcony.
“Wow, you guys like to use what’s available, don’t you” I joked, as I looked in amazement.
“Yep, I suppose so.” She answered while knocking on the door.
As the door opened, a girl about 5’9” with a kind-of bob haircut, with purple and pink strips going down in, wearing what looked to be a private school uniform that had colors matching her hair, was revealed at the other end. She had a small purple horn atop her head, about 6 inches long to the tip. I was going to ask about it, but I decided to wait till we were inside and properly acquainted.
“Hey Applejack, hi Allen, come on in.” She said with a welcoming voice.
“Wait, how did you kn-”
“I’ve been filled in” She told me with a smile, pointing to Dash and ‘Shy, whom were sitting inside on some cushions.
“Alrighty then” I replied as I walked inside and took a seat. I took notice of the inside of the library. The room was circular shaped with bookshelves lining the walls. An opening came to sight at the left side, with a kitchen in view, and on the right there was a stairway leading to a door. In the center there was a quaint table surrounded by four chairs. A couch was situated behind it, with a gap of a few feet from the wall.
“Ill get some tea ready, do you have any preferences?” She asked while walking to the kitchen.
“If you had mint tea, that would be great”
“Mint tea coming up” I heard from the kitchen.
“Since you’re here” Dash started “Could you show me some of that music now?”
“I don’t see why not since we’re waiting” I replied “Now lets start with a band called AC/DC”
I put the headphones in her ears and pressed play, as soon as the song started, she began to bob her head in approval. We sat in silence, except for the music, as we waited for the tea, and conversation, to arrive.
