About 20 years after the first Hearthswarming, the 3 pony leaders had created a great country called Equestria.
The 6 leaders essentially created tribes of their people. The tribe we are focusing on now is the Tribe of Clover.
It was a lovely town, and the earth ponies there planted much clover in the vast fields. It proved as a symbol of their leader and added a charm to the land. And it was delicious.
Now a certain unicorn, Felix, was gathering honey with his magic, when a loud screech...well...screeched overhead. He jumped a bit and looked up. There, flying around like fireworks, he saw the most magnificent bird he had ever seen! Felix was very curious since he had never seen this bird before. He abrubtly stopped what he was doing to ask Clover about the amazing bird.
Many ponies became illiterate since most of their books flew away in the attack by the windigos. Few ponies had books, and the ones that did gave them to Clover.
She was the wisest pony in their town, and many came to her seeking wisdom. This is what Felix intended to do.
"Miss Clover," Felix asked, "may I speak with you?"
"Yes, yes, come in, come in, what would you like to know?"
"Well, you see, I just saw a great bird flying in the sky! It was the color of flames, and appeared to actually be on fire! I would like to know what it is."
"A fiery bird, you say?" Clover scrunched up her face and said, "What was it called, what was it called?"
She got up and ran to her bookshelf, determined to find the answer.
After what seemed like hours to Felix, she suddenly shouted "Aha!"
"Have you found it?"
"Yes," Clover nodded eagerly, "it says here that it is a bird called a phoenix. Look, it tells you everything about it!"
He took the book in his magic and read:
The Phoenix.
A phoenix is a magical fiery bird that molts, turns to ashes, and then is born again, more beautiful than ever.
Do not try to take a phoenix's egg, or it will blind you with its fiery feathers. They are very protective of their young.
The phoenix is said to be a sign of good fortune in many lands, as it often leads you to new discoveries.
Most phoenixes are very lightweight, except when they are molting. Then, they are weakened and take on an appearance as if they were a featherless chicken. Do not be fooled by a molting phoenix!
Felix looked up. "So a phoenix appeared above my head. Does that mean I am going to discover something?"
Clover suddenly looked old and wise, and pondered the question. "Perhaps. But not alone. If you are going to discover something, you will need your friends with you. Phoenixes are said to lead ponies into danger as well. But only for a greater reward."
Felix stared in awe at her wisdom. She normally seemed so...kooky. He looked upon her with great respect and said,"Thank you, Miss Clover, I will take your advice and gather my friends at once."
"Yes, yes, discovering and all, now where's that hat I had?"
