The Last SOS
Part 1
Load Full StoryNext ChapterThere they all were, traveling on their rather small and compact shuttle through the cold depths of space. They were urgently notified from High Command about a sudden need for all PKR troops to report back to the country for an emergency. WindRunner knew that there was more to the message but the rest of the gamma signals were too faint for their receptors to pick up, given that it had already traveled 2.4 light years to get there. They dated the signal and left as soon as they could when they realized that the SOS was sent approximately 3 months before they received it.
It was just another day on the shuttle, a day that to MoonShadow, was another day for him to rot in this ship, forced to leave everyone back at his old home, for something that has most likely already been dealt with and is no longer a threat. For him, he believes that Rijibo had just invaded one of PKR's allies and the PKR called a soldier's meeting preparing them for whatever the worst case scenario would be; whether the Game of Champions Association would approve of the act committed by Rijibo and allow them special amounts of Jujonium.
MoonShadow arose from a gruesome slumber of nightmares and mayhem, clutching his chest only slightly, his breathing steady. TigerEyes, with sensitive ears of such magnitude, woke up along with him almost instantaneously. Without saying a single word MoonShadow began his simple and tedious routine, starting with a shower. Already stripped of clothing, he headed towards the only sanitary station that the shuttle was made with. TigerEyes laid in bed only for a little bit more before she arose from her cot and began to wake the rest of the team.
As he stood there in the shower part of the station, bathing himself, his body relaxed to the sensation of the hot water striking every part of his body, which calmed his stressed mind of the continuous nightmare that he has been having for about half of the trip back to Placedonia. Not only that but it reminded him of all the times that he and his soulmate spent together, cuddling, and sharing their each and immense love for each other. This extinct feeling, now full of mixed emotions and whatnot, mainly brought upon him great depression, and sadness, and the grim realizing fact that such a thing like that may never happen to him for as long as he lives. Suddenly the shower pellets stopped, for the timer of his 6 minute shower has gone up. It was time for MoonShadow to move on with his day of monitoring the ship's condition.
Once he stepped out of the shower he saw CrimsonRegret, already there waiting for him to leave so that he can take his shower. MoonShadow glanced at his figure and saw the same cunning and killing machine that the PKR just adores. He saw the rather harsh look in his dark brown eyes that depicted crankiness and the denial to start up another boring day of being on the shuttle. His sleek black coat, which soaked in all light thrown at him, complimented his 3 dark red scars that he got during his first deployment to the native lands. His broad shoulders and muscular figure went along with his personality of humble hostility, and wise ignorance, which made MoonShadow only smirk at him every time he gets a thought that CrimsonRegret might actually be more dominant than him. He stepped out and allowed him passage.
After the rest of his morning routine had gone by, which consisted of him dressing into more relaxing clothing that molded to his body in seconds, consuming breakfast which was mainly leftover M.R.E's from last night, and grooming, he trotted towards the control deck where the entire team attends to for most of their day. However, a remarkable thing occurred on his way there when he was passing through the cabin. Looking out of the side windows, he began to see very familiar Military satellites, and lots of them. Space debris was another common thing that was spotted, but not just any kind of space debris, such as debris that was spawned from an asteroid or comet, but debris spawned from destroyed combative aerospace ships. To a normal Placedonian, all they would see would be the remnants of a disastrous time in the now 80 year long war in which the warfare became so brutal, it took to the very outermost parts of the skies; Where nations would have space bombers plunge devastating nuclear and chemical warheads on each other in order to make their rivals subdue to defeat, but to MoonShadow, the remnants of Rijibo's X-37 battleships and PKR's K.I.D.D. Speed-Hawk patrol ships, and Spixxy's Golden Eagle bombers, let him realize something that allowed him to even cheer, to even praise for. Their shuttle was now in Placedonia's orbit.
